Garmin / Apple Watch Integration to Display HR Session Data
We (coaches) can see what a client was supposed to do, and what they logged, but not how their body responded. Integrating Garmin and/or Apple Watch heart rate data would close that gap by showing HR across the entire session.
A continuous HR trace would show whether a client hit the intended intensity, pushed too hard too early, or coasted through something that was meant to be challenging.
Coaches could also track recovery trends over weeks and months, spot improvements in conditioning, and catch signs of fatigue or under-recovery before they turn into overtraining.
Intervals, EMOM-style work, AMRAPs, and aerobic base sessions are all defined by intensity and rest. With HR data, coaches can confirm that Zone 2 work stayed in Zone 2, that high-intensity intervals reached target zones, and that rest periods allowed adequate recovery. Programming can then be adjusted with real physiological feedback instead of guesswork.
As remote coaching is continuing to grow, I believe this is a critical add.
[I am aware TrainingPeaks already has more device integration and data display, however, I would prefer not to have to use two apps for clients].
