Don't start the workout until the rider first pedals.
Loaded TPV and selected a ride.
Had to answer a call. Clock time and all looked correct except AP and NP seemed a bit off.
After the workout was saved to TP I had 30 minutes of blank time that was factored into the AP NP calcs.
Many thanks for your suggestion, comments and wider support for TrainingPeaks Virtual.
This feature has now been implemented, and will be available in v0.4.5 which is out now on PC, Mac and Android, and will be available on iOS / AppleTV once approved by Apple for release in the AppStore (typically 24-48 hours later).

A start button would be a good thing. It is fine as is for the most part, but I too sense a lack of control in this regard.

when i login to tpv and ride a custom workout (ZWO), what gets transferred to TP is the entire time i am on TPV. what we should have is, for a 60 min ZWO workout, is transfer the ride from the initial pedal stroke to the end of the ride. for a 60 min zwo, i might not start for 5 min. so right now, the transfer to TP includes the 5 min of non-riding at at start and that whacks the stats for your 60 min ride...

I did a ride last night and used fixed (matches flat road) and that worked well for me.
The ride was 1:08 hrs long, I did notice when I looked on Training Peaks it showed as 1:13 hrs I assume this is due to the timer starts when the ride is first downloaded, not when you start peddling which is the case in Zwift. The problem with this is that then it averages out my stats eg Watts over the extra time and then they are incorrect.
The ride was also uploaded to Strava however it was the correct time of 1:08 hrs there by having an inconsistency which is a little annoying. Maybe this is something that can be looked at?
