  1. I would love to see a companion app developed to have ride manipulation more accessible on the bike.

Many thanks for your suggestion and support for TrainingPeaks Virtual.

I'm delighted to say that this week's release (v0.4.18) introduces the first public release of the TrainingPeaks Hub mobile app (available on both the Apple AppStore and Google Play Store).

Simply download and you can then access key functions (such as in-world chat, and viewing / signing up to events) using your phone.

We will continue to expand the function available through the Hub app over the coming weeks and months ahead - including adding a second screen to view your live data, in-world controls (such as junction direction selection) and Bluetooth bridging. Please feel free to raise any of your suggestions for enhancements on UserVoice as we'd love to hear from you, and then build for you, the experiences that committed athletes want and need.

  2. During a free ride, it should be possible to turn on ERG and lock it to your current power, and then you can shift the ERG value up/down 5w with another key. Functioning much like cruise control on a car.

This has many practical benefits - it means you can execute a flexible erg workout whilst free riding, for example ERG on the flat and then turn it off for a climb, and then back on. It would also allow you to maintain a certain power whilst you are distracted with something else.

Many thanks everyone for this suggestion, and your support for TrainingPeaks Virtual.

I'm delighted to say that the latest release out today (v0.4.24) now fully supports Cruise Control mode. Simply select by clicking on the Cruise Control icon on the action bar at the bottom of the screen (or if you're using a keyboard, then the hotkey 'C' will also work) to engage Cruise Control.

Power level can be easily adjusted using the +/- icons / hotkeys (the same as for Virtual Gearing) and will change in 5 Watt steps for single presses, and 10W increments if you repeatedly press quickly.

  3. My personal concern is the lack of différent possible world. I am just starting to ride on TPV and I am afraid it could be boring to ride on the same road all the time. I would also appreciate some longer courses with différent slopes.

I'm delighted to say that the latest release (v0.4.27 - which is out today), introduces a brand new experience - GPXplore.- that enables you to ride any route you like simply by uploading a GPX file, exactly as you suggest.

Initially we've opened up testing of GPXplore to everyone with a number of iconic "World Routes", and will rollout the ability to upload your own routes over the course of September. Thank you again for your suggestion, and hope that you enjoy riding whatever routes you want, whenever you want, on TrainingPeaks Virtual.

  4. I'm a triathlete and I travel alot abrought to compeet in T100 or 70.3 races. It would be nice to import the gpx-files of these races into TP Virtual and ride the course with all elevations. Something like a combination of Best Bike Split and TP Virtual.
I don't care if the TP Virtual landscape would not match the elevation of the gpx-track.

  5. It would be amazing to be able to plot your own course for an event. This would open up a lot of opportunities for different types of workouts. We could create new, dynamic race courses that would add a lot of flavor to the existing roads.

A secondary, and maybe easier, implementation of this would be the ability to link courses. This way, you could do a longer route and then finish on a circuit to get the distance you wanted. Or, warmup with 8 laps on the velodrome before setting out.

  6. Create a web site with all route maps - their detailed description and profile.
Ideally, it should be interactive - similar to https://zwiftmap.com/ or at least as informative as route descriptions on Zwift Insider.
Why - not everybody races, some people just workout or do social rides and it would very beneficial to be able to check routes before riding and navigate around without predefined routes as well.

I'm delighted to say that this has now been fully implemented. Simply go to https://tpvirtualhub.com/map and you can see all the routes together with the description, course profile etc.

  7. It would be nice if the training zones would sync up with the training zones you have input on training peaks account automatically rather than input each individually

Automatic sync of data between TrainingPeaks and TrainingPeaks Virtual (e.g. Name, FTP, TrainingZones, Weight etc) is now available in v0.4.4!

  8. Given the realistic braking and positioning physics, it would be great to have a crit course with 90 degree turns. Would also be great for training as you would need to hammer out of each turn.

I'm delighted to say that the latest release (v0.4.26, out this week) includes 7 new crit courses over a variety of lengths and difficulties which should give some amazing opportunities for events!

  9. The magic road in RGT was a good concept to be able to create custom routes based on existing GPX files (minus the manual smoothing of gradients and turns). However, the randomly generated landscape and roads (with no intersections) made it almost non recognizable even for riders that had ridden on the actual route. If with the help of AI, data from Google Maps (for road names), satellite images and street view, the surrounding landscape and intersections, etc. could be generated to be close enough so users could recognize in which part of the route they are at or enjoy…

  10. First - great job George Gilbert creating IV all by yourself. I've been Zwifting for years, recently switched to MyWhoosh because of being unhappy with various things Zwift and the monthly price and now am giving IV a try. Enjoying it.

I imagine it is in the works, but it would be nice to see new content. A Grand Day Out covers about 40% of the map. New content, some longer routes, that would tick off 100 km or 100 mile challenges. But routes that are either loops or figures eights. Routes where you are not just repeating the same…

  11. My workouts in TrainingPeaks set a power range for long intervals (eg: 125-165w for 60mins). When they appear in TP Virtual, the ranges are changed to slopes (eg: start at 125w then gradually increase to 165w over 60mins).
I'd much rather ride these intervals at a fixed power using ERG mode rather than have it gradually increase or decrease.
Other platforms deal with this by using the middle value of the range as the set power for the entire duration instead of using a slope.

I'm delighted to say that this week's release (v0.4.18) now fully supports workouts with ranges for power, cadence and heartrate.

When specifying a range for a given interval (e.g. 180 - 200 Watts) in a workout, TrainingPeaks Virtual will now both explicitly display that range for the interval, as well as only display alerts if you go outside of that range. When using ERG mode for either power based, or heartrate based, workouts, then the trainer resistance will be automatically adjusted to keep you close to the mid-point of the range.

  13. Activate the clicking on the remote. At the moment only the swiping is working correctly but it would help if the clicking with the remote works as expected to move to the next button or screen

I'm delighted to say that this has now been implemented in the latest release (v0.4.10) which is out today. This release significantly reworks the Apple TV remote support, including enabling the button clicks on Gen2 & Gen3 Siri remotes, and support for "Click Only" mode on AppleTV 4K devices.

This should significantly improve menu navigation on AppleTV with the AppleTV remote.

As an alternative, you may also be interested to know that TrainingPeaks Virtual additionally fully supports game controllers (e.g. XBox / Playstation etc) being paired to AppleTV which will therefore give you a much greater number of buttons / joysticks etc to control "hotkeys" when riding and navigating menus.

  14. Allow Heart Rate based workouts to be pulled into platform to provide suggestions that automatically start in Free ride mode. Screen prompts for HR range Rx.

I'm delighted to say that the latest release (v0.4.14) out today fully supports HR based workouts. Simply create a workout in TrainingPeaks online using your heartrate to set the intensity of each interval and then it will automatically synchronise across to TrainingPeaks Virtual where you can then ride it.

Further, TrainingPeaks Virtual now also fully supports ERG mode for HR workouts, which means that it will automatically adjust the resistance of your trainer for you to compensate for fatigue / cardiac drift and ensure that your heartrate remains at the right level for your workout.

This is perfect for long, low intensity, recovery or endurance rides to ensure that you don't over-do it and get the maximum intended benefit from your ride.

  15. I would like to be able to switch routes mid-ride without having to save and start over. The use case for this is that I have completed a route, e.g., for the first time, and now want to tackle something else. Another use case would be switching between hilly and flat routes depending on training needs, e.g., warm up and then intervals.

I'm delighted to say that this has now been implemented in the latest release (v0.4.11) which is out today.  This adds a new option to the Action menu bar at the bottom middle of the screen to enable you to select a new route at any time. When selected, you'll immediately be teleported to the start of the route and can immediately ride from there.

This new feature can be triggered in the middle of a workout without interrupting it, and both (or more!) routes that you ride will all be contained within the same FIT file.

  16. Loaded TPV and selected a ride.
Had to answer a call. Clock time and all looked correct except AP and NP seemed a bit off.
After the workout was saved to TP I had 30 minutes of blank time that was factored into the AP NP calcs.

This feature has now been implemented, and will be available in v0.4.5 which is out now on PC, Mac and Android, and will be available on iOS / AppleTV once approved by Apple for release in the AppStore (typically 24-48 hours later).

  17. Two screens of selecting type of login and then user are unnecessary.
Just log in automaticaly and have an option to logout somewhere inside.

This feature has now been implemented, and will be available in v0.4.4 which is out now on all platforms.

  18. Navigation on Apple TV is rather difficult. The UI seems overly sensitive to switching fields compared to Zwift. I try to swipe down to get to the next field, but it goes 2-3 fields ahead. It was similar when using the remote app on the phone as well. This is obviously not an issue for a computer that has a mouse, or touch screen display.

Likewise, using left/right/up/down to navigate the UI doesn’t always seem to go to the next field that seems intuitive.

I'm delighted to say that this week's release (v0.4.18) resolves the issues with the AppleTV remote.

Simply download the new TrainingPeaks Hub mobile app (available on both the Apple AppStore and Google Play Store), and use the built-in remote control function. This completely replaces the AppleTV remote, and enables you to easily and quickly navigate menus and enter text using your phone - a truly game-changing experience when using AppleTV.

  19. I recently reviewed the application but found it only accessible via computer, without an iOS version available for Apple TV that could link to mobile devices. This functionality is offered by Zwift, but unfortunately, I couldn’t find a similar feature in TrainingPeaks Virtual. This limitation prevented me from fully using the software, as I was unable to link my Wahoo KICKR trainer to my Mac. Expanding compatibility to include an iOS version with Apple TV connectivity would significantly enhance usability for users with similar setups.

I'm pleased to say that TrainingPeaks Virtual is now freely available on Android, iOS (iPad / iPhone) and AppleTV from their respective App Stores.

  20. It would be nice to have a description with profile of course when selecting one to ride rather than just a list of meaningless names.

I'm delighted to say that this is now fully supported in the latest release. Wherever you need to select a route (for example, when confirming a route to ride for a workout, or configuring your own new event) then it will now show you a picture of the route profile, as well as the name of the route.
