Ability to set swim distance in meters, while allowing all the other units to remain English.
My pool is 25m, and it is a pain to have to convert to yards. It would be nice if you could change just the distance for swims without having to change general setting to metric.

You can choose Yards or Meters in the "Workout Details" at the bottom of the workout window... see screenshot. Also next to the value in "Distance" you can change to m from the drop down menu.

Why has this still not happened? Get on it, guys.

Just adding to the mix. I actually use two different pools depending on how my day goes. One is yards, the other meters. I would like to adjust my training plans as such.

has this been done? not sure why implementing this feature is not done? considering you cater to triathletes, who tend to train in pools 25/50 meters and not yards. please let me know when it does happen.

this is still not possible and its still annoying

I would like to see this feature as well. Currently, the feature is incomplete: you can only change the swim's total distance between English and Metric units. What needs to also happen is to display all of the swim statistics to the chosen units not just/only the total distance swam.

I can enter my swim data in meters but when I look at my calendar it displays in yards. If I enter it as meters I want it to display as meters.

I signed up today, and this is the second thing in TP that I searched for on how to do, I swim in a 25m pool and only ever swim in a 25yd pool when I'm on vacation. So the metrics provided here means nothing to me unless I convert them,,, Please add this feature.

When you have a forum dedicated to one issue to your product, then you have an issue! I use training peaks to have the ability to quick glance at my workouts and know what I need to do for the day. When my swim shows in yards and I have to convert to meters, it makes your product less useful to me. Now, I love the rest of your product, but come on and make this change. Obviously it's needed.

What about making units specific to that workout? I normally swim in a 25 yard pool, but sometimes in a 50M pool, and my last tri had a 1500M swim. Currently it seems that changing the swim length unit is global. Have a yd/M choice in the user profile and take that preference for every new workout, but if I change it the change only affects that workout.

Also allow choice of Meteric or English by sport for weekly totals.

I would love to see this feature. I would go a bit further. Why not allow the user to choose between Metric and Imperial units for each function.
For instance, I would prefer metric for swimming, Imperial for running, Imperial for weight, and metric for biking. But that's just me.
I find it especially annoying that if I choose metric units to match the distance of my pool, the android app then wants my weight entered in kilograms.

I can change this in training peaks classic and using app on iPhone but not in beta version of TP. This is important feature to be able to change when entering workout data.

This would be convenient

Yes, the conversion can be done automatically, that's simple - but the pain is having the default unit be in English or Metric and apply to all sports. We should be able to select our default unit per sport and that should reflect in the reporting and views when we analyze the data. In this case, most of us would set swim to metric and bike/run to English/Statute.

Yes do this I have some Tri geeks that train in meter pools and I can not view the pace zones in meters, while others have yard pools I can do the calculations to convert but why can TOP not do this automatically in the training zones

and I know you can select the different unit in the quick view, but not in the reports..

Good if we could get more specific with other units as well - I use miles for bike and run, meters for swim and I prefer Centigrade for temperature. Thanks.
PS - this suggestion / voting feature is particularly good!!

Custom metric's for workouts would be great, I run and bike in miles, but have no concept of yards. I would imagine others would like different preferences.

You can click on the label and switch units for data entry. Our system will convert it for you.
