  1. Dear TrainingPeaks Team,

we are writing to report a reproducible and blocking issue with TrainingPeaks Virtual on Apple TV, which significantly impacts our real-world usage.

    Real-world setup:

    • 2 people training at the same time
    • in the same room
    • using 2 different trainers (Elite Suito-T, different serial numbers) on 2 separate Apple TVs with 2 separate instances of TrainingPeaks Virtual

    Issue:
TrainingPeaks Virtual does not persistently store the associated trainer on Apple TV.
At every app restart, the app performs a fresh Bluetooth scan and connects randomly to one of the available Elite Suito-T trainers, ignoring the trainer selected in the…

  2. When I ride in TPV not in a workout/ERG mode, my smart trainer (Tacx Neo 2T) and incline device (Tacx Alpine) accurately adjust to changes in incline. However, when I’m riding in a workout in ERG mode, the incline stays at zero percent the entire time. By contrast, when I ride in other apps, e.g., Zwift, in ERG mode I still get the changes in incline as I ride across varied terrain.

This is frustrating as I don't get to train the changes in muscle position that I otherwise would. It doesn't match with the way TPV presents itself with…

  3. Raise the focal point of camera 3 view.
At the moment, when another riders is along side, their shoulders are at the top of the screen which would mean our head is level with their stomach.
Please can the view point so that the shoulders of the rider alongside are middle of our view (vertically speaking).
The offset option in setting does not achieve the above desired result.

  4. The desktop app looks just awful, looks like there were no graphic designer or UI/UX experts involved at all. It just feels bad to use this app even compared to free competitors.

  5. As a user of TPVirtual
I'd like better log in and password layout
So that I can actually see my entry

As a TPVirtual User And A Person With Bad Eyesight
I'd like bigger fonts and different Layout when trying To Select Workouts, View My Calendar and Selecting my Bluetooth devices

As a TP Virtual User I'd like a better way to adjust my workout percentage as I can't see the arrow up/down buttons and even when I can see them just using my finger to reduce the workout percentage It never registers accurately or causes other items to show…

  6. There are already plenty of suggestions to improve TPV’s graphics, aiming to make the experience more immersive and realistic. I fully support these ideas and I’m genuinely excited about all the positive developments in that area. However, I believe one crucial element of immersion is still being underdeveloped: sound.

The feeling of realism, of getting absorbed, of truly being present, isn’t just about visuals. Sound is just as important. I’d even go so far as to say that sound is a key reason why I still find Zwift the most immersive of the three options: TPV, BikeTerra and Zwift. If…

  7. Cornering currently feels completely off on TPV. This is partly due to line choice (a lone rider follows the curve of the road and doesn't take a racing line) but visually it is also disengaging to watch as the avatar does not put an outside foot down, lean and fight centrifugal force in a bend.

Biketerra have recently updated their avatar animations to do this, and it totally transforms the feeling of cornering. You can see their implementation here:

  8. Before the release of the new TPV homescreen design, I was able to limit the framerate to 60 Hz AND enable VSYNC at the same time. Since the release of the new homescreen, the framerate limiter is not working as soon as VSYNC is activated. I have a macbook pro with a 120 Hz display and I want to limit the framerate to 60 Hz because it's simply overheating otherwise. I don't want to change the framerate in the macos settings every time I use TPV. It was working fine before and I would really enjoy if VSYNC and framerate…

  9. I realize personal GPXplore route upload hasn't even been fully released yet, but it would be fantastic to enable this to work with common cycling related mapping apps vs individual upload. For example, RideWithGPS integrates directly with Wahoo devices so you can create routes in RideWithGPS and then they automatically upload to your device for nav use on sync. Strava has similar capability. A similar feature here where TPV could be linked to RideWithGPS for auto GPX route sync would make this idea even better.

  10. When I'm doing a workout from TrainingPeaks, I don't want to have to reselect all the settings, wait forever for my smart trainer to connect, etc. I should be able to save a profile that I can just click into and start doing the workout.

  12. Not so much a new idea but an evolution of existing. The 'cruiseliners' seem wrong to me even unrealistic and they block the view. They are too close to the shore ... unless they've actually run aground. How do the passengers get ashore? either a wharf or maybe some shore landing feature with smaller boats tied up ... and anyway is there really enough for them to do and see when they're here?
Perhaps some more modest expedition cruisers might fit better.

Georgetown and the other 'villages' seem abandoned and do not have a cohesive style, these need to be…

  13. I use a 70" 4K TV as my primary display for virtual riding, which creates an incredibly immersive experience. However, one recurring challenge I’ve noticed—across several apps, not just TPVirtual—is the size and dominance of the HUD/GUI on the screen.
While I absolutely rely on the data during rides and workouts to monitor performance, the current layout makes it difficult to fully enjoy the game’s visuals.
The interface simply takes up too much real estate on a large screen, especially in higher resolutions.
It would be amazing to have the ability to adjust the HUD/GUI size dynamically, perhaps via a…

  14. TrainingPeaks has just added the ability to show calories burned split by carbs and fat.

It would be great if it was possible to show carb burn (ideally in grams of carbs rather than calories, i.e. divided by 4) in realtime whilst riding. This will help fuel during an activity and replenish appropriately afterwards.

  15. I would love to see the TPV companion app include a separate page for workouts similar to the Zwift companion app that would allow one to quickly change the effort level or skip an interval with a single button tap rather than navigating through the current remote page process. I struggle to navigate the current remote when I am in the middle of an intense workout, as happened the other day when I tried to reduce the effort of an interval but was unable to do that quickly enough before I entered the ERG mode spiral of death....

  16. It seems that I suffer from a lot of dropouts on my ANT+ connection, enough to trigger Performance Verification (PV) removing me from a race. Now, I am absolutely fine with this, but I’m finding it very hard to trace the issue, especially because the only way to know it happening is to set up a race with PV on, and see what happens for every idea I have.

Now, I understand the reasoning that other aspects of PV can’t be fed back on live when just riding around so people don’t learn how to game the PV system, but…

  17. Launching a workout in focus data mode results in a blinking white TV screen, virtual world works fine.

See images, have deleted and re installed app on Apple TV.

    Any thoughts?

  18. The zones display removes (for me) the need for the relatively large primary dashboard, but turning it off seems to turn off the virtual gear display (unlike the cruise mode display).

  19. Just started using virtual gearing and love it but would like to see a + / - option on the remote control screen to avoid bringing up the main menu, moving to the + or - and then hitting enter. I found I can also do it on the screen with a mouse click but that also isn't real convient when going hard and trying to move the mouse around. A simple extra + and - on the remote screen would be ideal since it would be 1 click either way during a hard effort.

    Thanks for your consideration

  20. Add some shortcut buttons to the remote tab in the hub, rather than having to fumble around through the on screen menu. Some ideas: end ride, take a break, pause workout
