Activity Tagging by Training Cycle or Race
Summary - Introduce the ability to tag individual activities with custom labels representing training cycles, races, or goals (e.g., “LV100_2025”), and enable filtering and analysis based on those tags.
Use Case - Athletes often train for multiple events or follow distinct training cycles throughout the year. Currently, there’s no streamlined way to group and analyze activities tied to a specific race or training block. For example, someone preparing for the Leadville 100 MTB race in 2025 might want to track all workouts related to that event, separate from general base training or other race prep.
Proposed Features -
Custom Tags for Activities: Allow users to create and assign tags (e.g., LV1002025, BaseBuild, SpringRoadRace) to workouts.
Default Tag Rules: Enable users to set default tags for a date range or training plan, so new activities during that period are automatically tagged.
Tag-Based Filtering: Add filters in the calendar, dashboard, and performance management chart to view data by tag(s).
Tag Analytics: Allow metrics like TSS, CTL, ATL, and volume to be analyzed within the context of a tag.
Coach Integration: Coaches could assign tags to athlete workouts for better tracking across multiple clients and events.
Benefits -
Improved visibility into training effectiveness for specific races or goals.
Easier retrospective analysis of what worked (or didn’t) in past training cycles.
Enhanced organization for athletes juggling multiple events or seasons.
More granular data insights for coaches and athletes alike.
This feature would bring a new level of clarity and customization to training analysis, helping athletes stay focused and data-driven in their preparation.
