How can we improve TrainingPeaks?

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

  1. Performance Management Chart metrics (Fitness, Fatigue, Form)

    On September 7th the decimal points where removed from the PMC metrics.

    I appreciate that this has been done for a reason.

    Therefore I think an option in settings to use decimal points (or not) is the best option for moving forward?

    I really would like the decimal points back!
    Personally I feel not having them provides inaccurate current information.

    • Create indoor rowing activity and connection with float app

      Currently there is only one rowing workout type available but almost all rowers split their training between rowing on the water and on the ergos. It would be great if you could create a new workout type for indoor rowing so that the graphs will show the difference as the speeds are usually quite different between the two types of training.

      Also, there is an app called Float, by ErgStick, which records all the data from the Concept2 machines and uploads it to the cloud. Could you provide the abbility to download these files off the float cloud and link…

      • Include power profile rankings for masters age groups

        It would be great to see how I rank in the power profiles against my peers in masters categories. Rather than be compared to elite and young riders it would be very interesting to provide data on the ability of masters cyclists

        • Improve iOS App Icon

          Love the app, but the icon is the poorest of any of those I have in my Dock. Letters (“TP”) are a bit of a cop-out! (And I don’t know how internationalization works.) Surely a more visual icon could be put together pretty easily, perhaps showing some ATL/CTL/TSB lines.

            Extend your iOS support to include Apple Watch. I frequently used TP plans in the past and used the Garmin software to send the TCX files to my watch until Garmin phased that out and make it an unworkable solution. Now they've left the door open for TP to make an Apple Watch app where your daily workout could be done right there on your Apple Watch including all of your pacing data, intervals, and the like and sync the workout to TP natively without any extra hoops.             • Additional Data from Apple Health

              Would be great to get additional data from Apple health into TrainingPeaks.

              Data fields such as: weight, BMI, blood pressure, heart rate, sleep analysis, etc should be straightforward for TrainingPeaks to read.

              • VO2MAX and FTP in Main PM chart.

                I would like to see my VO2MAX both from Run and Ride as a separate curve in my PM overall chart. The same for my FTP. All values come directly form my Garmin devices and should automatically go to the chart. It would help me to see if my training push these values or if I just train without any progress. This would help me to see if I am close to an over training situation or if I run into a health issues.

                • Define or change Map/Graph selections in iOS app

                  When I access the App via a web browser I can add, define and change selections in the Map/Graph view - this is great for highlighting key areas of a race or areas of concern to my coach, or trimming an ITT to just the race data for more accurate data of just the race effort.

                  I can define a selection using the mobile app but I can't seem to save it (either You can't or I'm missing the obvious)

                    As a coach, you sometimes want to add remarks that can not be altered or deleted by the clients such as:
                    - payment: when started, when ended
                    - intake notes
                    - specific remarks

                    Espacially for the payment a box should be interesting and if possible also with date reminder-notification

                    • Variability in workouts

                      Would like to see an indicator for variability in intensity of workouts during a certain period. Something like an average intensity factor divided by the standard deviation of the intensity factors of selected or all workouts in a given period (week or month). A lower factor/percentage represents more variation in intensity or more polarization.

                        Would suggest the possible to view and track (charts with trendline) the development overtime in the power to heart rate relation, fx like the PWC130, PWC150 and PWC170 charts in Cyclinganalytics.

                        • Seeing the IF next to the TSS on the workout calendar

                          Hi there -

                          I like the workout calendar for the ability to see what the TSS of a workout is when building my athletes' training blocks, but I think it would also be great to see what the IF of a workout is next to the TSS. This would make building a plan easier and would save an extra step in needing to click the workout to see what the IF is.

                              The ability to create custom zones is a big help, especially when those zones, with their custom labels, are visible within workouts.

                              In the Dashboard however, the custom zone structure is presented, but not the custom labels. This makes for confusion and extra mental overhead when translating back and forth. Applying the custom zone labels to Dashboard reports (as they are applied in workouts) would be a big help.

                              • Change Metric Activity Type to Behave Like Workout Activity Types Re: Notifications and Comments

                                If an athlete enters data into a metrics "activity type" it does not currently trigger any of the normal post workout notifications. In addition, you are only allowed to enter one field of notes. From a coach perspective, a common use case is to leave a blank metric activity type on an athlete's schedule with instructions to enter certain values and then in turn be able to comment on any notes the athlete left similar to other workout types.

                                  • I would like to see customisation of the power range in the Workout Builder. I want to be able to put 5 minutes at between 300-320 watts

                                    I want to be able to build a workout with varying power outputs, not as a percentage but as 300-320w for 8 minutes. I don't want to d any math while riding!! :P

                                      • More 'Sport' options for selling training plans

                                        As the endurance market continues to grow and transition, it would be helpful to have more specific 'sport' options to sell training plans and allow athletes to locate plans for purchase. For example, there is no option for aquathlon or swimrun. It's hard to code these specific training plans otherwise (for example: under duathlon or 'other'). Thank you for your consideration.

                                        • Full Control Over ATP Periods

                                          When I set up a manual ATP, I would like total control over the period names and durations. For example, I find TrainerRoad to be a very effective training tool and I would like to plot their plans in my ATP. However, at the moment I am restricted to 3 x 4 week periods in the Base section of a manual ATP; I would to be able to change this to 2 x week periods, for example. The same would then apply to Build periods and so on.
