Public display of ARR rank
The ARR (all-rounder rank) list should be displayed publicly so that you can see how you stack up against other riders, and give you incentive to perform and progress. It also encourages you to race in different formats and distances.
The other good thing about ARR is that it is not sandbaggable, as your ARR is not used to determine which pen you enter in a race (that is the course specific rank which is hidden).
16 votesMany thanks for your suggestion, and support for TrainingPeaks Virtual.
I'm delighted to say that this is now fully implemented and if you look at profiles online (e.g. at https://tpvirtualhub.com) then you will see the riders All-Rounder Ranking (ARR) as requested.

UI/UX: GPX routes should use actual map for minimap
For custom made routes can we have the option to set the mini map to a real world map like Google maps or similar so we can see where we are. With the virtual routes it can be hard to visualise where you are without the usual real world landmarks. This has been implemented on Biketerra and it makes the riding of custom routes better in my opinion.

I'm delighted to say that this has been implemented and works exactly as you suggest - the minimap now shows you the satellite images for any GPX route you ride.

Pairing screen, clearer information
I’ve answered multiple times now on Facebook and discord as to why ERG isn't working. I've even answered in person, a friend who said TPV is great but erg is rubbish.
It turns out all theses issues are from users pairing their trainer as smart trainer AND powermeter. This is understandable because coming from Zwift, this is what was required on that platform. Whereas on TPV the powermeter is only for secondary power source.
This issue crops up multiple times a week now on social platforms.
The solution would be a little bit of text or pop up message saying…

I'm delighted to say that this has now been implemented in the latest release (v0.4.9) which is out today. This release significantly reworks the pairing process to enable support for a wider range of devices and multi-user environments where there are many different devices all in the same room.
This should address the vast majority of the pairing issues previously experienced (including issues with ERG mode), but if there are any specific devices that TrainingPeaks Virtual still does not recognise, then please feel free to raise a new UserVoice suggestion for that specific device so we can investigate and add support for you.

UI/UX: List of enrolled races & group Rides
Currently we can enroll to a race in the future, but it will not appear anywhere on the user profile. It will stay in the long list of events, and will not export for the calendar. This would be very nice, so we can see all enrolled events, make priority lists and better manage training and racing schedule.
15 votesMany thanks for your suggestion, and support for TrainingPeaks Virtual.
I'm delighted to say that this has now been implemented in the latest release (v0.4.26, out this week). The events page now defaults to showing a list of "highlighted" events which will contain any events that you have signed up to, as well as any that lots of others have signed up to that you might be interested in riding as well.
Obviously you can then still access the more detailed lists of every event as before.

Resolve conflict when more than one rider and more than one trainer and HR monitor try to connect
Currently if more than one person is trying to connect their smart trainer and HR monitor to TPV there are issues with conflicting connectivity. Turning Bluetooth off on one device after connecting helps the other rider connect, but you need to do this each time you ride, and that is time consuming.

WORLD: Routes - more free rides
I'd like to see more middle distance free rides between 20-50 miles with a variety of climbing . . . just more variety. Thanks!
15 votesMany thanks for your suggestion, and support for TrainingPeaks Virtual.
I'm delighted to say that over the past year since this was raised, many more routes have been added to the main islands, as well as the ability to import GPX files so you can ride any route you want, anywhere in the world, at any time.
Whilst we'll continue to add more routes in the future, now feels like a good time to close this issue down. Any further ideas for improvements to routes can of course be made in new suggestions!

camera mode off - maximise training data on the screen
I've just discovered the "camera mode- off" function, which is great. However It'd be good if the training data windows could be maximised to fit the screen in lieu of the virtual environment. This would be particularly useful when using TPV on an ipad / tablet like myself, where I struggle to read some of the tiny data screens

I'm delighted to say that the latest version out today (v0.4.13) adds the option for "Focussed Mode" workouts. Selecting this option removes all the distractions from the screen and enables you to just focus directly on the core numbers that matter when you just need to get a workout done.

Add ability to turn off battery status in UI
My laptop is always plugged in while riding, so the battery status display hardly ever changes. Please make it an option to turn this off as it just adds clutter to the UI.
14 votesMany thanks for your suggestion and support for TrainingPeaks Virtual.
I'm delighted to say that the latest release (v0.4.14) out today now fully implements this suggestion. From the Main Menu > Options > UI Settings you can now select whether to show the battery status indication either "Always", "Only when not full" or "Never" according to your own preferences.

Have a club page that shows all upcoming events
It would be nice to have a page that shows all of the upcoming events for a specific club. This way, athletes can see all of the events for their club at once.
13 votesMany thanks for this suggestion, and your support for TrainingPeaks Virtual.
I'm delighted to say that this has now been implemented in the latest release of TPVirtualHub.com - when viewing your teams' page (you can find them all from https://tpvirtualhub.com/teams), it now lists all upcoming events that are organised by that team.

Apple TV Keyboard
Please can you add support so you can use the Apple TV keyboard instead of the remote.

I'm delighted to say that TrainingPeaks Virtual now fully supports text entry via keyboard using the AppleTV Remote Application on an iPhone or iPad.

For training, allow adjustments to increase or decrease FTP effort on a phone
While training it is helpful to adjust the FTP up or down while riding. This helps adjust intervals as fatigue sets in. It also allow to fine tune power zones to heart rate zones. The idea is to have the ride on a large device and also allow another device to view the ride while it is in progress and make adjustments. If you are using a PC to run TrainingPeaks Virtual, if an adjustment is needed, you need to get off the trainer, make the adjustment, and start riding again.
13 votesThank you for your suggestion, and support for TrainingPeaks Virtual.
You can already change the percentage effort on mobile devices (and all other platforms) by clicking on the action bar at the bottom middle of the screen and then selecting the + or - buttons to increase / decrease difficulty accordingly.
If you have a keyboard, then you can also use the + / - hotkeys directly.

UI/UX: Rethink user experience to ease onboarding and use
A user of Rouvy for years, with dabbles in Zwift, Wahoo System, etc., and I’d largely settled on TrainerRoad for the past few years due to its clarity in use. Simple on screen graphics, informative, etc.
But it does get a bit boring, so I was excited to try the TPVirutal. Oooff. All notes are using iPad Pro with latest version.
- Login screen does not remember me, even when the box is checked. It’s a pain to have to login each time with user name and password. And using biometrics would be nice for login.
- Font selection is brutal. Looks…
12 votesMany thanks for your suggestions and support for TrainingPeaks Virtual.
I'm delighted to say that over the last year since this issue was raised, we've made a huge number of improvements to the UI and UX, including completely replacing the entire UI graphics, completely replacing the AppleTV controls and completely replacing the onboarding experience.
Whilst we'll continue to work on improving it, now feels like a good time to close this wider ticket down. Any further ideas for how to improve TrainingPeaks Virtual would of course be very warmly welcomed - please feel free to raise new issues with any suggestions you have!

HUB: Show selected active team in hub
When you are member of several teams, you sometimes forget to choose the correct team before entering an event.
"Active team: ???" could be in top right corner of hub.
And perhaps even in two lines with clothing/team kit name, though not that important as it can be changed in the start pen/during game.
Example:
Active Team: eCykle Klub Danmark
Team Kit / Clothing: Custom Horisontal StripeOr this info in the "Select Pairing" windows as this is last window before entering the event!
12 votesMany thanks for your suggestion, and support for TrainingPeaks Virtual.
I'm delighted to say that this has now been implemented in the latest release (v0.4.26, out this week). After logging in, there is now a new "home" screen shown which includes displaying your current active team.

make other riders invisible
I have often trained using a non-game type interface in which I can just see the numbers and I've found this very useful. can TPV introduce a feature to replicate this where you can make all of the other riders invisible so i can have the road to myself. Sometimes, particularly when training in z2 (ie most of the winter) it can be a major distraction if another rider overtakes you and you have to resist the urge to chase after them. A button that makes them invisible would be a great help. Many thanks. Jon

I'm delighted to say that this week's release (v0.4.8) now fully supports 'Zen Mode' where you can train in peace without seeing any other riders or chat.
Simply select Zen Mode from the Main Menu > UI Options > Zen Mode.

New FTP value in the TrainingPeaks Virtual Profile and in the Account Settings TrainingPeaks differ
After the FTP Test, the NEW FTP value in the TrainingPeaks Virtual Profile and in the Account Settings - Zones - Bike Power (TrainingPeaks Athlete) differ by several points.

BUG: Warmup and cooldowns not loading as ramps
Previously, warmups and cooldowns built with a power range loaded in TPV as a gradated ramp from low to high (or high to low for a cooldown), but now they just load as a constant power target.

I'm delighted to say that this has been implemented in the latest release (v0.4.36), and is now available on all platforms.

EVENTS: Add a second cadence sensor as backup
As it seems that there is zero tolerance from the performance verification when a cadence signal dropout occurs, and as cadence sensors are really cheap devices, I think it can be really helpful to be able to pair 2 cadence sensors so we have a backup in case of something going wrong and the PV will not kick us from the race.
11 votesMany thanks for your suggestion, and support for TrainingPeaks Virtual.
I'm delighted to say that there have been many improvements over the past 6 months since this issue was raised. These include making the pairing more stable & reliable, decreasing the sensitivity to drop outs, and reducing the penalty for not having cadence data when an event requires it to just putting the brakes on, enabling you to fix the issue rather than being automatically removed from the event.
Whilst we will continue to work on improving Performance Verification, now seems like a good time to close this wider issue. Further suggestions for how to make TrainingPeaks Virtual even better are warmly welcomed though - please just raise a new issue and we can take a look!

EVENTS: PV DQs warning first
For PV DQs for e.g. micro-bursting, give one warning before DQ. This would give inadvertent riders an opportunity to reflect and correct, but not unduly help those trying to game the system. (In fact in this situation the only way to game the system is to pedal in a more satisfactory style anyway)
11 votesMany thanks for your suggestion, and support for TrainingPeaks Virtual.
I'm delighted to say that there have been many improvements to Performance Verification over the past year since this issue was raised. In particular, we have reduced the penalty for not complying with many of the event requirements set by the organiser to just putting the brakes on, enabling you to fix the issue rather than being automatically removed from the event.
We've also improved the physics engine to completely eliminate Sticky-Watts / Micro-Bursting as a technique to gain an advantage (try it - you'll now go much slower, just as you would on a bike outdoors!).
Whilst we will continue to work on improving Performance Verification, now seems like a good time to close this wider issue. Further suggestions for how to make TrainingPeaks Virtual even better are warmly welcomed though - please just raise a new issue and…

UI/UX: Apple TV button colours
When using Apple TV you don’t have an option to click or touch the button. You have to select it using the remote control. At the moment using blue on blue it’s not clear as to which is the active button. It could do with a bright border in a contrasting colour.
11 votesMany thanks for your suggestion, and support for TrainingPeaks Virtual.
I'm delighted to say that this has now been implemented in the latest release (v0.4.26, out this week). There has been a complete overhaul of the menu UI and this includes making it much clearer where the AppleTV active location is by using a much brighter border colour as you suggested!
