Median Heart Rate
Hi, it is possible to add the ability to select median heart rate rather than average? If there are enough outliers in the data, it will skew the results. As an example, I just completed an hour run. My heart rate settled in to a range of 130-132 for most of the run but since there was a ramp in the beginning and at the end, they were included and it skewed the average down. I have also seen this have a larger impact on treadmill runs where I had to stop momentarily to start another session since I exceeded the maximum time. Thanks!

Here is also my feature request: Inclusion of Median Values in Dashboard Views
Dear TrainingPeaks Team,
I hope this message finds you well. My name is Peter, a sports scientist, and a fervent user of your platform. I would like to commend your team for the excellent work done in creating and maintaining this tool that has greatly benefited the training regimes of athletes and coaches alike.
However, there is a feature I believe would improve the usability and precision of the data representations in the Dashboard views that seems to be currently missing.
While analyzing the overall volume of training units, I've noticed that the Dashboard view seems to focus on the representation of mean values. Although this has its merits, it is susceptible to skewing by outliers, such as periods of illness or injury where training load may significantly drop, or periods of maximal training values that can abnormally inflate the mean. This can cause an inaccurate representation of a typical training volume, which, for many users, could lead to misinformed decision-making.
To address this concern, I propose the introduction of an option to display median values in the Dashboard view. The median, as you are well aware, provides a more robust measure of central tendency in the presence of outliers. This would provide a truer reflection of the typical volume of training units, aiding users in making more precise adjustments to training plans based on this more representative statistic.
I firmly believe that this feature would be beneficial to many TrainingPeaks users, enabling a more accurate evaluation and planning of training schedules. I also understand that implementing such changes requires careful consideration and resources, but I am confident that it would greatly enhance the user experience.
I appreciate your time in considering this feature request, and I am available for further discussion or clarification if required.
Thank you for your continuous efforts in providing a comprehensive and versatile platform for training analysis.
Kind Regards,
Peter
