  1. Ensuring elevation gain on TPV is accurately uploaded into Strava. TPV 2023m Strava 1989m for the same ride!?

    Many thanks for your suggestion and support for TrainingPeaks Virtual.

    This difference happens as a result of the accuracy of TrainingPeaks Virtual compared to Strava - specifically, TrainingPeaks Virtual uses the exact height for any elevation gains, whereas Strava uses data rounded to the nearest meter.

    This means that, for example, if you were to go up a small 25cm lump in the road four times, TrainingPeaks Virtual would count it as 1m elevation gain (4x0.25 = 1), but Strava would count it as 0 elevation gain (4x0 = 1) purely because of the difference in rounding.

    Whilst this might not seem very much, over a long ride those differences gradually add up to give the overall difference in values that you see.

  2. Many people wish bots (or humans) to be identified when racing. During races there should be an option to identify bots/humans. This could be on a toggle switch to suit both those who wish to identify bots and also those who do not wish to identify bots.

    We take it as a huge compliment that it is not possible to tell the difference between a bot and a human when racing!

    After an event, the event organiser can choose to be immediately emailed with the results of the event, and these will indicate to them who was human and who was a bot - it is then deliberately left as a choice for the organiser whether to share that with the participants or not.

  3. Please fix the Kickr Bike Steering control. Currently, when I press the left button to steer left, my bike continues all the way to the left, which is the middle of the road—conversely, the same when steering right. In other words, I can't position my bike where I want/need it to be.

    As noted in your screenshot, this is most likely an issue with a firewall or anti-virus scanner running on your computer that is preventing it from downloading information from the TrainingPeaks Virtual servers.

  6. While following a planned workout the ERG isn’t what I use. It allowed me to switch to fixed however the power was controlled by ERG and didn’t follow the plan just stayed at the point I had switched it from. All was going well up to this point.

    Hi Darran - many thanks for letting us know about this. TrainingPeaks Virtual already has full support for lots of different resistance modes. What you are seeing therefore could potentially just be a configuration error, rather than any need for a new enhancement to the application.

    Can you please email your log files to virtual@trainingpeaks.com and we can take a look at it for you.
