The extra clicks required by the new metrics modal design impedes manual data entry compared to the previous design. It would be better if tiles for each of the metrics selected as "In use" in the settings appear by default.

The ability to use the tab key to move focus between the metrics, and the ability to input a character or two to select a drop list item, would further improve the usability for manual input (both of these keyboard interactions were dropped at some point over the past six months).

Another improvement would be to an "additional metrics" UI affordance similar to the new drawer that would enable the user to add metrics that are not selected as "In Use" in settings.

This would strike a balance between making it easier to input daily metrics, facilitating use of metrics which are gathered less frequently (but a user may want to track), and avoiding cluttering the UI with metrics that are not used frequently or an individual user might not want to track.
