UI/UX: "climb pro" like feature
The profile of the course is shown on the bottom, but its hard to evaluate the difficulty of the next slope and the actual length. It would be great if some pop-up information would appear 30 seconds before the start of the climb indicating mean slope % and length of the climb.

A must for gpxplore!

The relatively new Zwift gradient profile pop up (similar to what Jamie proposes) was a real game changer improvement for Zwift racing, helping racers navigate unfamiliar routes/plan attacks etc. Totally support this. 5km may be quite big. The zwift one moves as you move then disappears when the saod gradient (eg 4% or more finishes).

If it s good for you Jamie it s good for me :-))

Been saying this since I got here 2 and a bit years ago. Worked well in RGT. Works well in Rouvy. Makes up for not really being able to judge a slope/crest well on a computer screen vs IRL.

When riding or racing a long route or route with multiple laps the gradient gets very compressed and loses a lot of small detail once this happens, this is even more noticeable now GPXplore is now a thing.
My proposal is a gradient profile under the mini-map that shows the next 5km with your position always being 1km in so effectively the next 4km with the last 1km behind you. I have mocked it up to make it clearer

Currently when free riding the gradient graph works pretty well; however when you're doing a route the entire route graph is displayed and you lose the detail of the nearby grade.

I have really enjoyed this both on my Garmin and on Zwift. Would be a good addition, but I wouldn't put it ahead of some other bigger development priorities.

I support this idea. BigRingVR has a nice rolling graph of the upcoming kilometer showing gradient changes in detail. It would be great to avoid fumbling around trying to get into the right virtual gear for the climbs.

Allow for zoom/change of scale of graphs like elevation/distance. Right now, when riding, I'd like to see the ENTIRE course I'm going to ride, and, be able to zoom in on the scale/view of the profile for more detail. I've had instances where the course has ended, and I had no idea it was going to end. Also, there should always be a distance marker on the course in the unit (imperial vs metric) as selected in the default config settings. Things seem to shift from course to course (some show distance in m and others in miles).

I really like how Rouvy does elevation graphs. The overall elevation graph is great to see what is ahead over the course of the route but having a zoomed portion of the next 500-ish meters ,with a colour coded graph, would be very helpful. Zwift has implemented something like this but it not granular enough to show the fine changes like Rouvy does.

Perhaps just showing a small graph with the slope to come and its lenght (only graphically expressed), or this info embedded into an existing graph, would be enough.
