Advanced Workout Search
Hi, i've been with Training Peaks for around 6 months. My calendar is display quite a lot of completed workouts. There has a been a numerous amount of times when I have needed to search for a workout a) to see how well I did and b) to consider whether to do it again and c) for comparison purposes. Currently I have only been able to scroll the page up/down the calendar to find it (beta version). I am proposing the idea that there is a workout search but is quite advanced so that it can find workouts based on title, type, tss score, duration, elevation gain plus all the other key variables recorded on a workout. I guess athletes do log there planned workouts well in advance aswell and so the search could differentiate between planned and completed.

You can now search for your workouts, past and future, using our mobile apps. Let us know what you think!

How has this not been implemented yet? It's just a query function, come on TP!

Please implement search. It's frustrating to manually look for a workout (that I put a title on) so as to compare improvements.

Hi,
Been using training log since I started running 15 years ago and constantly use the search workouts to compare previous workouts by type, route, etc.
Very disappointed with training peaks. -

I find the search function incredibly useful and don't think Classic should be phased out until the New TP has that functonality!

Adding my vote, for what its worth. I want this too. Can't believe GarminConnect is better at anything. =)
Minimally, text in comments or titles, but then eventually a full featured search (distance, time, location, etc) would be amazing.

Yes, my current wish is to be able to search by location, or run type, ie track, road, trail.

I am still waiting for a search function to find and compare against former workouts/races. What is the status???

Come on, TrainingPeaks, please give us searching!!! If this isn't going to happen, I'm thinking about moving my data to SportTracks in the near future.

Searching for, and comparing workouts and races is one of the few things I use Garmin Connect for. Please add this feature.

Yes, spreadsheet view (or something similar) is critical to running my coaching business. I can quickly scroll through a week of workouts, read comments, then click through on any workouts I want to dig into more deeply. If I have to click through on every workout it will destroy my productivity / business.

It's very frustrating that we're still waiting for the ability to search our historical workouts, and metrics. Even free text search on the text fields would mean that you could find the right subset, and a sortable result list on date/TSS/etc. would do most of the rest.
I also asked back in February 2014 whether searching of metrics could be implemented and got this response from Marcus Ward:
"Currently you can't search metrics but based on your use case you should be able to. I'm going to pass a request over to development when they implement the search in beta that they make searching metrics an option. I don't have a timeline for when that'll be implemented but know that our current development schedule timeline is: as fast as possible."
9+ months and counting is not feeling that fast... :-(
There were several search-related ideas on the old web app beta forum, but they don't all seem to have been transferred and I no longer have access to e.g. http://peaksware.uservoice.com/forums/211793-trainingpeaks-web-app-beta-group/suggestions/5238577-in-the-calendar-view-provide-the-ability-to-search

I would like spreadsheet type page where data can be viewed at a glance. The data in each column should be customizable. So for instance, you could select to have a column for average HR, average pace, distance etc. This makes it easy to assess 30 workouts on one page with a customizable range of data all on one line. Strava has almost got it right with their "My Activities" page. Unfortunately their data columns are not customizable yet.

I'd like to be able to compare activities with past recorded activities. (e.g. overall time, time in power zones / heart rates, speed, total effort, etc).

Following on from my previous comment, please include searching metrics as well as workouts.
I use the Notes metric as a record of what I've been up to/how I'm feeling outside of training sessions recorded as workouts, and it would be very useful to be able to search for certain keywords that I use, etc.
Thank you!

With the classic app, I regularly search for text I know I put in post-exercise comments. Please add searching of all text fields (title, description, comments, etc.) in the new app. Searching on numerical fields (distance, pace, TSS, IF, etc.) and limiting to date ranges, etc. would of course be great too, but text searching is key for me.
Thanks.

I'd love it if there were a way to search workouts by the specified equipment. It makes sense that if you can associate each workout with certain equipment, that you should be able to drill down on each piece of equipment to find out what workouts have been performed with that equipment. I don't feel that is appropriate for me to have to go into the 'Settings' menus in order to find out how far a pair of shoes has been worn for. Confused
A major reason for wishing this, is that I've just imported years of data. I have a pair of shoes that is near the end of their life, according to the kilometers reported by TP. To check that this figure is accurate, I have to go back through years and years of imported data to check that I don't have a bunch of runs from 'back in the day' that I've accidentally assigned to my current shoes. If I could search for workouts relating to this pair of shoes, I could quickly check that I've entered the data correctly.
