Issues with Power and cadence readings and a suggestion re routes
Have use TPV twice. Generally impressed but two glitches and one suggestion.
1) Power - When doing ERG power based sessions keep getting alerts that power has dropped 30 watts when there is no apparent cause for this.
2) Cadence - first ride the recorded cadence was often 20rpm higher than it should be then dropped back to the correct level. Second session - cadence was generally 20rpm higher for most of the session.
Suggestion - I was doing a Recovery 1 hour session today and the route (chosen automatically) was very hilly. As a result I was crawling up hills at about 5kph because of the ERG power setting and my average speed was 13kph - definitely not good for my ego. Can I suggest that for recovery / endurance rides you choose a flat course!
Many thanks for your suggestions and support for TrainingPeaks Virtual.
Actually, all of these are already fully implemented.
1 & 2) By default TrainingPeaks Virtual shows the raw data being broadcast by your paired devices. For some makes/models of trainer/cadence sensor these can be quite erratic, and so TrainingPeaks Virtual offers the ability to instead show smoothed average values which will be much more stable. Simply select this option from the Main Menu > Options > UI Settings menu.
3) For the route, then you can select this from the main menu. Just pick whatever route you want from the list shown, and then select to ride your workout and it will take you along whatever route you chose.

Thanks for the reply but your answer does not address the issue that I have been experiencing. The UI for my interval session shows both a target for watts and the reading from my power meter. The first two intervals worked perfectly but the remaining intervals were constantly interrupted by messages that my watts were 20/30w below target whilst the power meter reading showed that if anything I was above target. Please help with this because the session ended up as a farce. I'd also appreciate it if you would email your response as well as posting it here as I wasn't aware that you had replied to my previous post!
