  1. Hi

I train TPVirtual with iPad 13" PRO (iOS 18.1), GAME RELEASE 0.4.2 (latest).

When application starts everything sounds good.
    It works perfectly.

    But...
if you touch the display for any reason (just to give ride-on, change the view, give a look to the menù...) the risk (randomic events) is that the "menu and workout" commands appear in the bottom corner (on the left).
After 5" all the rest of the buttoms disappear (I mean the buttoms such "left... right... pause... view.. erg... kudos... intensity"... and so on) but the "menù" and "workout".

They remain visible in a "ON position"…

  2. I would love to see the TPV companion app include a separate page for workouts similar to the Zwift companion app that would allow one to quickly change the effort level or skip an interval with a single button tap rather than navigating through the current remote page process. I struggle to navigate the current remote when I am in the middle of an intense workout, as happened the other day when I tried to reduce the effort of an interval but was unable to do that quickly enough before I entered the ERG mode spiral of death....

  4. In the meantime until the Garmin Connect integration is released, I've been using a self-written tool (https://github.com/jat255/fit_file_uploader) to automatically process the FIT files produced by TPVirtual and upload them to my Garmin Connect account using some third-party library tools.

One limitation (see https://github.com/jat255/fit_file_uploader/pull/13#issuecomment-2573526582) is that there's no way to access the name assigned to an activity by TPVirtual.

Examining the FIT file specification, it doesn't look to me like there's a standardized place to put an activity title, but perhaps a "developer data field" could be used for this (https://developer.garmin.com/fit/cookbook/developer-data/), instead? Either way, it would…

  5. I want to be able to create an event with bots, but bots should be "fillers for the less strong riders" and should not disturb the "top human racers".
E.g : 40 humans join. 20 are very strong and the other 20 are not able to follow the strongest ones, and are likely to be dispersed.

I don't want the weaker racers to be doing a "Time Trial" race on their own, so I want to add bots, but those bots should not be so strong that they'd interfer with the top racers (bridging human groups, etc)

    It would be…

  6. It would be nice to be able to set a the difficulty of bots in a custom event rather than having them scaled to you. Sometimes, you still want to race but just don’t have the energy levels for an all out effort. It would be nice to be able to turn down the bot difficulty, rather than just getting dropped by the lead bots.

  9. It seems that I suffer from a lot of dropouts on my ANT+ connection, enough to trigger Performance Verification (PV) removing me from a race. Now, I am absolutely fine with this, but I’m finding it very hard to trace the issue, especially because the only way to know it happening is to set up a race with PV on, and see what happens for every idea I have.

Now, I understand the reasoning that other aspects of PV can’t be fed back on live when just riding around so people don’t learn how to game the PV system, but…

  10. I've lost data of a couple of rides now. It's very frustrating when everything looks fine during a workout only to discover once you are done that all the work you did wasn't recorded.
A warning about i.e. server connection issues would let me take action and restart the app.

  11. There was previously a feature request for this, but I think it was incorrectly marked as completed.

    https://peaksware.uservoice.com/forums/964442-trainingpeaks-virtual-customer-feedback/suggestions/49244876-custom-workout-accessibility-across-multiple-devic

It would be good to be able to store your custom workout files in the cloud (i.e. as an enhancement to TrainingPeaks) so that they are available across all of your devices. The file sizes are only very small so this should be feasible even for very large libraries.

Whilst you can add a workout to TP to have it available in TPV, if you don't have access to the file in the first place because it's on your home PC and…

  12. Record HRV/ RR Intervals from a Heart Rate Monitor in the fit files for use by training apps. AI Endurance, Humango, Athletica.ai, spoked.ai, runalyze, golden cheetah all use HRV data. AI Endurance, Runalyze, HRV Logger, Golden Cheeetah, and FatMaxxer do analyze the RR intervals stored in the fit file.

  13. Currently we can hit L to make a lap (not a course lap) but other than putting a marker in the fit file its not much use.

I'd like to see lap metrics as data fields for the HUD to go with it like, LAP avg power, LAP NP, Lap avg HR, LAP avg Cadence, Lap time. Like you would on a bike head unit.

Useful for pacing climbs, adhoc intervals etc.

  14. Could you implement different sized riders by using the user height data? This could potentially also require size selection for the bikes as well. I mean why should 160cm user look same sized as 210cm user in TPV?

I assume the user height and weight data is already used in calculating the resistance when riding uphill (how about downhill?) but do you also consider the height for the increased body surface area to have an increased wind resistance? Or when pacing a taller rider one could have more/better draft?

Many thanks for your suggestion, and support for TrainingPeaks Virtual.

To confirm, the TrainingPeaks Virtual physics engine already takes into account the height and weight of riders, so - to use your example - you will already experience a higher drafting effect when sitting behind a larger rider.

All that is currently missing is the graphical representation of that.

  15. The current workout options, are erg, terrain and flat - however the issue with flat is that as you accelerate, you have to shift gear to account for the increase in speed. The way other apps deal with this is a slope mode - so rather than simulate a flat road, they simulate a climb, so you can very easily adjust to your target power without the increasing speed requiring gear shifts. Usually this slope is also adjustable ala Zwift.

  16. I know that it is possible to connect TP Virtual to Strava, but despite numerous attempts to do so, it just doesn't seem to be working.

When following the guide to connect the accounts, I select strava and then receive a 'scanning' message underneath the strava icon on TPv. This doesn't seem to change or progress, despite lengthy waits, and I wonder if this is an issue others have experienced?

I'm using TPv on IOS 18.5 on iPhone 16e.

Has anyone else experienced the same issue? Any suggestions to resolve this?

  17. Power zones are imported well from TP, presumably because most people use 6 or 7 power zones as standard. TPV assumes the same for HR, but a 5-zone system is more common. Every time I open TPV, my Zone 1/2 boundary and Zone 2/3 boundary are the same, presumably because I have only 5 HR zones defined in TP. Each subsequent zone boundary is off by one zone compared to my TP zones. If the number of zones cannot be imported from TP, then I request that the imported zones are justified to Zone 1/2, rather than Zone 6/7.

    1. Have a 24hr "Master Schedule" of all repeating platform events.

    2. Have a tab under the events section for all current / upcoming race series where multiple stages contribute to an overall GC.

    3. Have better advertising for big events.

  18. Just started using virtual gearing and love it but would like to see a + / - option on the remote control screen to avoid bringing up the main menu, moving to the + or - and then hitting enter. I found I can also do it on the screen with a mouse click but that also isn't real convient when going hard and trying to move the mouse around. A simple extra + and - on the remote screen would be ideal since it would be 1 click either way during a hard effort.

    Thanks for your consideration

  19. When using the pause workout the stats that are uploaded to TP and Strava are different. The time it was paused still shows as time for that period and then the power and other stats are rounded down. Can the pause time not be showed in the uploaded ride?
