Rowing Cadence in Structured Workouts
For indoor and outdoor rowing, many coaches prescribe stroke rate targets. Please consider adding Rate as a Unit for structured workouts and workout compliance.
Rowing Power on the water is restricted to a few devices that won't accept structured workouts. Pace fluctuates with water conditions, heart rate and cadence. Indoor rowing power is more meaningful, but still a rate prescription is often a way of indicating intensity as well.
Very specifically, this is how I would like to use this:
I row with an EmPower Oarlock, and an NK SpeedCoach GPS 2 - this is the most accessible on the water power setup available. NK's software leaves much to be desired, and does not accept workout files from external sources - workouts must be programmed on the device with the physical buttons.
I run my Garmin Enduro 2 on my wrist while rowing, and would like to be able to set a rate target in TrainingPeaks that I can listen to the cues for, and not set up workouts on the SpeedCoach. This would be especially useful for long steady state workouts, as the "button press" feature for rest periods is immensely useful for on the water.
