Many thanks for your suggestion and support for TrainingPeaks Virtual.

As another commenter has already noted, TrainingPeaks Virtual is currently unable to legally add support for Zwift controllers. If Zwift decide to permit their hardware to be used on TrainingPeaks Virtual, we would of course add support for it.

  2. Hi, when i started the TPV journey weeks ago the world was bright and shiny but since one or two weeks i start TPV and want to connect my Equipment via BT to my iPad but it doesn’t show up on the App even when i search for it. Ok so i have to stop the app and start it again and voila it is there again… but my Core Temperature is missing and i can not even choose.
This happened already and then i even lost ERG Mode. Another day everything was ok again and it automatically connected to…

Many thanks for letting us know about this, and your support for TrainingPeaks Virtual.

As you say, this issue is probably better handled through support (rather than here as an enhancement request, though obviously we'll keep trying to improve the experience).

Please feel free to email virtual@trainingpeaks.com who can help guide you through getting this working!

This appears to be an issue with your trainer, rather than the TrainingPeaks Virtual software. Please can you contact customer support at virtual@trainingpeaks.com who may be able to help you fix this.

  4. Regularly throughout my ride I have periods lasting from 2 to 15 seconds where the avatar stops pedaling and loses speed (sometimes stopping entirely), even while my power and cadence readings from my trainer are continuing as normal in the TPV UI. This is especially noticeable on climbs, and this is often followed by the avatar jumping forward and backward on the road. If this happens at higher speed, such as in a pace group, my avatar falls off the back of the group like it stopped pedaling. This makes it very difficult to train in a group or do…

The symptoms you describe are what happens when there is an unstable internet connection and your computer is not receiving accurate information about the positions of all the riders from the server (essentially it means your computer has to guess the positions as there is no way it could possibly know where they should accurately be without external information about them, and then when it intermittently receives updates from the server, then they "jump" to the correct positions).

The fix therefore is to ensure that your internet connection is stable. If you need any help with this, please feel free to reach out to Customer Support at virtual@trainingpeaks.com

  5. From first minute of a structured workout, TPV hits the target power momentarily then drops to about 50-70W and swings wildly up and down. Regret system unworkable.

This isn't an issue that other users are seeing, and therefore it is most likely to be a configuration or hardware issue, rather than a bug with TrainingPeaks Virtual. Can you please reach out to Customer Support (virtual@trainingpeaks.com) who may be able to help you resolve this, and we'll close tracking this as a separate issue here.

  6. I have been working on it for a couple of weeks, trying different tweaks, but I can't get TP Virtual to save the data from the workout. Sometimes, nothing is saved, but usually it will save the power data but nothing else. I've tried using the ipad app and the Macbook platform. I have turned off other Bluetooth devices (other than the bike which can't be turned off). I have tried re-booting everything because I start a ride (the computer, the trainer). But no joy!

The latest version is v0.4.19 so it looks like you're still using a (very) old version of indieVelo, and not TrainingPeaks Virtual. If you uninstall indieVelo and install the latest version of TrainingPeaks Virtual, then everything should work as expected.

  8. I set in Trainer settings my assioma power meter preferred to be used as primary power source. However if I enter a race, then TPV automatically switches to the power meter of my HTR, when HTR is required for that event/race.
My issue is that my HTR has an internal power meter but this one is quite bad and exposes much more high watt figures than i produce and i don't want to use it. In zwift i can participate to events/races with my calibrated assiomas power meter. I would llke the same in TPV. Pls do not override my…

The use of the powermeter as the primary source of power is only over-ridden in events where the organiser has selected that the primary source of power must be from a smart trainer. In all other events, then the option to use a powermeter to determine your power is retained.

As such, this function is working exactly as intended. If you want to use a powermeter as the primary source of power, then you will need to enter events where the event organiser has not decided to disallow that.

  9. Rode yesterday with TPV on iphone. Paused after 2.5 hours to get a drink. When returned, the ride had ended. Not the end of the world and the ride does appear within TPV log, however, it is not syncing with TP. ANy way to fix this?

Additionally, I then started another ride, using the same workout option from the Train section. I used the segments, just advanced the main one after 2 hours and completed this ride. This, however, has completely failed to appear anywhere (neither TPV nor TP). Again, help and advice would be appreciated.

There was an isolated issue with synchronisation of FIT files from TPV to TP yesterday, that was quickly resolved. In general, the files already synchronise for every ride, and we'll continue to look at making that process more resilient in the future rather than tracking this as a separate issue in UserVoice.

  10. Since last Update (v0.4.9), the TPV and FitFiles Folder have vanished and therefore the fitfiles are gone. Please bring the Fiotfiles back!!! ... I used them to sync with Garmin Connect and its just missing on my iPAD but not on the iPhone!

Many thanks for your message, and support for TrainingPeaks Virtual.

Note that nothing has changed between versions about the storage of FIT files, so suspect that there may be some other configuration issue here that has changed on your iPad.

Rather than track this here as a feature request, please can you reach out to the Customer Support team (virtual@trainingpeaks.com) who can help you with this.

  12. My Apple TV is 4K version with tvOS 18.2.1. And my MacBook Pro 14” M3 with macOS 15.1.1.

I can’t see the P2M device shows on my Apple TV.

On MacBook Pro, P2M can be shown on the power meter list. But it always shows no signal. On the same time, my Garmin device can get the power from P2M (with BLE).

This is working as the Bluetooth protocol is designed. Over bluetooth, a device can only be paired to one other device at a time. So if your powermeter is paired to your Garmin, then it won't be able to be paired to TrainingPeaks Virtual.

If you try to pair to TrainingPeaks Virtual without having first paired to your Garmin, then everything should work as expected.

  13. Grade calculation/adjustment: 150 FTP and 130kg means riding at 1.0mph uphill. I'm riding for charity attempting to accumulate miles indoors and out. Hard to ride indoors when elevation causes me to ride 1.0 mph. Don't have 300 hours to ride in a month.

For better, or for worse, TrainingPeaks Virtual uses an accurate physics model for the movement of bicycles in the application. This means that your speed indoors will match your speed outdoors, and on steep inclines that means going slowly.

If you want to accumulate virtual miles, then we strongly recommend riding on the flatter areas of the island. For example, the "Forest Velodrome" route is perfectly flat with no hills at all, and the "Coastal Loop" route is mostly flat. You can also sort all the routes in-app using the filters at the top of the "Ride" tab of the main menu, to show them in order of their average gradient so you can easily see which routes to pick!

  14. Hi,

I was doing a workout on TPV and everything looked fine. I had some pauzes in a 2h workout but timers all worked accordingly. When i pauzed, 1st time i didn't hit any key on laptop but avatar and timers went in pauze mode. After a while i started pedalling again and everything fine (as usual). Next stop i've hit pauze button (down on screen) to pauze timers and avatar (as i was riding in a downhill) and wanted to pauze everything. I came back and continued and again, everything fine again. After 2h my workout was done and…

  15. TPV laptop app does not auto disable my screen sleep function, so when it kicks in the screens goes to sleep and the rider stops riding. If I don't spot it immediately the workout stops and I have to restart from the beginning again. It requires constant vigilance to remember to move the mousepad to keep the screen awake. This is a significant failing compared to other apps like Zwift and TrainerRoad that do not do this. I hope you can fix this soon!

Many thanks for letting us know about this, and your support for TrainingPeaks Virtual.

There is actually already functionality in TrainingPeaks Virtual to do this, and this is the first time a problem has been reported with it - as such, this feels like a configuration issue that perhaps the TrainingPeaks Virtual customer support team are better placed to help you with, than this being an enhancement to the product that should be tracked here. If you reach out to them on virtual@trainingpeaks.com hopefully they can help you resolve this issue on your laptop.

  16. When doing workouts, when the target power changes up/down I get huge power resistance (500-600-700W) before it then balances back down to what it’s supposed to be.
Does anyone else get these or have I done something wrong in setup?

Many thanks for letting us know about this, and your support for TrainingPeaks Virtual.

Nothing changed in the latest release with the ANT+ pairing, and so any change here must have been a co-incidence. That said, there are a few known issues with the pairing sometimes not working so we will continue to work on solving those in parallel (but there's no need to track it again here in this separate UserVoice entry, so closing this one as a duplicate of the others).

  18. Since the new update (March 9th 2025) the erg mode resistance/power readings on my planned workouts have been incorrect where I am pushing harder than I would usually to maintain the same power and I am unable to finish workouts. This was using a JetBlack Volt trainer. I have done the same workouts in the previous week with no issues so I know it’s not a fitness problem so wanted to raise the issue here in case others are hitting the same issue. The readings from my trainer and the power meter (estimated power) are also substantially different which wasn’t…

Note that nothing changed in this area in that release, so more likely than not this is an issue with the hardware, and not the software.

That said, please feel free to reach out to the support team (virtual@trainingpeaks.com) who may be able to help you with this.

  19. I have 2 powermeters one in the smart trainer and one garmin in my pedals. The power gap between them can be 30w. I have tried to use tpv with the garmin powermeter as reference but had a bumpy experience in terms of ease to ride and getting the right feeling. I would like you to add a c9mmand offset so i can use my smart trainer features with a closer data to my garmin

Whilst this might seem like a good idea, it would be merely a sticking plaster over the actual underlying issue - that your trainer and powermeter are calibrated differently (and/or inaccurate). It would be far better to resolve the actual issue, than simply cover it up.

  20. Hi,
I use a NordVPN on my Windows 10 laptop.

If I try to spectate or ride a course and the VPN is active then the course generation hangs.

If I pause the VPN I can spectate the course as expected. If while on the course I restart the VPN then all the riders disappear.

NordVPN has the option of split tunnelling i.e. it is possible to exclude specific programs from being filtered by the VPN.

I have tried excluding TPVirtual-Launcher.exe with no success.

It is more than possible that it could be a set up issue on my part.
