  1. ATV Suggestion
When using the swipe up menu to toggle ERG it would be nice if the menu didn’t disappear after one change it would be nice if it stayed up so you could toggle through all the modes until you get to the one you want. It is a PIA to have to swipe up several times and move the cursor just to get from ERG to fixed. I am sure this is possible because the menu stays up when virtual shifting gears and repeating some intervals in your workout if you wanted to add more on.

  2. As far as I can tell, when creating a group workout for a group to ride together, you can only scroll through the workout options. It would be very beneficial, especially as the workout libraries grow, to be able search a name to find a workout.

Many thanks for your suggestion, and support for TrainingPeaks Virtual.

I'm delighted to say that this is now fully implemented in the latest release (v0.4.28, out today). When creating an event, there's now a new option to select which workout which takes you to a sub-menu where you can see the workout details and use filters etc to help find the one you want.

  3. I use a lower intensity PACE to warm up and then move to the 'correct' level for the rest of my ride. However, I haven't been able to find a way to get back to the Pace selection menu without exiting the world. Unless there are reasons why the session has to be exited and saved could the Pace selections be added to the "Workout" drop down menu ? (the one that pops up in the lower left corner)

    Thanks

I'm delighted to say that this is fully supported already. When riding in the free-world, at any point you can simply select to join any of the pacers (or your friends, or team-mates) by selecting the "Join" option. This option is available from the pop-up action menu at the bottom middle of the screen, or if you have a keyboard by using the hotkey 'J' (for 'J'oin).

  4. When a workout has a power zone, for example, from 150 to 170 watts, it would be good if the import occurred based on the average, or if a dialog box opened so that the user could choose the power for that section.

However, if the workout has a section without a power definition, the system should turn off the ERG mode at that moment, and turn the ERG back on when entering a new section with a power definition. Today, from what I understand, the system refuses to import the entire workout.

Many thanks for your suggestion and support for TrainingPeaks Virtual.

I'm delighted to say that this week's release (v0.4.18) now fully supports workouts with ranges for power, cadence and heartrate.

When specifying a range for a given interval (e.g. 180 - 200 Watts) in a workout, TrainingPeaks Virtual will now both explicitly display that range for the interval, as well as only display alerts if you go outside of that range. When using ERG mode for either power based, or heartrate based, workouts, then the trainer resistance will be automatically adjusted to keep you close to the mid-point of the range.

  5. When using mobile device, its not showing device battery percentage and clock(current time).

This is very handy to avoid disconnection due battery and miss personal appointments if limited of time

I'm delighted to say that this has now been implemented in the latest release (v0.4.8) available now on all platforms.

  6. Use data from power meter to control erg mode on smart trainer.

Thank you for your suggestion, and support for TrainingPeaks Virtual.

You can already configure your powermeter to act as the primary control device when riding. Simply select from the Main Menu: "Options" > "Trainer Settings" > "Prefer Powermeter".

  7. It's great that I can import gpx files from my outdoor rides into TPV, but I would get far more use from them if they were not confined to use in Events. I hope TPV will soon make them available for both free rides and for workouts. See DC Rainmaker's recent review.

I'm delighted to say that this has been implemented in the latest release (v0.4.36), and is now available on all platforms.

From the routes menu, you can now just select any GPXplore route and go free-ride it without needing to set up an event. You can also select a GPXplore route when picking a workout and it all just seamlessly works.

  8. A cool feature could be if one could race against own ghost on e.g. previously completed routes. Earlier in other simulators I have been enjoying this feature. E.g. Bkool. It gives great motivation trying to beat yourself. It is a good alternative to events, if I want to start training right away without waiting for an event to start.

I'm delighted to say that this is already implemented in Time Trial events. Simply set up an event and you'll then be able to race against your top 3 fastest previous best rides on that route (with the ghosts in gold, silver, bronze colours to make them easy to track).

In TrainingPeaks Virtual, these ghosts will exactly replicate your entire Time Trial race - not just your fastest lap. So for example, if you did a 4 lap race it's likely that your lap times are going to be slower than a 1 lap race, and racing your ghosts over 4 laps therefore provides you with a better target than racing it over just your fastest ever single lap.

  9. When I create a workout on TP and select a range (eg. z2 - for me 170-230w) and then do the workout on TP Vir it just gives me a target in the middle (eg. 200w). Then it goes red and tells me to increase/decrease power if I am more than 10watts either side. i see that apparently this has been fixed but I have not got this update. Can you please let me know if this is somthing that will be fixed in the near future, thanks

  10. Please pause the heart rate verification in a race with 0 watts or cadence! I'm constantly getting warnings in a race when coasting down a big hill as my heart rate quickly drops quite low when not riding. Tonight I was kicked from a hare and hounds race as I had to wait 2.5 minutes before I could start and my heart rate slowed down too much. I didn't see any warning until I started riding and instantly was kicked.

I'm delighted to say that this issue has been addressed in the latest release. Any issues with HRMs is now much more clearly displayed (so you've got a better chance of fixing it) and now no longer results in being removed from the event, just slowed down until it's fixed, giving you more leeway to address any issues and continue your race.

  11. I am not using the avatar/world part of TP virtual, but as a replacement for a different trainer app that only did structured workouts.

TP's layout right now makes it very hard to see the interval graph a the bottom

I'm delighted to say that the latest version out today (v0.4.13) adds the option for "Focussed Mode" workouts. Selecting this option removes all the distractions from the screen and enables you to just focus directly on the core numbers that matter when you just need to get a workout done.

  12. TPV no longer holds the required power in workouts. I have a choice of power meter options - Kickr or power meter on the bike. In structured workouts, the TPV system hits the required power briefly then drops to 50 to 70 Watts. Same result for whichever of the power devices I have paired. I have done multiple re-runs after complete shut down but I can't get the system to properly run power in my structured workouts. System is all working fine on the Zwift platform.

  13. Adding a fogging effect to TrainingPeaks Virtual would enhance realism by simulating variable atmospheric conditions.
Users could toggle this feature on or off, allowing for either immersive visuals or clear visibility based on preference.
Implementation should be relatively simple, leveraging shaders and existing weather variables. This addition would enrich the virtual environment and distinguish TrainingPeaks Virtual from competitors.

I'm delighted to say that Atmospheric Haze effects (distance based fogging) is now fully implemented in TrainingPeaks Virtual - as you noted, this adds a sense of depth to the graphics and helps the world feel more alive.

The feature is turned on by default, but can be turned off by going to Main Menu > Options > Graphics Settings.

  14. It you be great to have the option of an introvert mode for training.

No maps, scenes, bot, just the computer dashboards, stats, bar graph. Like trainerroad.

Gamification is cool for some sessions, but sometimes, for interval sessions, focus is good.

I'm delighted to say that this is already fully implemented in TrainingPeaks Virtual. Simply select Main Menu > Options > UI Settings, and then select the "Camera Off - Stats Only" mode. This will then give you exactly what you've asked for - no world view, but just all your data.

  15. When doing a structured workout, it would be nice be able to skip a step. I had a reason to cut a workout short but still wanted to complete the cool down for example. Being able to skip one workout step at a time would be useful.

Many thanks for your suggestion and support for TrainingPeaks Virtual

As another commenter has noted, TrainingPeaks Virtual already fully supports skipping intervals in a workout (as well as skipping back to repeat previous intervals if you want to do extra!). This can be controlled using the hotkeys "Tab" and "Shift-Tab".

  16. How can you see your scheduled workout for the day?

As you can see here I've 2 workouts (just to test) on today in TP and in TPV I can't see one of them. Also tried with one instead of 2, and I'm using my TP account to login on TPV but did the connection with TP and TPV again to be sure that this wasn't the problem.

    Any help ?

I'm delighted to say that Heartrate based workouts are now fully supported within TrainingPeaks, so the original issue reported here should no longer happen - i.e. if you have a heartrate based workout in your TrainingPeaks calendar, it will now automatically sync to TrainingPeaks Virtual, and you'll be able to ride it as expected.

  17. Have a category for major curated events. In Zwift there too many events, so many with small registration and it just becomes a noisy list.

Many thanks for this suggestion, comments and your support for TrainingPeaks Virtual.

I'm delighted to say that this has now been implemented for you and is available in the latest version (v0.4.6) out today. As noted, this adds a "Popular Signups" tab to the Events menu screen so you can easily see events which are popular with others (as measured by the number of signups to that event).

  18. I tried TPV for the first time this evening. Pretty good for Beta! I was unable to use my cadence sensor (ANT+), as the software did not recognise my 4iiii HRM's Bluetooth bridge. This would be a deal-breaker for use with Apple TV as well.

Many thanks for your suggestion, and support for TrainingPeaks Virtual.

I'm delighted to say that this has now been implemented in the latest release (v0.4.9) which is out today. This release significantly reworks the pairing process to enable support for a wider range of devices and multi-user environments where there are many different devices all in the same room.

This should address the vast majority of the pairing issues previously experienced, but if there are any specific devices that TrainingPeaks Virtual still does not recognise, then please feel free to raise a new UserVoice suggestion for that specific device so we can investigate and add support for you.

  19. Before the update V0.4.34 TrainingPeaks Virtual handles warm-up intervals as gradual ramp instead of a fixed wattage. This meant that during warm-ups, the wattage started lower and increase over the duration rather than staying within a constant range.

As an older athlete (68+ female) I found this gradual warm-up led to a better session rather than pushing the muscles ahead of the tough blocks.

Could this be made available again perhaps as an option?

Many thanks for your suggestion, and support for TrainingPeaks Virtual.

I'm delighted to say that this has been implemented in the latest release (v0.4.36), and ramps are now working as expected on all platforms.

Note also that you can dynamically add workout blocks at any time simply by pausing the scheduled workout and using the Cruise Control feature to set a target power wattage - this works a bit like a fully configurable ERG mode when free-riding too.

  20. TP Virtual will not load.
It does the latest updates thing and then flashes a small popup with a status bar and then dies.
Just did a fresh install on a separate machine (WIn10 on both) and it does the same thing.

Many thanks for letting us know about this issue, and your support for TrainingPeaks Virtual.

I'm delighted to say that this issue has now been fixed. A patch has already been deployed and if you try to start TrainingPeaks Virtual again, then it should auto-update to the latest version and everything should work as expected.

If you are still experiencing problems, then please re-download the latest version of the launcher from https://virtual.trainingpeaks.com/TPVirtual-Installer_v4b.exe - running this should resolve any remaining issues.
