UI improvements to Strength Builder
I’d really like to add a bit more detail here, because after 15 years of coaching athletes (12 of those specifically in Strength & PT), I see some big opportunities to improve the Strength Workout Builder.
At the moment the flow is a bit off: athletes first see all the exercise videos, and only afterwards can they fill in reps, weight, RPE, etc. That doesn’t feel logical. Ideally, it should work like this:
You see the exercise (or a block of two/three if it’s a superset),
Right below it you can directly log results (weight, reps, RPE, notes),
Then, optionally, you can click on the video or description if you need it.
This way athletes don’t have to scroll back and forth between exercises, videos, and then the general comment section. Right now, if someone does 5–6 different exercises in one workout, they have to constantly return to the general notes section to type “Bulgarian Split Squat = RPE 9, 2x12 @20kg” etc. It’s messy and not user-friendly.
What I think would make a massive difference:
A comment/notes field per exercise or block, so athletes can log RPE and specific feedback right where it belongs.
A more compact layout, with results first, then videos underneath (instead of the other way around).
The ability to group exercises into blocks (supersets/circuits), instead of seeing them all separated with no connection.
I know from experience (also working in software and innovation) that these sound like small tweaks, but they really change the athlete’s experience. At the moment it feels like TrainingPeaks is still very endurance-focused in its UX, which makes sense historically, but strength athletes and hybrid athletes are really left struggling here.
