WORLD: Routes - Indoor velodrome, no gradient, no wind etc.
An indoor velodrome, no gradient except banking, no wind, no weather etc.
For those who want a consistent training environment for whatever reason.
Being connected to the road network (ride in/out) would be super cool.14 votes -
WORLD: Routes - more free rides
I'd like to see more middle distance free rides between 20-50 miles with a variety of climbing . . . just more variety. Thanks!

FITFILES: Strava title simplify
Can the title on Strava be simplified as TPVirtual: *** instead of TrainingPeaks Virtual seems too bulky....

WORLD: Ice Mountain Graphics
Would love to see some Mountain Goats standing watch over the Ice Mountain climbs on the mountainside ledges. Chomping, scaling ledge to ledge, and keeping an eye on all the hard-working virtual climbers....

FITFILES: Warning if ride is not being recorded
I've lost data of a couple of rides now. It's very frustrating when everything looks fine during a workout only to discover once you are done that all the work you did wasn't recorded.
A warning about i.e. server connection issues would let me take action and restart the app.14 votes -
PAIRING: Allow Climb to change gradients during Train/Workout mode to match the route
Allow the KICKR to change the gradient of the KICKR Climb when doing a workout from the Train menu.
Using the Climb remote control you can already lock it if you want to, so allow users to have it vary automatically if they want. If there is a training reason then maybe add a message recommending user to keep it at 0%.

WORKOUTS: Slope mode for workouts
The current workout options, are erg, terrain and flat - however the issue with flat is that as you accelerate, you have to shift gear to account for the increase in speed. The way other apps deal with this is a slope mode - so rather than simulate a flat road, they simulate a climb, so you can very easily adjust to your target power without the increasing speed requiring gear shifts. Usually this slope is also adjustable ala Zwift.

FITFILES: Embed activity title in saved FIT files
In the meantime until the Garmin Connect integration is released, I've been using a self-written tool (https://github.com/jat255/fit_file_uploader) to automatically process the FIT files produced by TPVirtual and upload them to my Garmin Connect account using some third-party library tools.
One limitation (see https://github.com/jat255/fit_file_uploader/pull/13#issuecomment-2573526582) is that there's no way to access the name assigned to an activity by TPVirtual.
Examining the FIT file specification, it doesn't look to me like there's a standardized place to put an activity title, but perhaps a "developer data field" could be used for this (https://developer.garmin.com/fit/cookbook/developer-data/), instead? Either way, it would…

TP SYNC: Improve HR zone import from TP
Power zones are imported well from TP, presumably because most people use 6 or 7 power zones as standard. TPV assumes the same for HR, but a 5-zone system is more common. Every time I open TPV, my Zone 1/2 boundary and Zone 2/3 boundary are the same, presumably because I have only 5 HR zones defined in TP. Each subsequent zone boundary is off by one zone compared to my TP zones. If the number of zones cannot be imported from TP, then I request that the imported zones are justified to Zone 1/2, rather than Zone 6/7.

HUB: virtual gear changes on remote control screen
Just started using virtual gearing and love it but would like to see a + / - option on the remote control screen to avoid bringing up the main menu, moving to the + or - and then hitting enter. I found I can also do it on the screen with a mouse click but that also isn't real convient when going hard and trying to move the mouse around. A simple extra + and - on the remote screen would be ideal since it would be 1 click either way during a hard effort.
Thanks for your consideration

MECHANICS: Better Virtual Gear Modeling
Love virtual gear and had some discussion on this before and it generally works. However, the realism of virtual gear doesn't correlate to real gear shifting, for example in real gear I can do one shift (which might jump one or two teeth in a cog), but in virtual gear I might need to +/-3 (or more) to get similar resistance. Hence for pacing or TT, current virtual gear is ok but in a sprint, I still need to resort to physical gears so I can do a gear dump.
Can we do a better modeling of the gears so…

MECHANICS: Pause workout
When using the pause workout the stats that are uploaded to TP and Strava are different. The time it was paused still shows as time for that period and then the power and other stats are rounded down. Can the pause time not be showed in the uploaded ride?

UI/UX: Display 2 options
Currently, on iPad, when you extend your screen to another (larger) screen you can only extend rear or side views.
It would be much better if I could extend the main HUD screen to the larger screen and choose the iPad to show one of the less important screen (eg rear view)12 votes -
OTHER: Easy Custom Kit Creation
It would be great if the template was a cutout where the jersey is supposed to be. That way the user can put some colors and whatever design they want and then simply apply the template over-top of the design so that we don’t need to do any cutting out and such.
The jersey design process is probably not designed for someone like me, I totally understand, but it is very non-trivial and much more difficult to create than I would have assumed going into it

OTHER: Improve Documentation
I was quite interested in yesterday's update, specifically this line:
"Added Zen mode for focused training, riding alone in peace."
"This week's release (see below for more details), headlines with more of your ideas, including the new Zen Mode, enabling you to train in peace and focus on your own riding without the distraction of other riders or chat."
But I cannot find any documentation for "Zen Mode" outside of this comment. I have updated my app and searched everywhere for a Zen Mode function, but I don't see it.
When new features are added, instructions should be provided somewhere.
10 votesMany thanks for your suggestion and support for TrainingPeaks Virtual.
There's no doubt that the documentation can be improved, and we'll make that happen.
In the meantime, Zen mode can be activated from Main Menu > Options > UI Settings and will turn off the display of other riders (and their chat) allowing you to ride in peace and just focus on your own training!

WORKOUTS: Target cadence value in the left Workout Data panel
Add target cadence values for intervals in the left Workout Data panel if they are specified in the workout. This is necessary so that you are prepared for changing cadence in the next interval.

UI/UX: Rethink user experience to ease onboarding and use
A user of Rouvy for years, with dabbles in Zwift, Wahoo System, etc., and I’d largely settled on TrainerRoad for the past few years due to its clarity in use. Simple on screen graphics, informative, etc.
But it does get a bit boring, so I was excited to try the TPVirutal. Oooff. All notes are using iPad Pro with latest version.

FITFILES: Upload local FIT file if connection to server is lost mid-ride
If the connection gets lost during the workout the result is an incomplete upload in Training Peaks main app. Nonetheless the whole workout file is recorded on my device as a fit file.
The solution is to manualy delete the uploaded workout and reupload the file from the datafolder on you system.can you please automate this behaviour???

UI/UX: Power based workouts
Can the target power be larger as its hard to see on small devices.
Also the bar at top of the screen that appears to move at will.... can that instead sit central based on target power and move to the left or right if you drift above or below the target power. Similar to the dial on zwift companion.
