Allow third party workout files (ERG, MRC, Zwift, FIT, etc) to be imported
FEATURE REQUEST
Ability to import a workout file from a third party, like Zwift, Garmin, TrainerRoad, PerfPro, CompuTrainer, or a generic ERG or MRC file, etc. Drag and drop or import the file into the TrainingPeaks calendar day.
BENEFITS
There are thousands of workout files already out there developed by third parties, and so no reason to have to create more of them in TrainingPeaks, especially if those workouts in TrainingPeaks cannot control a smart trainer.
SUB-REQUEST
Click on the imported workout and have it launch the third party application (if that app can be opened directly from a workout file (sort of like when you click on a MS Word file and it opens that file in the MS Word app)

A few months ago, someone suggested that we figure out a way to get workouts from ERGdb.org to TrainingPeaks. Alex at ERGdb thought that was a good idea too, so we put our heads together and found a way to make it happen. As of today you can sync structured workouts from ERGdb to TrainingPeaks. You can also import all of your ERG, MRC, and soon your Z**** workout files into ERGdb and then sync them to TrainingPeaks. Check out this blog post how it all works and let us know what you think.https://ergdb.org/training-peaks-push-workouts/

Seconding other comments. This needs to be a file import and not reliant on yet another third party. It's not rocket science. The workout builder is terrible and I loathe having to recreate workouts using it.

This is _semi_ completed, it would be nice to be able to import a fit file as a work out, w/out requiring a third party app/account.

A coach sent me a full workout plan created with Zwift. It doesn't seem possible to import it into my TrainingPeaks calendar. Why? If TP can export to zwo, why can't it read zwo? Kind of asinine.

Is there a way to import .zwo Zwift workout files to TP already? I don't find a way however. The TP workout file importer still can't read the .zwo files although they have xml format. I wonder if TP intentionally refuses to implement this interface for some reason as the effort to do so would be minimal, at least from a technical point. Thanks for the update.

Is it planned to be able to import bike workouts from perfpro or zwift into a workout builder erg or mrc mode in the future please?

This would be a quick fix / solution for my request to add the ability to turn ERG on and off in the TP workout builder. For Zwift I can write my own but it is so much easier to load from TP (as I use a different computer for Zwift).
<SteadyState Duration="240" PowerLow="0.55" PowerHigh="0.55">
</SteadyState>
<FreeRide Duration="30" FlatRoad="1"> //30s second flat out interval, ERG disabled//
</FreeRide> // re-enables ERG mode for the next interval
<SteadyState Duration="240" PowerLow="0.55" PowerHigh="0.55">
</SteadyState> -

I, too, echo this request. With fantastic workout databases like https://ergdb.org/ available, it's a shame not to be able to load them into TrainingPeaks.

If there's an area TP should focus on is smart trainer integration.
Once again the company is missing the boat...
The workout builder is extremely limited and I haven't seen animator improvement since it has been released. -

I see this has been requested more than TWO YEARS ago already and I think all of us would like to see this functionality. Does TrainingPeaks actually read these??

It's a bit cumbersome to go through the structured workout builder when you've already done that on another platform (Zwift or something). It would be great if you could import a workout created in Garmin Connect, Zwift, Trainer Road, etc. to the structured workout builder in TrainingPeaks.

Zwift has a ton of workouts which would be great to use inTP for planning.

I agree that a feature to upload zwift workout files to TP would be very useful as I have loads of training plans that's been created on Zwift and if I cannot load it into TrainingPeaks, the continued use of TP premium for planning my workouts becomes somewhat questionable and I might as well go back to my basic plan and do my planning on Excel. TP premium no longer gives me the ability to plan my session without me having to manually re-create the tons of workouts I have in TP workout builder.
I find it much easier and quicker to create new workout in zwift .zwo

I'm also looking how to import MRC file to workout creator, it would make my life much easier.

Is there any way to do this manually?

I think this feature would be hugely beneficial. I have literally 100's of workouts created in Zwift that I would love to be able to import into TP to be stored in my library for use for all my clients. Currently I have to recreate in the TP workout builder which is very time consuming.

I think this feature would be very helpful as I have a set of CTS workouts I have created in Zwift (ZWO) format but a friend of mine only uses an apple device with Zwift so has to create a workout in the calendar for the day of training in order for Zwift to pull it from TP.

The ability to build workouts in Trainingpeaks and export to other platforms for playback is great, especially the recent Zwift integration. However. Having used other platforms I have built my own library of structured trainer workouts in various formats. It would have been a great addition to the workout planner if it enabled to import structured workouts in various formats, ea. .zwo and .zwift. With this feature it would be easier to estimate more precise fittnes and fatigue when planning. Premium trainingpeaks is somewhat limited in this aspect. Also edititing imported planned workouts would be nice.

Did this capability, to drop an externally created .MRC file into my workout library and calendar, ever happen?

I have the very same need. I am getting erg files from other sources and I would like to be able to import them into the calendar as planned workouts.
