MECHANICS: Add run/treadmill support

As soon as TPV can connect to my Treadmill (Tunturi T90 - FTMS Protocol) I'll switch to TP. Actually I'm on Wahoo SYSTMX and unhappy with the missing treadmill support. Zwift supports my treadmill but is very expensive and i don't like the look and feel. So TPV with treadmill would be a big game changer!

I would also appreciate having support for following structured runs (planned in Trainingpeaks) on the treadmill, which would make a big difference compared to Zwift, where you can only follow Zwifts workouts, but the workouts from TP don't get synched. Obviously erg mode won't be working for all treadmills, but seeing which zones you should hit for how long would be a big help!

Please add support for Tunturi T90 Treadmill. It uses the FTMS-Protocol, so it should be quite easy!

I use Zwift because it has an option for running, if TPVirtual had running - then id get rid of Zwift and only use TPVirtual.

I'd appreciate the ability to run in TPV. I recently purchased a treadmill and I've been considering going back to Zwift for it's running support. Seeing this listed as a planned feature is really exciting though. I use the North Pole Engineering Runn sensor on my treadmill paired with my Garmin watch currently.

Suggestion for TrainingPeaks Virtual:
It would be great if TrainingPeaks Virtual could support treadmill running, not just cycling. Currently, when my athletes do a treadmill interval session with Garmin, recalibrating only adjusts the average pace, which means the individual interval data remains inaccurate. Additionally, some treadmills don’t reliably connect to Garmin or other devices, which means I often don’t get data like elevation. As a result, not only is the interval data skewed, but Training Stress Score (TSS) can be underreported, making it harder to accurately track training load. If treadmill data could sync directly to TrainingPeaks via Virtual, and workout details were incorporated properly, it would make treadmill running far more meaningful for tracking and monitoring progress.

Running is what got me to Zwift. If we’d like to be cutting edge here, where Zwift falls short is the ability see info from foot pods like Stryd; I’d like to think there commercial upside if began with that end in mind. Plus taking a non-connected treadmill using Runn, and creating something amazing is exciting.

Skyler_Sopp I see nothing anywhere that says running is planned by TrainingPeaks for TrainingPeaks Virtual. Where do you see that?

Skyler Sopp commented
Running is already a recommendation and is already planned 👍🏻

I like the TPVirtual...
but in my opinion the “running” function needs to be integrated. At least 15 of my athletes would use TPVirtual if it had this feature. -

Only feature that keeps me on Zwift...

I would love a running side to the app like zwift and mywhoosh. not sure how hard that is but as a Triathlete it is really nice to have visuals well running on my treadmill.

I would absolutely love to see this prioritised, and also have the ability for TPV to control the incline via FTMS, this will give you a huge advantage over Zwift as they are ignoring the users feedback on this subject.

Would be the only way to go to go to TP Virtual and leave zwift behind. As a coach, I know that all my athletes feel the same way !

Expand the virtual app to cover running and integrate with treadmills like the Wahoo Kickr Run for incline/decline controls, speeds, etc.

Can you add just some basic run routes soon so we can all ditch zwift completely? Doesn't need to be all sing and dancing from day one....

Include running on the platform so athletes can track all indoor running and cycling

If you look at your producst price point and adding TPV to allow for people to train in your platform, you are way cheaper then Zwift. So you will pull more people across with them being able to do both at half the price, plus they have the added benefit of a trainng platform, they'll pay the money even if they were using another platform for their training, as its cheaper than Zwift by leagues and they have no analytical platform.

I suggest having the possibility of carrying out virtual sessions in running mode, just as they can be carried out with a bicycle.

Add swimming too 🤔🤣
