Streamlining Event Creation and Management for Coaches with Multiple Athletes
Current Challenge:
As a coach, I have numerous athletes who sign up for various marathon events. For instance, if 10 of my athletes are participating in the same marathon, I currently have to create an individual event for each athlete. This process is cumbersome and time-consuming.
Proposed Enhancement:
I propose that TrainingPeaks introduce a feature to create events in a centralized manner and then apply these events to multiple athletes, similar to how training plans are created and assigned. Here are the key features of this enhancement:
Centralized Event Creation:
Allow coaches to create an event once in a centralized location (or it could be a global library of key races created by TP).
Provide options to set event details such as date, time, location, and distance.
Batch Assignment:
Enable coaches to assign the created event to multiple athletes simultaneously.
Include options to select athletes individually or by group/team.
Reporting and Dashboard:
Introduce a reporting feature that lists upcoming events along with participating athletes.
Include a countdown timer for each event, visible as part of a dashboard for easy tracking.
Allow coaches to generate reports on athlete participation for better planning and communication.
Benefits:
Efficiency: Significantly reduces the time and effort required to create and manage events for multiple athletes.
Consistency: Ensures that all athletes receive the same event details, minimizing the risk of errors or discrepancies.
Tracking: Improves the ability to track upcoming events and athlete participation, aiding in better preparation and communication.
This enhancement will greatly benefit coaches by streamlining the process of event management, allowing us to focus more on coaching and less on administrative tasks.
