Add Apple Watch App
Extend your iOS support to include Apple Watch. I frequently used TP plans in the past and used the Garmin software to send the TCX files to my watch until Garmin phased that out and make it an unworkable solution. Now they've left the door open for TP to make an Apple Watch app where your daily workout could be done right there on your Apple Watch including all of your pacing data, intervals, and the like and sync the workout to TP natively without any extra hoops. With Apple Watch being the #1 watch on the market (not just fitness watches, but ALL watches) you guys are missing out on a huge potential market. Pitch it to Apple Watch users as a way to do structured workouts with minimal effort.
I know I wouldn't miss having to mentally track intervals and paces every day, or scribble them down on my forearm while using my Garmin 920.
I can't be the only person here thinking you guys are missing out on the potential to sell plans to a huge chunk of Apple Watch users.
Right now we do not plan to write our own workout app for the Apple Watch. There are multiple apps already available for this that are compatible with TrainingPeaks. There are also multiple apps that will read data from HealthKit and write it to TrainingPeaks. We are working with a few developers to support our structured workouts as well.
These are a few apps that read data from HeathKit and write it to TrainingPeaks that we recommend.

Well I think that's next Apple watch should be ran off of the electricity that's in your body instead of having a battery and it should have AI technology in the watch. My name is Norris W Thomas

i would add that this is, by far, the top voted suggestion on this feedback platform though it doesn't show up on the "Top" filtered list.

Any updates on structured workouts on Apple Watch? I tried to add votes to this idea but it looks to be disabled. I exclusively use an Apple Watch and having no way to view and sync structured workouts to the watch (running and swimming) is a major drag. Not sure why this hasn't been actioned in the many years since this issue was first posted.

Any updates on the Apple Watch features? The original post of over 4 years old. Thanks!

Dear Product Manager,
You state above that there are multiple apps already available that are compatible with TrainingPeaks - true. But that doesn't help with your TrainingPeaks Training Plans for structured workouts - intervals, etc.
As a follow-up, you mention that you are working with a few developers to support your structured workouts. I am sure most of us would prefer a native iWatch app that works directly with your platform - not a 3rd party that supports your structured workouts.
Not sure why you wouldn't invest further in iOS since you have an iPhone app, by developing and offering a native iWatch app.
Strava has both an iPhone and iWatch app and so does Nike. However, Strava doesn't yet support structured workouts. Nike has Guided Workouts in their Nike Run Club app which are nice, as they offer Intervals and Fartlek workouts. This is great but doesn't give you the flexibility to edit these workouts and customize them appropriately.
You have an awesome platform for athletes and coaches and what really separates you from an athlete perspective is the Training Plans that you can purchase or build your own or have a coach build one.
Hope you will reconsider your present position on the matter.
Thanks,
Mark

For Apple Watch users wanting to follow structured run training plans there seems no solution to downloading them to their Apple Watch (even via 3rd party apps). Therefore it would be great if TPs could develop this functionality themselves.

I would love to see the ability to run workouts like Garvin does. For example a run with intervals where the watch prompts each interval

If developing an Apple Watch app is not an option at the moment then just like the Stryd app is now capable of fetching TP planned workouts for running what app/company will come next for cycling?

Can you provide an update on what developers support structures workouts on apple?

I am a paying TrainingPeaks customer and I would very much like this functionality. I recently switched from using my Garmin 910xt to Apple Watch 3 for my daily runs and if I cannot import my workouts from the Health app into TrainingPeaks there won't be much of a reason to keep my paid membership. Making the TrainingPeaks app import that Health data would be amazing.
This is indeed a great opportunity for TrainingPeaks to break the de-facto dependency on Garmin devices. Not to mention that they can do so much more that just workouts, using activity, move and HR data in assessing athletes' training load and recovery. I've never worn my Garmin watch the whole day since I use it just for workouts, but I do wear my Apple Watch the whole day, every day.
I think there is definitely a market for this. I suspect TP guys probably think that AW users do not overlap with the core TP audience of more serious amateur or professional athletes. I don't think that's really the case.

If this idea gets entertained another sticking point I have with all of the Apple Watch fitness apps is they don't allow for customization of the data fields presented to the user. Most are hard set to 3-4 fields. If you guys cloned the functionality of Garmin watches and allowed users to pick and choose what fields they see on their data screen you would be "the goto fitness app" for Apple Watch.

Really? Was native support too difficult to implement...?

I am very disappointed about the decision to not support Apple Health natively. I will not renew my Premium membership.

For the price TP wants for their service a lack of Apple Heathkit integration is extremely disappointing. Even their recommended solution of using https://www.fitnesssyncer.com to transfer data only worked for 3 weeks before it stopped working. Per Fitness Syncer it will be months before transfers will work again. https://www.fitnesssyncer.com/support/training-peaks

With the Apple Watch Series 2 offering its own GPS and the Watch being waterproof I would imagine it will gain popularity in the running and triathlon community. It would be nice if the Apple Watch Series 2 would be compatible with Training Peaks or be able to access the data through an app (maybe Nike+). I currently run with Garmin watch and love the way it downloads works to the Garmin App and Training Peaks.

TP is an excellent tool to track training load. However to get a fuller picture of ATL/TSB other health measurements and physical loads (e.g. Steps, physical work) would be immensely helpful.
