WORLD: Avatars - User height information used for rendering taller or smaller rider
Could you implement different sized riders by using the user height data? This could potentially also require size selection for the bikes as well. I mean why should 160cm user look same sized as 210cm user in TPV?
I assume the user height and weight data is already used in calculating the resistance when riding uphill (how about downhill?) but do you also consider the height for the increased body surface area to have an increased wind resistance? Or when pacing a taller rider one could have more/better draft?
14 votesMany thanks for your suggestion, and support for TrainingPeaks Virtual.
To confirm, the TrainingPeaks Virtual physics engine already takes into account the height and weight of riders, so - to use your example - you will already experience a higher drafting effect when sitting behind a larger rider.
All that is currently missing is the graphical representation of that.

UI/UX: Please create a Team Manager’s Dashboard (TMD)
It would be good if team managers (TM) could view additional data on their riders.
• An indication of when the last ride was could help to track down "dead" riders who are not active anymore.
• It would be good if team managers get an info when one of their riders got a DQ. Together with an error code, team managers could then help the riders to identify the problem and take remedial action.
• A team overview with some info graphics (maybe a calendar with events and signups) would make the TMD even better.
Other platforms do very…

WORKOUTS: Slope mode for workouts
The current workout options, are erg, terrain and flat - however the issue with flat is that as you accelerate, you have to shift gear to account for the increase in speed. The way other apps deal with this is a slope mode - so rather than simulate a flat road, they simulate a climb, so you can very easily adjust to your target power without the increasing speed requiring gear shifts. Usually this slope is also adjustable ala Zwift.

EVENTS: Finish line animations, replay and podium
The finish line in all virtual racing sims is dull - there is no celebration, no podium, no photo finish or specific finish line camera. All of these things could make finishes much more exciting and viewable.
Finish line celebration animations could be unlockable.

MECHANICS: Increase Climbing Rating Importance for Races with Significant Climbs
Summary:
When calculating event ratings for races that include categorized climbs (Cat 4, Cat 3, Cat 2, Cat 1, or HC), the algorithm should place substantially more weight on a rider's climbing rating rather than relying heavily on TT and Endurance ratings. This would create more balanced competition in hilly/mountainous races.Problem:
Currently, the event rating system appears to favor Time Trial and Endurance abilities in any longer race, even in races with significant climbing. This leads to several issues: Climbers with lower overall ratings but strong climbing abilities are placed in lower pens than appropriate. Larger/heavier riders with strong…13 votes -
EVENTS: Event series with consistent bots in each race
I like TPV so far and can see enormous potential for bespoke tours populated by bots. If we could invite specific bots to races - and even series - then we could build a full grand tour with 159 bots and one human user. If I have to run an excel spreadsheet to keep track of cumulative GC rankings then ok but obviously if TPV provided a running leaderboard throughout the series then I’d be giddy.
Even better would be to have all those bots - and the human - in teams with a sprinter, a climber, a TT specialist,…

WORLD: Avatars - drinking (reminder)
Hi,
I would like to suggest something. As drinking on a trainer is quite important and we should drink enough, what about a customable reminder for drinking intervals? Our avatar already has a bottle on the bike and what about if we see him/her drinking at predefined time intervals so we get a reminder to drink also? It's just an idea as with a Garmin computer you already have these kind of reminders. It would be cool and functional. Thank you.

EXTERNAL: Event - Big TrainingPeaks Sponsored Event
I think it would be really fun to have a big event to celebrate and kick-off the new TPV platform with a bunch of popular/famous YouTube cyclists (and non-YouTube as well) to draw intrigue and attention to the platform on social media!
I think it would be fun for those already on the platform but also a great publicity campaign and way to bring new people onto the platform while it is still free!

EVENTS: Automated email explain reason for removal from race
Suggest that when a rider is removed from a race (because of failing performance verification), they should get an email explaining why they were removed and ideally with a graph of the relevant section of data. This would create real transparency and help people to diagnose any issues.

WORKOUTS: Add toggle to turn off power warnings during a workout.
You can turn off cadence warnings but not power warnings. The **** **** sound and text on screen are more warning than I want.

EVENTS: Same kit for group events
When setting up a group ride or group workout, there should be an option to select a kit from the organiser's locker and have this auto assigned to all riders in the event. This is good for coached sessions, coach marketing, event organiser marketing etc.

EVENTS: Distance Based Voice Chat
I’d like to be able to have in-game voice chat for those riding near me to easily communicate, as I would do outside.
Something like “press a keyboard key” and be within +/- 5 meters to enable talking to those riders in-game?
This could help with the socialization on group rides as well as tactically working with riders within the breakaway
Obviously this is something you can disable if you are not interested

UI/UX: Planned TSS visible during workout
For planned workouts, it would be good to know the target TSS once you have started. Just beside the actual TSS would be good as in XX/YY. My coach via TP is big on hitting TSS targets, even if the actual intervals go awry.

EVENTS: Notify team members of new event
When the team manager creates a new event that gets posted to the team page on the Virtual Hub, it would be great if team members could get notified of the new event.

UI/UX: Keymap customisation, media buttons, joystick, IR controller and steering API
The solution would be to allow the user to define their own map of keys in the game. In particular, the ability to define the Gear change keys. Device for changing gears should preferably be a small key attached to the bike's handlebars instead keyboard. Various types of multimedia buttons are available, but these devices need remap.. An alternative could be to provide an API to develop own extension.

MECHANICS: Automatically populate/update training zones when completing a test
It is likely I completely missed something but if so it is likely something that many of the (hopefully) new users will have an issue with if they aren't familiar with TP / TPV and are moving over from another platform.
I am new to Training Peaks and Virtual but have experience on "The Sufferfest". Today I did the Critical Power Test. When I went to look at the zones, the values therein had nothing to do with my test results. I am learning that there are many ways to calculate the zones and this needs to be done by…

MECHANICS: Better Virtual Gear Modeling
Love virtual gear and had some discussion on this before and it generally works. However, the realism of virtual gear doesn't correlate to real gear shifting, for example in real gear I can do one shift (which might jump one or two teeth in a cog), but in virtual gear I might need to +/-3 (or more) to get similar resistance. Hence for pacing or TT, current virtual gear is ok but in a sprint, I still need to resort to physical gears so I can do a gear dump.
Can we do a better modeling of the gears so…

UI/UX: Facial hair and skin tone
Can you please add in more options when it comes to rider representation, and include facial hair? I look real funny clean shaven.
Likewise, I notice all the skin tones are essentially "white".12 votes
