How can we improve TrainingPeaks?

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

  1. Add support for syncing/importing Polar Swim Phases and correct polar swim metrics

    My Polar flow automatically detects the type of swimming stroke and the metrics. It also determines if I am having a rest and for how long. This is called swimming phases.

    Also, it would be great if TP could also use the actual moving time.

      Currently Polar does not send the swim stroke, rest time, or swimming phase information which is why it is not shown in TrainingPeaks. We continuously work with our partners to improve the data that is sent to TrainingPeaks, and have discussed this with Polar, but it is always best if they hear directly from their users. This can be done here: https://polar.uservoice.com/

    • Garmin labs running power support

      With the release of Garmin labs running power CIQ app for the Forerunner 935 and Fenix 5 is would be useful to display this in Training Peaks. I believe that this data is store in a custom developer field so we need a way to read this data in.

        Currently in TrainingPeaks, custom developer data stored in the .FIT file is not displayed, but this is something we are looking into.

        WKO4 does display developer data, including the Garmin Labs Run Power.

      • Training Timer in the App

        Would be nice if you could make a ”timer” on the actual work out.
        Click on start (could be a button next to "Completed as Planned") , then the “warm up” comes up, showing a down counter (remaining time of warm up) and what power/bpm you should follow in the warm up.
        In smaller text the next part of the training is vissible, ex: 5 min @ 320w.
        And so on until the work out is finished.

        Now I need to keep in mind “how many repeats have I done, was it 12 or 13?” Maybe does'nt matter but .....

          • WKO4 and TP- Age Graded Profile for Runners and Swimmers for various distances

            I am envisioning a similar tool to the Power Profile with distinct duration's but for for running and swimming distances. Specific to running, there is a TON of data out there for different Age Groups and times for all of the track distances as well as 5k, 10k, Half Marathon and Marathon. Having a profile for pace (and soon power) at each of these different duration's for various levels of competition (or as in running Age Grading) can enable you to see strengths and weaknesses and what distances might better suit you and what might be limiting you.             • Do not automatically adjust TSS if TSS was entered manually

              NGP grossly underestimates the energy cost of steep runs. As such, TSS needs to be recorded as hrTSS via the Other workout type and/or manually adjusted.

              But then if the workout type is changed to Run later on, TP automatically applies rTSS and removes the manual adjustment. This is annoying and creates extra work.

              It's valuable to change these workouts to Run so that the hours-per-activity stats are correct. But automatically changing the TSS is unhelpful.

              It'd be ideal if TP would recognize when TSS has been manually adjusted, and then leave it alone thereafter, even if the workout type…

              • Accurate data - Moving pace only

                hi - can you set the default for uploaded rides from garmin to calculate the moving time only!! The same way that strava does. And so maintaining accurate average speed etc. It is really annoying as when I upload rides for training purposes for my coach then the data is inaccurate.

                • Ability to upload structured workouts from TrainingPeaks to my Polar devices

                  I believe that having the ability to upload structured workouts to my Polar device could be a valuable feature for TrainingPeaks athletes. I would very much enjoy the ability to move a structured workout to either my iphone or my polar heart rate monitor.

                        • Workout Builder -> Past Performance Integration

                          I have been using the Workout Builder with success but as it stands, though a great addition, I feel that it lacks an important feature which is presently available in the likes of PerfPRO Studio.

                          The feature I would like to see within TrainingPeaks is the ability to take a previous ride, particularly an outdoor ride, and have the power data in that ride converted into a workout which can then be ridden on a platform such as Zwift using the current excellent TrainingPeaks + Zwift integration.

                          Such an option would be invaluable for those of us where the winters…

                            The Best Bike Split Workout File Creator allows you to upload a .TCX, .PWX or .FIT file with power data to create a representative .ERG or Zwift file for use with compatible indoor training software. There are no immediate plans to incorporate this functionality into TrainingPeaks. We will keep you posted if and when we do.

                          • Fix running cadence

                            Running cadence should be spm (steps per minute) and when imported from Garmin, it's half what it should be.
                            Every other web application gets this right, Strava, Garmin, Final Surge, Vdoto2.
                            I've filed a bug report email and was told, that's the way it is, maybe get fixed some day.

                              There seems to be limit of 36 hours per week of training time. I have multi-day races that will go beyond that, it would be nice to see them on the chart just for scale to compare training time. This is related to another feedback I posted about multi-day events are needed.

                                I would like to be able to add goals without having to set a date. For example i would like to add some famuos climbs to my goals, but i have no idea when i'm going to get a chance to ride them.

                                • For Garmin (935) TP Workout application only shows target zone. Please add prescribed HR/Pace target as written in the workout builder

                                  When athlete pulls up the workout on the watch, it currently only shows them the target zone, but not the specific HR/pace target set by coach in workout builder.

                                      • Multiple CTL plots on same PMC

                                        I would like to pick two dates (ie two A races) and see the CTL plot leading up to both of them on the same PMC. For example, the 365 days leading up to this year's ironman and the 365 days leading up to next year's ironman.

                                        It would help in planning ahead, and for evaluating progress.

                                          When swimming in the pool, we are depending on our watches (in my case a Polar V800) to correctly measure distance and time in order to have a correct sTSS estimate.
                                          As you can see in the screenshot attached, my watch is more often than not a bit wonky in its measurements. It should have been a plain simple 6*500m swim with 30sec rest. Except for the first and second swim (miscount on my behalf), it doesn't even come close. Hence, the sTSS doesn't come close either.
                                          The proposition I would make is to enable field editing in the Laps…
