EXTERNAL: Garmin integration
Being able to upload data directly to Garmin and have metrics (training load, vo2 etc) calculated as per the other online platforms (TrainerRoad, Zwift etc)

It would be great if garmin is motivated enough to have a sync with tpv just like there is with other tools. Hopefully it helps that it is now part of Trainingpeaks

Workaround: download finished workout ride from training peaks data (not tpv) and upload into garmin account.

yes please!

"The FIT file from TPV isn't saved as a finished workout; it is just a course ride.
This is critical because no finished workout data from TPV sessions is being saved to my Garmin account."

Dual recording is not an option.
Sure the problem is Garmin but the FIT files produced by TPv are very simple right now.
Some of the data from FIT files is used by e.g. Garmin to calculate training metrics. Some are proprietary but others are not.Can you please add:
max power, average power, normalized gradient, normalized power, threshold power (as configured in TP), intensity factor, total work, average heartrate, max heartrate, average cadence, max cadence, workout RPE (as used in TP too)Yeah, that's what I came across so far.
So if Garmin won't accept an official connection please enable us users to help ourselves by improving the FIT files. Uploading to Garmin is possible with workarounds.

Hi all,
We have a forum for TrainingPeaks Virtual here: https://peaksware.uservoice.com/forums/964442-trainingpeaks-virtual-customer-feedback

whilst this would be an important addition, I am dual recoding on my Garmin device as well as TP Virtual and then I'll just edit the activity in app with the distance details from the TPV ride.

+1, this would be good to see. It currently works with Scheduled Workouts (duration based only; not distance)
All around streamlining of TPv with regard to connections would be great.

Garmin Connect Sync feature available.

When I upload file from strava (currently can’t use training peaks file as it is a fit.gz file) it does not have training load for garmin to add load to your workout.
-
Paul Cayer commented
Yes, I agree. This should happen asap as the majority of athletes use garmin

Paul Cayer commented
There is no synchronization to garmin connect. It goes to training peaks and strata but nothing for garmin without saving a file and importing which seems ridiculous as zwift seems to understand this

This is a key requirement to have activities imported automatically in Garmin Connect and not manually or through a workaround.

I track all my training on Garmin Connect. This app pre-dates Strava and covers activities beyond cycling. This is a critical application for me. It is my one stop for looking at my summary training, tracking miles on my bikes and activities like Diving, Strength Training, Swimming, Hiking...

There's already an open request for this with many more votes.

From DC Rainmaker:
"They stopped accepting inbound training platform applications many years ago, roughly a bit after the Tacx acquisition (as they half-heartedly want you to us the Tacx App). A number of other training platforms have requested access since.
The only one they’d accept these days, if requested, would be Peloton (since the benefit to Garmin far outweighs the handful of people that might be overlap). But doesn’t sound like Peloton is interested in that."

I agree this would be great, but the issue is on the Garmin side - they have stated they are not accepting new connections.
There is a workaround to use RunGap to spoof as a garmin device and automatically upload your activities. If you join the TPV facebook group and search for RunGap, you will find my detailed guide.

This is the one and only addition to the platform that will make me leave Zwift for good. I have used IndieVelo 3 times during the last week and love it, but I train in the mornings and the seamless integration with all my platforms that Zwift offers has made me go back to it. I cant waste time having to manually load .fit files.
Please add this.

For me, this is crucial. I tried the platform and can see it has great potential. I would love to use it as my only indoor trainer/racer, but Connect is my fitness aggregator, and I won't use another platform. If you can interact with Connect to send my workouts, then paying for a subscription is a no-brainer. However, as it stands, I will wait to see if this is implemented.

I can link to Strava but it would also be good to link to Garmin and MyFitness Pal
