Add staggered start capability for Team Time Trial and Chase Race style events
As the TPV TTT League participation grows we have more suggested feature enhancements that will increase appeal with the added benefit that they are closely akin to another popular event type: Chase Racing making for potentially broader, high impact enhancements for the community.
The most requested enhancements for TTT are:
- Visibility of other teams as we race in a TTT (ghost form or normally appearing avatars)
- Preferably no draft between teams as one passes another but optional inclusion of inter-team drafting
- Staggered start times between teams based on team ARR or perhaps organizer chosen gap times
- TT style bikes, kit, and rider position (visual only no physics)
- More route options or route start position freedom
- Advanced bot AI behavior for TTT including rotating pulls
- Spectator view across all teams in a TTT
- Continuous live gap reporting rather than only at checkpoints
Many of those enhancements would enable a popular new event type for TPV: Chase Racing
- ARR used to form groups based on human (or human+bot) participant ability
- Start times staggered by predicted ARR that would lead to all groups predicted to finish together
- Visibility between groups as ghost avatars or normal avatars
- Assigned chase group number jersey option
- Drafting between groups allowed or disallowed by organizer choice

Hare & Hounds type of chase races are so much fun. A whole different dimension to a TTT and regular racing.

The ability to do similar for bunch races would be cool, then organisers could run handicap events. Where the organiser decides how many groups and time gaps and the game engine automatically puts riders in groups based on ranking.

Also the ability to “communicate” with your TT bots. A few buttons that effectively say to the bots “take a pull”, “come off”, etc
Maybe this would require clicking on the name of the bot you are wanting to “talk” to or something?

Very relevant and reasonable requests!
