FITFILES: @core_temperature Heat Sensor Data missing in exported FIT file
Somewhere in the FIT export from TPV to TP, the @core_temperature data channel is lost. It's visible in TP Analyze 360 data but not in the actual saved FIT file stored on TP, nor is it accessible via WKO5 sync.
The other core temperature channels, HSI and skin_temperature are saved to the FIT file.
Edit: I've also opened a support case for this issue.

WORKOUTS: Min. cruise control/min ERG power
Is there a way to implement a min. power value, to avoid p.e. in workouts never reaching the segment average anymore?
the problem: if you targeting a fix power in a workout segment p.e. 5m 210w and for what ever reason your power drops for a short amount of time it is impossible to catch up the 210w avg even if you could ride harder.
Sure i could ride without erg in workout but than i have to verify permanently the current, avg and target power.
Switching erg on/off isn't also not the best way cause this could let me…2 votes -
HUB: Apple TV Bluetooth connection limitation
Are there plans to introduce a phone app that can act as a sensor bridge to get past the Apple TV limitation of only being able to pair two devices? Have an older smart trainer with no cadence sensor built-in so have to forego the HRM pairing.

UI/UX: Add realtime carb burn to HUD options
TrainingPeaks has just added the ability to show calories burned split by carbs and fat.
It would be great if it was possible to show carb burn (ideally in grams of carbs rather than calories, i.e. divided by 4) in realtime whilst riding. This will help fuel during an activity and replenish appropriately afterwards.

UI/UX: w/kg
I understand that you don't want to show w/kg for the riders around you and I understand your reasoning. However, on my bike computer in real life I have my power data set to display as w/kg NOT a power number. It would be nice to have this as an option in the HUD display of my data that others can't see. I think others have also moved away from viewing a power number and instead use w/kg. Again it would be nice to have this as a power option in the displays that are private to the user.
50 votesMany thanks for this more nuanced suggestion, and support for TrainingPeaks Virtual.
We've deliberately not declined this one and will add it to the list of suggestions to consider in more detail. Whilst the general position remains that we deliberately choose not to publish this metric, it potentially could be displayed for yourself only (and be blank when viewing other riders) as an option in the custom UI.

MECHANICS: Always show pacer in nearby riders when using pacer bot
I sometimes loose track of the pacer bot when there is a large group of riders around me. I can't see him/her in the nearby riders list and I'm not sure if I've got ahead of him/her or have dropped behind. it would be terrific if the pacer bot was always shown in the nearby riders list regardless of how many rider away he/she is. many thanks. OTHER: iOS battery drains while sleeping
I've found that when I forget to force close this app after a ride, my iPad will completely drain of battery in a few hours even while asleep. I could understand if the device was open and the app was running, but it happens when the device is totally at rest.
It's kind of weird to me, because I've seen that if I ever have to minimize the app and use another one (like looking something up in a web browser), TPV will almost always totally close out and end my ride.

UI/UX: Configurable HUD (+ presets)
It should be possible to freeform configure the HUD - place datafields or elements wherever you want, change the font, change the size, remove the borders, etc.
It should also be possible to save presets, so you can have a different configuration for racing, workouts, free rides etc.

WORLD: Add spectators to side of the roads
Now that TPV added some other object types (hot air ballons, TP HQ, etc) one thing that could also be added is spectators cheering on the side of the road. At least on the finish lines/KOMs or near major intersections.

UI/UX: Display dFRC
This has been proposed as a W' gauge, but since I know TP is thinking of importing the dFRC chart from wko5 to TP online, it would be great if that could also be translated into a metric (imperfect though it may be) to track on TPv. Sauce for Zwift has had one for years as a gauge, so I imagine it wouldn't be too difficult to implement in some fashion. One easy improvement on the Sauce model would be to allow the user to set their FRC/W' rather than defaulting to 20 kJ.

PLATFORMS: Chromebook
J’utilise TrainingPeaks depuis plusieurs années (12 ans).

EVENTS: Automatic Splits For TTs On Courses Without Arches
Aimed mostly at courses on the new user uploaded routes, if using a route for a TT/TTT, there are no options to have live splits between the teams during the race. If when selecting TT/TTT on a course without arches there was an option to get splits every 2/5/10k automatically implemented, that would be ideal.

PAIRING: Wahoo KICKR bike buttons for U-Turns
Please enable u-turns using the right-hand back button on the Wahoo KICKR bike in all TPV training modes.
At present the button does not cause a u-turn while free-riding.

UI/UX: Visual indication (UI) that HUDs are hidden.
Visual indication (UI) that HUDs are hidden ←Please add.
"h" toggles all HUDs displayed/hidden.
There is no on-screen control for this. There is no setting for this, afaict. There is no indication, visual or otherwise, that all HUD’s are toggled off. This is barely mentioned in the documentation. It does not come up when searching for, e.g.: “TrainingPeaks Virtual HUDs not showing”. Google’s robotic donkeys braying from distant hilltops (so-called “AI”) does not mention this shortcut.
The shortcut is useful. The documentation less so, and the UI not at all. Please somehow promote this information in the documentation, add a…

MECHANICS: Sprint segments and PR's
I would really love to have visual sprint PR's and segments in the TPV routes. How Zwift has implemented it is really nice. Would be a great feature for me and could be a nice motivator during free riding/group rides/races.

Improvements to Training Peaks Virtual.
1, Pacers should be marked on the small map by a coloured dot to show where they are within the pack.
2. Average speed needs to be selectable to show on the UI screen somewhere.
3. Percentage of Max HR as an average and currently, needs to be available on the main screen as some coaches want you to work to that level even when just riding with a pacer or in a race.
4. Some more interesting landscapes that are winding paths within trees or through woods would be good.Hope that makes sense,

WORLD: Avatar lean and drift around corners
Cornering currently feels completely off on TPV. This is partly due to line choice (a lone rider follows the curve of the road and doesn't take a racing line) but visually it is also disengaging to watch as the avatar does not put an outside foot down, lean and fight centrifugal force in a bend.
Biketerra have recently updated their avatar animations to do this, and it totally transforms the feeling of cornering. You can see their implementation here:

MECHANICS: Gamify it!
Add some dopamine boosting elements:
- some kind of bonuses (not necessarily like Zwift ones)
- achievements
- some bonuses for riding through gates
- live ranking of segments
- checkboxes / stats of completed routes
- ranks / levels
- etc32 votesMany thanks for your suggestion and support for TrainingPeaks Virtual.
In general, some degree of gamification can be good, but we need to be careful not to go too far - for example, we would not want to do anything that encouraged an athlete to train when it would be better for them to be resting etc.
It's therefore an area we will certainly be looking at, but at this stage it's unclear what changes we may or may not make.
