ERG mode does not work with Elite Drivo
When in a workout and in ERG mode the power is not adjusted and does not follow the value set in the workout.
4 votesMany thanks for your suggestion and support for TrainingPeaks Virtual.
I'm delighted to say that this has now been implemented in the latest release (v0.4.11) which is out today. This significantly improves the pairing infrastructure to resolve issues with ERG mode, sensors and dropouts.

WORLD: Routes - more free rides
I'd like to see more middle distance free rides between 20-50 miles with a variety of climbing . . . just more variety. Thanks!
15 votesMany thanks for your suggestion, and support for TrainingPeaks Virtual.
I'm delighted to say that over the past year since this was raised, many more routes have been added to the main islands, as well as the ability to import GPX files so you can ride any route you want, anywhere in the world, at any time.
Whilst we'll continue to add more routes in the future, now feels like a good time to close this issue down. Any further ideas for improvements to routes can of course be made in new suggestions!

FPV (View 3) is not correct
I prefer to ride in FPV, or have till I started with TPV. Besides finding the bar ends visible in this view as annoying/distracting, the view angle is just not right. The perception point needs to be higher as currently it seems you would be lying on your top tube with a focal point of the rump of the rider in front of you. It does not align with the the upright position of the avatar, or even someone in the drops (which is what I suspect you were going for).

You can already adjust the height of the First Person View to be exactly as you would like it - either crouched down showing lots of handlebar, further up showing none, or anywhere inbetween.

Use the middle of a power range when uploading workouts from Training Peaks
I have noticed that when i use workouts from my synced training peaks calendar, TPV seems to use the low end of the range. I would be glad if TPV would use the middle of the range. Also, a button for manually adjusting the power while working out, would be appreciated!

This feature has now been implemented, and will be available in v0.4.5 which is out now on PC, Mac and Android, and will be available on iOS / AppleTV once approved by Apple for release in the AppStore (typically 24-48 hours later).

UI/UX: Add length and elevation gain in route selection
Add info about length and elevation gain of the route when in workout mode.
This will make it easier to select "finishable" routes for certain workouts.
21 votesMany thanks for your suggestion and support for TrainingPeaks Virtual.
I'm delighted to say that this has now been implemented, and when selecting a route to do a workout on, you can clearly see the distance, elevation, course profile and even a complete map of where it goes.

Weight Sync from Trainingpeaks
Synchronize Weight from trainingpeaks to TPVirtual so you don't have to enter it twice.
The source shouldn't really matter. Should just be from the last entry.

For Rides, add a "Sort by" Feet to Miles option
When riding outside, 100 ft to 1 mile is supposed to be a good climbing workout, so having a sort by 'feet to miles' field would be nice in selecting routes. Also helpful when picking group ride routes, can look for routes in the 50 ft to 1 mile ratio for more rolling hills type routes vs big climbs.
2 votesMany thanks for your suggestion and support for TrainingPeaks Virtual.
You can however actually already do exactly what you are requesting - just select the "Sort by Gradient" option when selecting a route, and it will sort them by the average gradient (i.e. elevation divided by distance)...either highest to lowest or lowest to highest as you prefer.

Trainingpeaks virtual login screen
Please only show my account when the app has started up. Now I get the option new/existing/indievelo account. After clicking existing account everytime I again have to click my account name. It would really help if only my account is visible and it only costs one click

Apple tv remote
Activate the clicking on the remote. At the moment only the swiping is working correctly but it would help if the clicking with the remote works as expected to move to the next button or screen
50 votesMany thanks for your suggestion, and support for TrainingPeaks Virtual.
I'm delighted to say that this has now been implemented in the latest release (v0.4.10) which is out today. This release significantly reworks the Apple TV remote support, including enabling the button clicks on Gen2 & Gen3 Siri remotes, and support for "Click Only" mode on AppleTV 4K devices.
This should significantly improve menu navigation on AppleTV with the AppleTV remote.
As an alternative, you may also be interested to know that TrainingPeaks Virtual additionally fully supports game controllers (e.g. XBox / Playstation etc) being paired to AppleTV which will therefore give you a much greater number of buttons / joysticks etc to control "hotkeys" when riding and navigating menus.

Battery consumption is extremely high on smartphone
My Android smartphone had 86% battery when I started a one hour TP Virtual session comprising circa 15 minutes setting up the app UI, then 45 minutes of cycling. At the end my battery was on 36%. Ie: half the battery was consumed in one hour.
For comparison, when I previously used Wattbike Hub instead of TP Virtual I would expect a circa 10-20% battery drain.
The device became very warm to the touch, indicating the CPU is being hammered.
Device: Fairphone 5 with latest September update
OS: Android 14
RAM: 256GBTP Virtual Settings: medium resolution graphics, low res…

It is very likely that this is caused by your phone being configured to run at a very high frame rate, causing it to max out the CPU / GPU to try and achieve this.
You can however already choose to run at a much lower frame rate which will conserve the battery - from the Main Menu, select Options > Graphics Settings > Frame Rate and change it to a low value (e.g. 20 FPS Max).
From the same menu, turning VSync on, and other settings down will also have a significant impact on limiting the battery drain.

This can actually already be done in TrainingPeaks Virtual. From the Main Menu, simply select Options > UI Settings > Camera Mode, and turn it to "Off". This will display all your key data overlays, but not the virtual world.

The ability to increase / decrease the difficulty of a workout, and/or to toggle on / off ERG mode, are already fully supported in TrainingPeaks Virtual.
Simply select the icons which are on the action menu (tap the bottom middle of the screen, or hover a mouse over there, to view it). If you have a keyboard, you can use the hotkeys +, -, and E respectively.

Add Promoted tab on event page
Have a category for major curated events. In Zwift there too many events, so many with small registration and it just becomes a noisy list.
6 votesMany thanks for this suggestion, comments and your support for TrainingPeaks Virtual.
I'm delighted to say that this has now been implemented for you and is available in the latest version (v0.4.6) out today. As noted, this adds a "Popular Signups" tab to the Events menu screen so you can easily see events which are popular with others (as measured by the number of signups to that event).

Core Body Temperature Sensor pairing
Core body temperature sensor pairing with Apple TV is not working and even if TPv is running on MacBook.
All other sensors will be recognised immediately.
Would be great to have the same functionality for the Core body temperature sensor1 voteMany thanks for your suggestion and support for TrainingPeaks Virtual.
TrainingPeaks Virtual already fully supports pairing with a CORE body temperature sensor. When on the pairing screen, then you may however need to scroll down to see it as it appears just below where the powermeter pairing is shown.
If you are still having difficulties with pairing however, then please do reach out to Customer Support who may be able to assist.

TPV freezes on startup
TPV freezes when starting on a Windows computer.
It happened since the first installation and I never got past this screen.
Any ideas?1 voteMany thanks for your comment and support for TrainingPeaks Virtual.
This is due to a bug that was briefly in the Windows installer for one day (October 29th). If you redownload the Windows installer from https://trainingpeaks.com/virtual check that you have the latest installer (the date stamp on the file will be October 30th) and re-install TrainingPeaks Virtual, this issue will be resolved for you.

tpv workouts in tp workout menu.
I'm planning to do a ramp test next week. I looked for the ramp test in the tp workout menu and I can't find it there. is it possible to get those workouts in the tpv menu read over into tp so that they can be scheduled from there, possibly in a separate tpv menu or just lumped in with the existing tp workouts. thanks. Jon.

FTP Ramp Tests are already built into TrainingPeaks Virtual - simply select to view All Workouts, and then either scroll down to find it, or use the filter options to show just the Test workouts.

Show all cloud services that are getting the workout data on the TP upload screen
When uploading a training session to TP and to other cloud services (E.g., Strava), it would be helpful to show which services will receive the data on the upload screen. Right now, it only shows TP on the upload screen even though I know it's also going to Strava. After I connected Strava, I assumed it would show a Strava icon or something every time I upload. Thanks.
2 votesMany thanks for your suggestion and support for TrainingPeaks Virtual.
TrainingPeaks Virtual already does exactly what you suggest - if you have authorized a connection to Strava, then the Strava logo will be shown when you finish a ride and are given the option to upload it. If the Strava logo is not being displayed for you it is because you have not authorized TrainingPeaks Virtual to connect to it - perhaps your rides are being synchronized to Strava another way rather than directly from TrainingPeaks Virtual?
