Training Peaks Virtual does not switch from OFFLINE MODE to ONLINE MODE
If the connection with the server is briefly lost, Training Peaks Virtual attempts to Reconnect. If this fails, the session switches to OFFLINE MODE.
After this, even with normal operation of the Internet connection (tested more than once), the client does not return to ONLINE MODE, remaining in OFFLINE MODE until the end of workout.

I encountered the same problem yesterday and a few days earlier. I lost my network connection, the app switched to offline mode, and initially, it tried to reconnect, but later, when the network connection was restored, it didn’t reconnect. I also couldn’t force another connection attempt in any way. In Strava and TrainingPeaks, only about 15 minutes of the workout were recorded. Later, I had to manually upload the FIT files to have the full workout data in each app separately

I have the same experience. When network connectivity is back OK, the first part of the ride is uploaded to Strava etc. but I keep riding in "offline mode".
So at the end of my training I manually upload the fit file with the full work-out and have to delete the automatic upload by TPV
btw, it looks like a fairly new issue. I never had this issue before, only the last month or so. It worked perfectly with the same network setup ( using TPV/IndieVelo since April)

I just had this happen today in a 45 minute session which was only recorded as ~18 minutes, I guess when the connection dropped. It came back within seconds though, and there was no noticeable change in gameplay during that time so I didn't even thing about it. Super frustrating! Good to know you can manually upload them though!

Hello,
The TPV app, when Wi-Fi crashes during a workout, the app is unable to reconnect automatically once the Wi-Fi is up again. It forces you to stay offline for the remainder of the session. Every other app I have used, does not have this issue and I believe it is urgente you resolve this.

I have faced a black out during a workout (planned - not a free ride); returning into TPV & TV I noticed that the interrupted workout had been saved and I needed to start a new one to have a completed task. It should be nice to have the possibility to resume and continue the interrupted workout (especially if you are more that 75% done! ;) ). I thinks that a simple add on or substitution to the command of auto save in such event. Many thanks for your effort. cheers

Overall, my experience has been rather buggy. I think it has loads of potential, but at the moment it does have some issues. Some issues need to be addressed if i want to keep on using this when it becomes a paid service, others are minor.
Major issues are:
- Every time I've started TP virtual, I've been presented with an auto-update, that takes >5 minutes to install. It also starts-up in full-screen mode, which makes it hard to see if there any issues with e.g. your internet connection.
- The moment I briefly lose connection, TP virtual goes into offline mode and never comes out of it until I restart TP virtual (Even though my internet connection works fine again). However, it does upload the bit I biked before losing connection to TP and Strava once I regain connection. This means that after the workout, I need to delete my activies on TP and Strava, and manually reload the correct, full bike ride.
Minor issues:
- the timer freezes when the screen freezes/lags. First structured workout I did was 1h05m long, but TP virtual only counted 1h01m
- Stat counter doesn't work. Only the time I rode in 'online'-mode count, since TP virtual goes into offline mode during briefly lost internet connection and never comes out of it, the stat counter only has several minutes of ride time after 2-1h workouts. While this is not a game-breaking bug, either make sure a stat counter works, or don't provide us with one at all.
I really hope these issues can be fixed, so that I can keep on using TP virtual!
