Structured Exercise Tool in Template Builder
This tool can be really helpful but currently it lacks one fundamental field to make it more efficient and accurate. It is the "Rest Duration" field between reps. Please see the attached picture with more details. Without this field it takes so many more steps to include rests in sets of intervals and it makes instructions so confusing to athletes. There's no way to do it properly and the total duration of exercises will always be wrong because the software does not have a field to account for "rest duration" between intervals. If you fix it will be worth and great using it. Currently I have to use the "Notes" field as a workaround but again the software can't use it to calculate "Rest duration" and consequently, exercise/workout duration properly. Thanks.
We actually do have a way to enter a specified rest duration. When you are defining the exact values for a given set, there is a drop down in the upper right corner of the Step’s edit view which allows you to select either Active Set or Rest Set. Unfortunately, you didn't get it! The "Rest Set" is useful only for recovery between sets. Recovery between intervals need a different approach to make this tool faster.
