Many thanks for your suggestion and support for TrainingPeaks Virtual.
In general, some degree of gamification can be good, but we need to be careful not to go too far - for example, we would not want to do anything that encouraged an athlete to train when it would be better for them to be resting etc.
It's therefore an area we will certainly be looking at, but at this stage it's unclear what changes we may or may not make.

Many thanks for this more nuanced suggestion, and support for TrainingPeaks Virtual.
We've deliberately not declined this one and will add it to the list of suggestions to consider in more detail. Whilst the general position remains that we deliberately choose not to publish this metric, it potentially could be displayed for yourself only (and be blank when viewing other riders) as an option in the custom UI.

Opened up comments to shout, "No! Please", and found a chorus already speaking up. Please please please please please DO NOT GAMIFY TPV.
Thank you to George Gilbert•TPV for your considered response to this so far.
I left Zwift because of the gamification/Disneyfication/dreckification of the UX. Keep TPV focused on _training_, not entertainment and not social pseudo-gratification.
The first thing you should do is remove the birds and animals and even the completely unrealistic "wind" streaks. And all the downed trees sticking out at horizontally from hills and cliffs. Keep it simple. Keep it rigorously focused on training. Allow users to control what world features and animations show. And never ever do anything to gamify my use of TPV. I train because I want to. That should be one of the starting assumptions you rely as you develop TPV.
