Optional HUD elements
I like a relatively uncluttered screen, so tend to minimise the number of HUD elements. It’d be nice to be able to set some to free-ride only. The computer and profile are quite useful in free-ride, but largely meaningless during a workout. It’d be great to have a yes / no / free-ride-only setting. The workout elements are already workout only, which works great.

I'm delighted to say that the latest release of TrainingPeaks Virtual now fully supports a clutter free screen when riding workouts. Simply select "Focus Mode" when chosing your workout, and all the things that relate to the 3D virtual world (chat, maps, routes etc) are turned off automatically so you can focus completely on your workout and training.

Wiki help
Firstly, love it all. Well done! Inspired by the progress you’ve made. Secondly, I have a Tacx Neo and a pair of Assioma pedals. Love how their are metrics shown on screen for L/R balance etc but I can’t seem to get Smoothness and Effectiveness showing even when I have the trainer and pedals connected. Couldn’t find out how to do this or if I need different hardware. Tried searching for this answer, but couldn’t find anything. Hoping this is an easy fix, but perhaps a WIKI or similar for key feature questions would be helpful? Overall, keep up the…

I strongly suspect that Smoothness and Effectiveness are currently only transmitted by your device when connected over ANT+, and not over Bluetooth.
Regarding documentation, there's already an initial collection of wiki style pages available at the following link, but obviously these can always be extended and improved further!

Quick Look back option
In race mode there is a Quick Look-back option. I believe it is tapping down arrow.
In free ride, this is mapped as a U-turn if held for 5 seconds.
Can the look-behind also therefore be implemented in free ride mode when it’s tapped ?Therefore, tap is glance back, hold for 5s is U turn

I'm delighted to say that this is already fully supported. Simply hold down *any* camera angle hotkey (0-9) and it will operate as a quick look to that angle, and then return to whatever camera angle you were originally using after a few seconds.

I'm delighted to say that the latest version (v0.4.24) that has been released today significantly improves the stability of TrainingPeaks Virtual, including fixing a bug that could cause it to freeze when running on Windows laptops with an integrated graphics chip which causes exactly the symptoms that you describe.
If you encounter any further issues however, please do let us know by contacting our support team (virtual@trainingpeaks.com) and we can investigate further.

Game crashes 0-5 minutes into a workout
I haven't been able to complete a workout with the virtual display at all this week. It is infuriating and I am want a refund at this point. I ride virtually to squeeze in rides with a busy schedule and I have to keep rebooting the game every few minutes.

Bug Report: Freezing while running workout
I'm currently having another problem with the screen freezing while I'm doing a workout I've created myself. The log file shows me warning messages that I don't understand: “Potential packet loss detected”, “Slow updates” and “Queue sizes”. Can someone please help me and explain what I should change in my settings.

More realistic speeds
I cruise along at an average 39km/h on the flatter coastal routes, while in the real world I would manage 28 to 32 km/h
3 votesMany thanks for your suggestion and support for TrainingPeaks Virtual.
TrainingPeaks Virtual uses a real-world physics model for all it's dynamics and so the speed you go in the app should be identical to the speed you go outside, if all of the data going into the model is the same. This has been extensively tested by 3rd party tests and found to be very accurate.
Potential reasons why there may be a difference to what you are expecting though include: A difference in Crr (perhaps the roads in TPV are smoother than the ones you ride on normally), a difference in CdA (perhaps the bikes, or your riding position, in TPV are more aerodynamic that how you ride normally) or of course wind and/or drafting (perhaps you were in a tail wind and/or in a strong draft behind other riders).

Slow updates and loading
When starting TPV, I find the updates take a VERY long time to download and install. In particular, the download runs at only 1-5 MBPS, even while connected to ethernet on a gigabit connection (measured at 250-300 MBPS on Speedtest at the same time as the download is happening). My Chrome browser is also slowed dramatically when TPV is updating, to the point where nothing loads. A setting on my system or a TPV issue - I don't know. If it's an issue you can fix, please do!
3 votesMany thanks for your suggestion and support for TrainingPeaks Virtual.
The updater is designed to download multiple files in parallel - the amount of parallelization is determined by the available resources on your computer. On a typical desktop with a Gigabit connection, downloads normally complete in 30 seconds or less.
If it is taking significantly longer than this, then TPV is probably not being permitted by your computer to run the download in parallel. That could be a permissions issue, or some other such restriction on your device.

All rides go the same way at split road during Team Time Trials
I get the fun of the split road in normal races, but a team would generally go the same way in a time trial. If we have riders that can't easily get to controls, we are effectively punished if a rider by chance goes a different way. All riders should follow the same route, as happens if riding with a pacer.
3 votesMany thanks for your suggestion and support for TrainingPeaks Virtual.
I'm delighted to say that this is already fully implemented. As you note, when following a pacer then everyone will go the same way across a split road, but the same is also true for Team Time Trial events.
If you saw different behaviour then that will be either because it wasn't a Team Time Trial event (maybe instead it was set up as just an ordinary scratch race, rather than using the specific Team Time Trial mode), or because one of the riders chose (either deliberately, or accidentally) to go a different way from the default (where the default would have been the same for every member of the team).

Garmin speedometer (Bug) no longer registers wattage
My garmin speedometer (Speed Sensor 2) still connected, but stopped registering wattage today leaving me at a literal standstill while using my "dumb" rollers. The cadense sensor continued to work just fine. It had been working correctly as of 1/9/25

Adding the CORE heat training zone to the metrics next to the Heat Strain Index
When I do my heat trainings with the CORE body temperature sensor I love to see the HSI and core temp. It would be even better when the heat zones are displayed so I graphically see when I am in my target heat zone 3.

I'm delighted to say that this is now implemented in the latest release (v0.4.14) out today.

Would really like to be able to resize interface so that I can run other apps, such as email client, etc.,
Be able to run the app in a sub-window so that it doesn't monopolize the whole screen.
3 votesMany thanks for your suggestion and support for TrainingPeaks Virtual.
As has been noted in the comments, this is already fully implemented by TrainingPeaks Virtual. From the Main Menu > Options > Display Settings menu, just select "Windowed Mode" and you can then resize the window however you want and put it wherever you want, with which ever other applications you want visible while you ride.

I'm delighted to say that this is already fully implemented, and indeed you can set up events up to 3 months in advance. When creating your group ride or group workout, just enter a date in the future in the date edit boxes at the top of the screen.

Smart scale integration
Syncing with a smart scale, such as one by Wyze, will keep us honest and train more effectively.
3 votesMany thanks for your suggestion and support for TrainingPeaks Virtual.
Synchronisation with smart scales is already fully supported - simply use the TrainingPeaks app (not TrainingPeaks Virtual, but the main TrainingPeaks application) to set up synchronisation with a wide range of 3rd party devices, and TrainingPeaks/TrainingPeaks Virtual will automatically synchronise the weight data between themselves.

Integration with Virtual Training Platforms • Direct synchronization with Zwift, Rouvy, or TrainerRoad: Allow structured TrainingPeaks work
Integration with Virtual Training Platforms
• Direct synchronization with Zwift, Rouvy, or TrainerRoad: Allow structured TrainingPeaks workouts to load automatically and adjust in real-time within virtual simulation platforms.
• Integrated visual interface: Enhance the graphical presentation of workouts in virtual interfaces with dynamic data and more intuitive visual metrics during training.3 votesMany thanks for your suggestion and support for TrainingPeaks Virtual.
Workouts from TrainingPeaks can already be fully synchronised to TrainingPeaks Virtual, and will automatically appear for you in the UI (with a huge number of metrics for you to view) as soon as you start up TrainingPeaks Virtual.
By offering a completely seamless experience, we therefore think that TrainingPeaks Virtual offers committed athletes and coaches the best platform for training and racing...however, if you wish to use other platforms that choose to offer a less integrated experience, then you are free to do so.

Apple TV BTE connection
I use apple TV and on other apps I can bypass the limited BTE connections by using the 4iiii Viiiiva as a bridge so I can link power source & resistance from my smart trainer and HR and Cadence from the 4iiii Viiiiva. I cannot seem to do this on TP Virtual.
Can this be fixed?
3 votesMany thanks for your suggestion, and support for TrainingPeaks Virtual.
I'm delighted to say that this has now been implemented in the latest release (v0.4.9) which is out today. This release significantly reworks the pairing process to enable support for a wider range of devices and multi-user environments where there are many different devices all in the same room.
This should address the vast majority of the pairing issues previously experienced, but if there are any specific devices that TrainingPeaks Virtual still does not recognise, then please feel free to raise a new UserVoice suggestion for that specific device so we can investigate and add support for you.

Many thanks for your suggestion and support for TrainingPeaks Virtual.
This has now been added in the latest release (v0.4.6). From the Main Menu > Options tab select the "Help & Support" button which will directly take you to the TPV help and support site. From there you can access many help articles, view and contribute ideas and suggestions to UserVoice, and raise an issue with the support team if needed.
