Bring back functionality of strength workouts
In Training Peaks Classic, you could create sets, reps, ranges, etc and add specific exercises while building out a strength workout. These exercises would have complete descriptions that were created, making them very easy to follow.
In the new software, all the classic workouts have become read only with no way to adjust exercises. All new strength workouts require all info to be placed into the workout description which is not only time consuming, but confusing and ineffective for athletes.
I think we can all agree that strength training is a very important part of endurance performance and injury prevention. Having everything as read only is something my athletes have continued to voice issues with since we are not longer able to easily indicate what we want them to complete.

How do I synch TrainHeroic workouts with Training Peaks (so that I and my coach can see all completed training in one place)?

If TP wants to focus on Aerobic Exercise and endurance sports, I can understand that but endurance sport athletes require cross-training in the off-season which, for some, includes dedicated strength training cycles. Adding the ability to enter strength periodization tools (offer an "other" option instead of distance or duration and add editable fields for sets, reps and load) on a basic level into the strength workout builder is critical for all sport and all athletes. Or add a training block which focuses on strength and within that block, have tools built specifically for strength.

Really wish there was some basic way of manually entering the plan and achievement for functional strength. Just need to count sets and reps instead of time... please reconsider.

Figured I'd add my name to the list. I would absolutely love to be able to track workouts with this functionality.

I’m another athlete who would just like to see the ability to record what exercises I performed and the amount of reps, weight etc. It just has be basic but editable. I don’t want to use another platform. I want to log all my data in one place.

This is a non-answer. Obviously structured workout builder doesn't work for strength workouts. Can we just get a straight-up answer? Is TrainingPeaks planning to add support for recording strength workouts back to their solution (exercise, set, reps)? If so, when? In terms of Trainheroic,is there integration with TrainingPeaks?

I coach endurance athletes so it doesn't make sense to have people on multiple platforms. Not sure what was so wrong with the existing strength workout builder that couldn't be transitioned.

Josh, because of TrainingPeaks decisions to deprecate the strength features you used to have I HAVE been using another platform... which does not integrate and frankly it's a hassle for me as a coach and for my athletes. I know you moved this to CONSIDERED, but as a coach I do not want to add yet another piece of software (for an additional fee) that doesn't integrate with TP.
I wouldn't need/want anything too fancy, but basic functionality would be appreciated. Perhaps you could built it into the new workout builder down the line. If you look at JEFIT they have a huge database of workouts which I BELIEVE they have an API for that you could tap into.
Hopefully you give it more thought, but it doesn't seem like implementation would be too difficult considering you already have the framework for building a workout and would just need a database of exercises.

Well, Training Peaks developers, any status on restoring this? I also agree and want this functionality back! ... Please ;-)

This is the reason I use Training Peaks. I now have hundreds of unusable workouts and templates

I completely agree with this post! I am very frustrated that I am not able to edit the exercises in an existing workout. So much more time consuming. Not happy.

I would investigate integrating with Jefit. Their Weight lifting log (Routines and Exercice description, etc...) is great

This functionality should be reinstated. I currently using another 3rd party app to record my strength/conditioning workouts. Would be great to have it all in one app.
The fact that there is a workout type for strength and not having the ability to record reps, sets etc. is madness as this is easily the most common format for this type of workout. -

No doubt, this functionality needs to be added back. The failure to include this functionality is really my only criticism of the new build. As an athlete, the inability of my coach to modify workouts, create sets, reps, ranges, etc. is quite frustrating, and I know that it is frustrating for my coach.

Agreed! Not to mention the formatting of the descriptions doesn't allow any rich text. It's been a big struggle since the workout building capability got axed. We answer more questions about strength workouts, which is more time spent, and like you said, less chance of them actually doing it. We can't even edit the old workouts we spent so much time creating. Need this functionality back!
