MECHANICS: Training Peaks Virtual does not switch from OFFLINE MODE to ONLINE MODE
If the connection with the server is briefly lost, Training Peaks Virtual attempts to Reconnect. If this fails, the session switches to OFFLINE MODE.
After this, even with normal operation of the Internet connection (tested more than once), the client does not return to ONLINE MODE, remaining in OFFLINE MODE until the end of workout.

I have this all the time, my computer does not lose internet connection… this really needs to be fixed.. other platforms do not have this issue.. I really like TPV but this is becoming really frustrating

Same issue as the other posters here, had a bunch of workouts drop into offline mode half way through. Then had to manually move the .FIT file to my Training Peaks. Come on TPV, this needs fixing or I'm heading back to Zwift.

Is the main reason i swithed back to previous virtual software , since I'm always loosing the intener and the history of my workouts as well. There is the option to upload them from smart watch or Garmin gadget but is much prefferable to do it once avoiding erasing the duplication.

Dear TP Support.
I’m experiencing an issue with saving my training sessions. Due to an unstable internet connection, I occasionally get disconnected for a few minutes. When this happens, the system switches to offline mode and auto-saves the session prematurely—only capturing the initial minutes before the interruption. Is there a way to ensure the session is saved at the end of the training instead of at the point of disconnection? For reference, I’m typically reconnected within 5 minutes.
Thank you in advance for your support.

I had the same, but I run it on apple tv, so no way to get the files from the device after the workout. Zwift managed to continue recording and upload full ride. This needs to be fixed asap otherwise will not be a reliable option. I train in my basement and despite best effort on wifi, I do have some issues from time to time.

This has happened to me multiple times. When TP Virtual is disconnected from the server mid ride, it prematurely uploads the ride midway to TP when it gets reconnected to the server.

After a network disconnect TPC will search for a network connection for a short time. Can this time be extended to the duration of the ride. Having a network drop in the first 10 minutes of a 1.5 hour workout makes for a very long quiet ride. I would expect TPV to reconnect once network is restored. I know this is not practical for racing.

I have this almost every time now. An annoying bug. There is a workaround: you can upload your completed workout from your hard drive to trainingpeaks, but it shouldn’t be necessary. The location on your harddrive can be found here https://help.trainingpeaks.com/hc/en-us/articles/31340616175373-TrainingPeaks-Virtual-FIT-Files-Dual-Recording#:~:text=Your%20FIT%20file%20can%20be,TPVirtual%2F%2FFitFiles

I have been using TP Virtual for three weeks now and twice the wko was saved to TP while I was still at it. This weekend I had to make a pause, ant it also saved automatically. This is becoming a problem since I can't get the entire wko saved. I've started to used my Garmin in parallel to make sure I have a backup. Not ideal.

Hello, is it normal for us to lose contact with the Trainingpeaks Virtual server, even though we still have internet? Why is it that during a training session, if we go offline, the final kms are not recorded, although they continue to count during the training. Thanks

When TP virtual loses internet connection, it doesn't get it back and then loses the rest of the workout. Zwift was able to reconnect, not being able to is a real issue. I saw another comment where the reply was that your device will hold the FIT file, but not everyone uses a device with TP virtual, so that doesn't help. This would be a reason to switch back to Zwift, as our local internet is not 100% reliable!

This is important! Happened with me this week, it uploaded a half workout, I had to delete, copy the fit file from device and reupload.

It has been common for the app to go into offline mode during my training. When this happens, what I have done until it happens is published in my linked apps (TP, strava...), and at the end of the training I receive a notification that the file with the complete training has been saved and can be uploaded manualy to my linked apps.
I understand that the best thing is not to publish the partial file, and at the end of the training the TPV app tries to reconnect and return to online status and only then upload the complete training file automaticaly.
Another thing, I would like the TPV to periodically try to return to online mode when it goes into offline mode, since online mode is much more fun to use due to the presence of other cyclists on the circuit.

I encountered the same problem yesterday and a few days earlier. I lost my network connection, the app switched to offline mode, and initially, it tried to reconnect, but later, when the network connection was restored, it didn’t reconnect. I also couldn’t force another connection attempt in any way. In Strava and TrainingPeaks, only about 15 minutes of the workout were recorded. Later, I had to manually upload the FIT files to have the full workout data in each app separately

I have the same experience. When network connectivity is back OK, the first part of the ride is uploaded to Strava etc. but I keep riding in "offline mode".
So at the end of my training I manually upload the fit file with the full work-out and have to delete the automatic upload by TPV
btw, it looks like a fairly new issue. I never had this issue before, only the last month or so. It worked perfectly with the same network setup ( using TPV/IndieVelo since April)

I just had this happen today in a 45 minute session which was only recorded as ~18 minutes, I guess when the connection dropped. It came back within seconds though, and there was no noticeable change in gameplay during that time so I didn't even thing about it. Super frustrating! Good to know you can manually upload them though!

Hello,
The TPV app, when Wi-Fi crashes during a workout, the app is unable to reconnect automatically once the Wi-Fi is up again. It forces you to stay offline for the remainder of the session. Every other app I have used, does not have this issue and I believe it is urgente you resolve this.

I have faced a black out during a workout (planned - not a free ride); returning into TPV & TV I noticed that the interrupted workout had been saved and I needed to start a new one to have a completed task. It should be nice to have the possibility to resume and continue the interrupted workout (especially if you are more that 75% done! ;) ). I thinks that a simple add on or substitution to the command of auto save in such event. Many thanks for your effort. cheers
