TSS algorithm
It is a pity that the TSS calculation algorithm only takes into account duration and heart rate. To value 3 hours of cycling in the same way as 3 hours of running (at the same heart rate) for example does not seem the most accurate: the level of joint and metabolic stress has nothing to do with it.
I suggest making a TSS calculation algorithm that takes more factors into account.3 votesThank you for your feedback!
The TSS model is based on the metabolic demands of training.
Roughly speaking, this is done by comparing your level of effort to your lactate threshold. This is how we can tell how much “stress” a workout was, and turn that into Fitness/Form/Fatigue that describe your fitness specific to endurance sport.
Generally, heart rate zones for running are higher than for cycling. This means that for TSS to best reflect your efforts, you should make sure your zones are correct for each.
TSS is not meant to account for the mechanical demands of different activities, like running vs cycling vs lifting weights.
This is an interesting problem in sport science, and a very challenging one because there are a lot more variables to consider when trying to quantify the loads that different tissues might experience. The first step is following a good plan from an experienced…

Calendar Workouts Color
Would love to be able to color the calendar for Endurance, Force, Anaerobic, Power, Testing, recover etc workouts. That way I could ease see what kind of workouts I have done in the last 30 days or so. Does I make sense?
2 votesThanks for the suggestion, but this is not something we will be working on in the foreseeable future.

Hi Dylan,
Thanks for submitting this feature suggestion. The duration of a workout should be the same already when synced to a 3rd party Calendar view the .ics URL. If you are having troubles with this feature, please submit a support ticket here:

Stop Automatic Upload of Weight Metrics From Watch
I upload workouts from my Timex Global Trainer. A few weeks ago, I noticed the same weight metric started appearing in TP each day, which I did not enter. I have since learned that as a result of the last firmware or device agent update, the Global Trainer now sends a weight measurement with the device file data at upload. The automatically uploaded weight measurement is drawn from user settings in the watch. Thus, every uploaded weight measurement is the same; it is not based on the user’s actual weight from that day. This creates a problem in TP when…

It would be nice to see the training plans in a view other than the calendar. I would like to print out the plan without dates so I can get an idea of what it entails and when it would best fit into my schedule.

On the strenght workout portion, when you have a work out set up like the MS workout, allowing me to input the number of reps and weight of set immdietly. I used to go into edit mode and sorta do it but now that is even gone. Id like to be able to record on the fly as I go.

Calculate Estimated Calories in Planned Workout Based on Avg. Power/KJ Estimate
It would be amazing to be able to estimate the caloric need of a given planned workout by giving an estimated power, or estimated KJ/work to then estimate the athletes caloric need for that given session.

Ability to track custom metrics (e.g. grip strength), not just pre-defined ones (e.g. fatigue)
I would like to be able to track custom metrics over time. I use some of the "fixed" metrics like weight, pulse etc. However there are some metrics that I would like to track that there is no way in TrainingPeaks to track.
For example, I would like to track grip strength as one of my indicators/proxy for fatigue, but there is no way to add this as a custom metric or track it

Trend Line on Weight / Fat Percentage Graphs
I use my scales every day to track my weight and fat percentage - so I get a good idea of where my weight is going. However due to the number of data points on the graph its hard to see where its going (and with the numbers fluctuating a lot)
Would it be possible to add a trend line to these graphs so we can see if we are heading in the right or wrong direction. Thanks.

Exlude Paused Time From Graph View
Please exclude from the graph view the time where the workout recording device (eg. Garmin EDGE 500) is paused or stopped. It would be more informative to show actual workout time instead of total elapsed time. Or at least provide the option to view it this way if some users do want to see the full elapsed time. Many cyclists, for example, make a coffee stop during the ride, and we only want to see actual riding time, not coffee-break time.
1 voteMark, thanks for taking the time to submit this suggestion. The graph view has the option to be displayed in Time or Distance. When you switch to Distance (click the D), you will eliminate any stop time in the data. Hope that helps.

Filtering in spreadsheet view
I would love to be able to filter the spreadsheet by workout type- So I can compare all of the data from my running workouts in a single sheet, without seeing stats from my biking workouts, etc.
1 voteWe already have this feature, so declining the request. Thanks for inquiring though!

Mass upload workouts to library
The ability to add past workouts to library in batch as opposed to one-by-one. This would allow me to quickly recreate a training plan from my past calendar (months) in training peaks and apply to a new race. For example, last year I had a coach and he trained me for the Boston Marathon. I will do another marathon and would like to reapply the same training but to different dates.

Week summary
Give option on week summary to show cycling TSS, rTSS, sTSS or total TSS - right now it just shows total.

Hide Week Summary
It would be nice if Week Summary could be hidden (not turned off) just like the left panel (column) and make more room for calendar.
1 voteHi Fabiano,
Great news, we actually already have this suggestion! Open the “Show on Calendar” menu in the upper right corner of the Calendar (when in Weeks View), and you will see an option to quickly show or hide the Week Summary. We have added this toggle to the Show on Calendar menu for the exact reason you point out. Hope this helps, and thanks for taking the time to share your ideas!

Bodypump & Bodycombat
It would be nice to be able to beter put Les Mills classes like Bodyppump an Bodycombat easily into TP. Can this be done
1 voteJust use our “other” workout type and note the class in the workout title.

Options tab on Summary view
Have an "options" tab for the 'summary' view in WKO - similar to what the other graphs/charts have. In this "options" drop down, have the ability to customize the dates that totals (in TSS, KM's, etc) are shown for (like all other graphs). For example, currently if I wanted to compare this July's totals to LAST July's totals, there is no way to do it.

Add a 'More' button on the calendar
set up the calendar view so that only 5-10 lines of the workout is shown. then immediately follow with a more button that will expand the workout detail. as it is right now, the calendar view is showing the entire workout including any coach messaging, etc and I have to scroll down to be able to see the next week.
1 voteYou can configure the view to not show the full details (just use the settings in classic and remove workout description) or use the new full screen mode.

TrainingPeaks App Feedback/Suggestion from athlete
The Ideal scenario I think would be a Training Peaks App that had Ant+, Bluetooth support that I could then just select the workout in my diary connect it to my sensors and go when the session was complete it would record my efforts with no middle man. Whilst I love the idea of tracking my sessions there are so many out there Digifit, Strava,Runkeeper etc etc etc but none of them have that centralised interface which can be managed and monitored by your coach the same way Training Peaks does. Thus adding this functionality would make it so much…
1 voteWe don’t plan to be in the “data collection” business. There are a lot of apps out there that already accomplish this. We suggest using the WAHOO app for data collection and using it’s built-in upload to TP feature, which works very well and provides seamless uploading of workout data.
Oh, I just saw that this is Kelly! Hi Kelly (it’s Gear)… use Wahoo.. it’s just easy.

more strength based exercises to include trx suspension training
the current set of exercises are good, but a bit limited, can we have some more pilates, yoga and core strength based exercises, and trx suspension training, more kettlebell, lots of swiss ball exercises etc
you may be able to create a link with personal training on the net www.ptonthenet.com to use their library or the gray cook exercise database?
