deactivate ERG mode - I use an Edge 520 and TP
need to see if you can help me deactivate ERG mode - I use an Edge 520 and TP IQ to download my workouts (power based from my coach).
For some of these the power output is a guideline - and cadence is more important. But due to the 'smart' trainer the resistance goes all over the place.
Outside of TP workouts I can turn off ERG on the Garmin 520, but all turbos are driven by TP workouts.4 votesOnce you are performing the workout you are back in Garmin’s workout interface, so all the same workout settings are available. The Edge 520 uses the ANT+ FE-C protocol to control smart trainers. You should be able to unpair that sensor to prevent the 520 from controlling the resistance of the trainer. you will need to reference the User Guide for 520 for specifics.

There are multiple mobile, and desktop, apps that will import structured workouts from TrainingPeaks for controlling smart trainers. These are some of our favorites:
https://www.trainingpeaks.com/blog/choosing-the-right-indoor-cycling-app/There is an app for Garmin devices that import structured workouts from TrainingPeaks. The newer Garmin models will control smart trainers that support the ANT+ FE-C protocol.

HRV vs TSS in a single chart
In Dashboard section, I would like to see a chart that shows relations between HRV and TSS.
I have tried HRV with the overlap of "Yesterday's training", but it does not really show any data for the training and if shows them - it will be the TSS score of what?
I see the HRV is a data field in Metrics and TSS is part of the activities tracking (calculated field?) and those two sources seem to not be integrated into a single chart. Do you have some future plans to do so?
Thanks a lot in advance.Best regards, …
4 votesHRV and TSS can be displayed on the same chart in our mobile apps. Using our mobile apps you can display any metric along side just about any aggregate workout value. I suggest adding TSS, HRV, and Sleep to a PMC chart to see how all those values interact. Our Customer Success Team can give you more details. https://help.trainingpeaks.com/hc/en-us/requests/new

It would be nice to see which outside services such as Garmin are connected to my TrainingPeaks account. Most other places have something like this to view connected apps.

Workouts should be saved to the device when downloaded through the TP App
I noticed today that the app will only download the workout when it is connected to the device, it does not really save the workout on the device. I mean this. I opened the app and downloaded the workout, the app then asked me if I wished to do the workout now. I did not so I closed the TP app thinking it was saved on the watch and I could come back to it later. When I reopened the app, the workout was gone. I had to redownload it and then keep the app open until I got to…
4 votesThe workouts are saved by default to the device and can be accessed later on without using the TrainingPeaks IQ app.
The workouts can be accessed through Garmin’s interface. Make sure that you know the name of the workout you are looking for. This is from Garmin’s help site:
1. From the watch face, select START.
2. Select an activity type
3. Hold the “9 o’clock” button to enter settings
4. Select Training > My Workouts.
5. Select a workout. Look for it by name.
6. Select Do Workout.
7. Select START to start the timer. Here is Garmin’s help page for going this on a 935, it is the same on all their watches

Hidden Workouts in Dynamic Plans
For some reason, you can't "Hide" Workouts in a Dynamic plan. This seems like it would be an easy bit of functionality to pull over.

Automatic sync with Apple iPhone. The ability for the app to sync with my workouts is poor at best.
Improved sync with Apple iPhone. I consistently have issues uploading workouts to the app. Often workouts are missed. This makes me less likely to engage in purchase of programs. Fix this issue and I would absolutely reconsider

Improve sorting of exercises in New Strength Builder
It would be great if the first result(s) are the most common or generic option when adding an exercise to the plan. While it is nice the New Strength Builder has a large library of exercise (names) to choose from, this plethora of variations makes it difficult to prescribe just the most basic exercise.
For example, if I search "squat", I most likely want a back squat, not an air squat, anderson squat, cossack squat, etc. This most-common variant could even be bolded or highlighted in such a way to indicate it is recommended.
This is important when exercises are…

It'd be really nice to be able to re-label intervals.
Rather than interval1, interval 2, etc... being able to label them as: warmup, cooldown, ilt, tempo, etc. Freetext with maybe a 20 character limit.
3 votesThis feature was implemented with the last site update we did a few weeks back. Thanks!

Project ManagerGood news, we already have this on the development to-do list for 2011. This feature will behave just like marking up intervals behaves in our WKO+ product (if you are familiar with that), so you will be able to rename existing intervals as well as highlight a section of the graph and label it anything you want. Glad to hear you are looking forward to this feature coming to TrainingPeaks.com online accounts. Thanks for the suggestion!

Personal notes on days...
I would like to make a notes on days or weeks for many reasons, illness, events, travel ect. I know we get a summary of the week on the right, but I think it would be great to have a more visual description. For example, rest week. Another example is when I am reviewing my workouts I noticed a missed a session as it was red, however I can not remember whether there was a reason for this, it wasn't until I consulted my personal calendar that I realised I was working that day.

Configurable # training week/rest ratio in the ATP versus triggering on date of birth
Would like to choose the # training weeks/ rest week ratio in the ATP rather than defaulting based on age. Ideally one could set it to reasonable range but at least it should offer 3 weeks to 1 week or 2 weeks to 1 week as two options.

Hide/Show Hidden workouts from calendar
Have a way to toggle hidden workouts on/off the coach's calendar view or maybe just shade hidden workouts a different color so they don't get lost between non-hidden workouts.

BUG: Post-workout comment box loses focus when editing.
Often when editing comments the post-workout input box loses focus after a short period of time. For example, if I've just paused from typing for a few seconds.
As described here: https://gist.github.com/olanb7/784a7bb491cd6fb8004f
I was advised to post the bug here via twitter: https://twitter.com/olanb7/status/507439741974102016
It's highly annoying ;)
Verified on Chrome/39.0.2138.3 Mac 10.9.4 Build 13E28.. but it's been happening for as long as the beta has been available for me.

Body fat % as a metric in app
Body fat % is not an option to enter as a metric in the TP.com iOS app. Arguably the most important metric!
3 votesPercent Body Fat is available on all of our platforms. The mobile apps only show the metrics that have been configured for display.
This is how to configure metric settings in the classic app, the same settings are available in the beta web-app.

Reduce the amount of wasted space.
Reduce the amount of wasted space above the calendar. On laptops this take a good portion of the screen. Full screen is not helpful in this situation as it is helpful to see other open application for athlete notes.

formatting activity comments
The formatting of pre-activity comments appears to have a bug. If comments are copy/pasted from one workout to another, the formatting (e.g. paragraph returns) do not carry over. Plus, the cursor tends to jump around from where one clicks to start editing these comments. Can this be fixed? Thanks.
