ANT+ dropouts

Compared to Zwift, TrainingPeaks Virtual has a significant amount of dropouts. I've only used TP Virtual intermittently, but every time it is froth with dropouts. Using macOS with the ANT+ stick directly under the Tacx Neo 2T trainer, but with Assioma DUO power meter pedals.

Many thanks for your suggestion and support for TrainingPeaks Virtual.

ANT+ dropouts are a result of signal interference between your trainer and your computer - nothing to do with TrainingPeaks Virtual. We appreciate that other platforms don't tell you when your signal drops out and just covers the issue up so you don't notice, but that doesn't mean that it's not happening!

To resolve the issue you will need to improve the quality of the connection between your trainer and computer. This can be done by repositioning the transmitter / receiver to be closer together, or by adding shielding around them so that interfering signals from other sources (e.g. a neighbour using their microwave) are blocked.

    My ANT+ dongle is directly underneath the bottom bracket. It's about as close as one can get.

    All without actually looking at data? So, blame others...gotcha.

    Yesterday i had an ant+ and BLE connection lost after a pauze. I Came back and couldn't connect my trainer (Tacx Neo 0 ant+) nor heart rate belt (Garmin Pro BLE). I went to the screen pairing devices and as surprise everything was still "connected" but the ant+ and BLE connection signs (upper left connection screen) were not on. I had to finish the training manually and restart app to begin again. Everything connected again

    This maybe down to the actual trainer, I had a similar issue with Ant on a pc a few years ago and in the end Tacx replaced the trainer. I moved to Apple TV and using Bluetooth in ATV problems went away. I think the limitations are actually in the capabilities of Ant + and data transfer speeds and sharing the channel for data
