Complete stylised graphics rewrite
OK, someone had to say it.
The graphics on TPV were always placeholders. When the resource is in place, they should be re-built from the ground up.
My preference would be to go for a stylised low-polygon approach, which allows for scalable graphics across the wide range of hardware options, with flexibility for cool animations and effects - it's also different to the other platforms out there. Whatever is chosen, it should have a consistent style.
I've attached some examples for reference.

I took a poll on a virtual cycling podcast discord thread, and something like 60% of people NOT riding on TPV said it is because of the bad graphics.

Please factor in those who do not want to buy the latest GPU in order to ride indoors. I currently use an old gaming laptop. No issues at the moment with TPV. MyWhoosh is an example of what NOT to do. Too many npcs, flags, signs, screens, trees, lights, decorations ...
On the lowest settings it looks horrible. On higher setting I can use my GPU to heat the room. It might look better then, but all the distracting elements make me want to turn it off. -

I would like to see some street signs with road names or something to clearly define the road and region you are entering
Sign posts at the intersections would be nice and road signs stating you are entering a new spot in the map could also be nice
I think defining the locations more would help people more clearly understand and talk about the map

I prefer photo realism as well, BUT as long as we don’t go too far into the cartoon such that we have dragons and dinosaurs-I’ll consider it a win 👍🏻
My preference is “keep it realistic” - whether that means photorealistic or just reasonable scenery, I’m good with that

I find TPV is working well for my needs but the graphics are very basic and way behind the quality in Zwift. I haven’t tried all the routes on TPV yet but the imagery needs to be significantly improved and greater variety introduced (including both urban and village and rural environments that better resemble actual environments).

Yes please. but keep the gaming thing away. Go for the real look. I to would buy whatever GPU to run the game. Let graphics be like the physics...as close to the real thing.

A wolf or coyote scampering across the road ahead might be reason to hold attention. A whale doing a splash out in the distant waters. An eagle grabbing a fish for supper. Just a few ideas - nothing too frequent, perhaps seldom is better.

Ich war ganz kurz beim fahren aber die unruhige Asphaltstraße ist mir Sofort negativ aufgefallen in combination mit die grasfleche sehr störend.

Would be nice to have a little more scenery assets in the world. Some trees, plants etc. It's a bit barren at present.

I would vote for photo realism. I understand that would require some devices to have to dial back, but personally I’d buy whatever graphics card needed to get as close to realistic and possible. I feel like the cartoonish graphics create a certain amount of mental fatigue. If you’re looking at a tree your brain wants to see a tree, and if it doesn’t it has to spend energy translating what it thinks it’s seeing.

Please improve the views on the climbing island to actual scenery. Personally, I spend 6mo of the year staring at white and brown scenery IRL. An attraction of Zwift in comparison to TPV is that there is colour, and greenery everywhere. It helps with the SAD.
