Been trying to use TPV for 2 weeks now, and in 5-6 rides I tried, managed to ride only once without any issues. Apple Mac with M1 chip. ANT+ dongle with extension cord lying under my bike. Here are some major ones:

ANT+ is a gamble. You open TPV and pray to gods that this time ant+ works. Most of the time it doesn't. Icon is grayed out, none of the equipment is visible. Impossible to ride, so I open zwift where my equipment is instantly connected and complete my training there.

HRM is disconnecting constantly. Not sure why only HRM (Wahoo TICKR), but it keeps disconnecting. Every 10s or so, it just disconnects. I have to open pairing window and connect it. After 10s it just disconnects again. Once again, same HRM on zwift works fine.

Power keeps dropping out. If I manage to connect my equipment and get on the road, power keeps dropping to zero every 15-20s. Sometimes it lasts 2s, sometimes it lasts 10s. I'm aware that the explanation is that "other applications just fill the gaps, it happens everywhere you just don't see it." Even if power disappearing is a thing on another applications (which I doubt), filling the gaps so the user doesn't see it is a correct way to tackle the issue.

1 minor issue/annoyance:

Every sound setting is set to 0, yet whenever I'm riding next to the coast, wind howls through my earphones.

This is my experience. Equipment connection issues are major blockers to use TPV and I will probably switch to some other application. Can't be bothered with re-plugging dongles, restarting applications and machine multiple times hoping for it to work.

I recently joined TrainingPeaks Virtual after getting annoyed with the cost of Zwift. I use a Tacx Neo 2 smart trainer and a Garmin chest strap heart rate monitor on a Macbook. The Neo 2 connects via Bluetooth without any issues at all but the ANT+ connection for HR doesn’t work. I also have a Garmin Fenix5 which when put in broadcast mode is also not recognised.

Do you have any suggestions?
