Provide both indoor and outdoor power zones for cycling
My outdoor FTP is 216 watts, but my indoor FTP is 182 watts! That is two entire power zones different. Much of that difference is due to using two separate power meters, but this difference in power measurement is a common situation. Unfortunately this makes my power zones wildly inaccurate when I switch between indoor and outdoor rides. The difference in power zones is so great that I can't really use the TP analysis tools for both types of rides. So, I would like there to be both indoor cycling and outdoor cycling with different power zones applied. And, there should be an option to add up all types of cycling to get a total for the week. As a workaround I used Mountain Biking and applied indoor power zones to that. But I also ride mountain bike so now I can't track my mountain bike rides.
Thank you for the feedback. This is a common request and has been added to that project’s feedback.
Future opportunities have not been added to our road map yet, but we are actively collecting feedback which contributes to the prioritization process. We do not want to set up false expectations and want to make sure that there is awareness that this update currently is not prioritized and does not have an ETA.

I added 'mountain bike' as a second FTP setup. Even though this is for my athletes indoor Zwift workouts. When I assign an indoor workout, I make sure the mtb icon is selected instead of 'bike' (which has their outdoor FTP setup
0. It is a pain to remember, but right now that is the only option I found. -

add indoor bike power FTP zones please
we know that indoor power FTP is quite different from outdoor power FTP and zones, and can be as much as 30 watts lower inside, from increased heat, increased resistance, lower joint and biomechanics to be able to produce the same level of power as outside, not least notably referenced in Joe Frield book Ride Inside.
I can see this topic has been posted and asked about before, is there a timeline to implement please?
I know lots of other platforms already have this, which are also AI based, and also that WKO5 tracks indoor power.
Surely it can't be too difficult to just add this in quickly, especially as the training landscape has changed considerably with online cycling platforms being used all year around now, like Zwift, Rouvy, Fulgaz, Wahoo Systm
I'm not sure why training peaks is behind the curve on this topic, would someone at TP be able to comment please and let me and the coaches know more ?
Thanks

Create the possibility to add two diferent FTPs power zones (INDOOR AND OUTDOOR)
I need to use two diferent FTP power zones, one for indoor on road bike and other for outdoors on triathlon bike (TT) but there are only "Bike" and "MTB" option to set power zones.

Still waiting for an update on this suggestion! Gotta have the ability to set power zones for indoor/virtual rides differently from outdoor rides.

Come on guys, this is a very important feature that can be easily implemented. The differentiation between distinct powermeters and accordingly FTPs is of upmost importance for athletes using TP.

Shame North added this suggestion in October 2020 and still there is no ETA for this project. Other cheaper apps add constantly useful features but TP...

I don't have a MTB so I use that for all my indoor cycling which means different ftp settings.
Hopefully TrainingPeaks will add a separate entry for indoor/static riding, sooner rather than later. -

I like many of the people I know who use training peaks all have a number of different bikes and therefore power meters, I know that most of mine are within a couple of % compared to my Tacx Neo 2 which I use as my baseline, but I also know I have one that is 6-7% out. It would be good to be able to assign a value to each power meter that either reduces or increases the power accordingly so you're ensuring the TSS is accurate for each workout I do without having to manually manipulate the file within fitfiletools. This feature has been present in todays plan for a number of years, but has not made its way into TP yet.

Power zones to be accurate to what bike they ride... Long Course Triathlon Bike Fitting... Gravel Bike Fitting... Road Bike Fitting... Mountain Bike Fitting. One person can have multiple bike Fittings... Thresholds are different.

Nowadays not only because of covid but simply because of all the interesting platforms and the benefits of being able to have serious controlled interval trainings in a safe environment. Combining the indoor and outdoor is very common for many good reasons. However the FTP between indoor and outdoor has a material difference of on average 15%. Its difficult to plan workouts with the aim to have a certain TSS level based on whatever plan is used. I don't have to explain to the experts the inconveniences for the coaches as well as for the cyclists/tri-athletes. Either not hitting the target for real or a burnout.
There Is indoor swimming and outdoor swimming and similar for running etc etc. There is the possibility of having threshold heart rate for running and cycling individually.
Why not have a clear distinction between indoor and outdoor biking with separate FTP to which the tss can be measured and and workouts can be created.
the next step/level would be to have it more agile and have the workout created based on standard outdoor. When the riders decides to execute this indoor the workout will be downsized proportionally based on the correct indoor FTP and have appropriate fun on Zwift or souvy or whatever platform available.
