  2. It seems that I suffer from a lot of dropouts on my ANT+ connection, enough to trigger Performance Verification (PV) removing me from a race. Now, I am absolutely fine with this, but I’m finding it very hard to trace the issue, especially because the only way to know it happening is to set up a race with PV on, and see what happens for every idea I have.

Now, I understand the reasoning that other aspects of PV can’t be fed back on live when just riding around so people don’t learn how to game the PV system, but…

  3. I've lost data of a couple of rides now. It's very frustrating when everything looks fine during a workout only to discover once you are done that all the work you did wasn't recorded.
A warning about i.e. server connection issues would let me take action and restart the app.

  4. Is there a way to make the lighting in the game more dynamic or realistic?

I was thinking about ways to achieve it.
    1. Unity game engine lighting tuning
    2. Enable Unity 6.0+ support for HDR
    3. Monitor specific setting for dynamic contrast <-- This is what I used...

It really added depth and realism to TPV. Riding through shadows (at night/moonlight) and then into an open area with moonlight was impressive. It also made the textures look significantly better and "pop visually."

Enhancing the lighting/shadow effects within the game would significantly improve the overall experience.

  5. There was previously a feature request for this, but I think it was incorrectly marked as completed.

    https://peaksware.uservoice.com/forums/964442-trainingpeaks-virtual-customer-feedback/suggestions/49244876-custom-workout-accessibility-across-multiple-devic

It would be good to be able to store your custom workout files in the cloud (i.e. as an enhancement to TrainingPeaks) so that they are available across all of your devices. The file sizes are only very small so this should be feasible even for very large libraries.

Whilst you can add a workout to TP to have it available in TPV, if you don't have access to the file in the first place because it's on your home PC and…

  6. Currently we can hit L to make a lap (not a course lap) but other than putting a marker in the fit file its not much use.

I'd like to see lap metrics as data fields for the HUD to go with it like, LAP avg power, LAP NP, Lap avg HR, LAP avg Cadence, Lap time. Like you would on a bike head unit.

Useful for pacing climbs, adhoc intervals etc.

  7. The current workout options, are erg, terrain and flat - however the issue with flat is that as you accelerate, you have to shift gear to account for the increase in speed. The way other apps deal with this is a slope mode - so rather than simulate a flat road, they simulate a climb, so you can very easily adjust to your target power without the increasing speed requiring gear shifts. Usually this slope is also adjustable ala Zwift.

  8. I know that it is possible to connect TP Virtual to Strava, but despite numerous attempts to do so, it just doesn't seem to be working.

When following the guide to connect the accounts, I select strava and then receive a 'scanning' message underneath the strava icon on TPv. This doesn't seem to change or progress, despite lengthy waits, and I wonder if this is an issue others have experienced?

I'm using TPv on IOS 18.5 on iPhone 16e.

Has anyone else experienced the same issue? Any suggestions to resolve this?

  9. There has to be a better way of doing updates. It would be great if the request to downloads of new updates be moved from the start of a session to the end of a session. Zwift does this as well and its a really bad design. If the software update is a large download an you have a slow connection, you can be blocked from starting your cycle session for quite some time or even miss a scheduled race which is worse. I would like to a option/warning at the end of my session to do the update now…

  10. Power zones are imported well from TP, presumably because most people use 6 or 7 power zones as standard. TPV assumes the same for HR, but a 5-zone system is more common. Every time I open TPV, my Zone 1/2 boundary and Zone 2/3 boundary are the same, presumably because I have only 5 HR zones defined in TP. Each subsequent zone boundary is off by one zone compared to my TP zones. If the number of zones cannot be imported from TP, then I request that the imported zones are justified to Zone 1/2, rather than Zone 6/7.

    1. Have a 24hr "Master Schedule" of all repeating platform events.

    2. Have a tab under the events section for all current / upcoming race series where multiple stages contribute to an overall GC.

    3. Have better advertising for big events.

  11. Just started using virtual gearing and love it but would like to see a + / - option on the remote control screen to avoid bringing up the main menu, moving to the + or - and then hitting enter. I found I can also do it on the screen with a mouse click but that also isn't real convient when going hard and trying to move the mouse around. A simple extra + and - on the remote screen would be ideal since it would be 1 click either way during a hard effort.

    Thanks for your consideration

  12. When using the pause workout the stats that are uploaded to TP and Strava are different. The time it was paused still shows as time for that period and then the power and other stats are rounded down. Can the pause time not be showed in the uploaded ride?

  13. Currently, on iPad, when you extend your screen to another (larger) screen you can only extend rear or side views.
It would be much better if I could extend the main HUD screen to the larger screen and choose the iPad to show one of the less important screen (eg rear view)

  14. It would be great if the template was a cutout where the jersey is supposed to be. That way the user can put some colors and whatever design they want and then simply apply the template over-top of the design so that we don’t need to do any cutting out and such.

The jersey design process is probably not designed for someone like me, I totally understand, but it is very non-trivial and much more difficult to create than I would have assumed going into it

  15. I was quite interested in yesterday's update, specifically this line:

"Added Zen mode for focused training, riding alone in peace."

"This week's release (see below for more details), headlines with more of your ideas, including the new Zen Mode, enabling you to train in peace and focus on your own riding without the distraction of other riders or chat."

But I cannot find any documentation for "Zen Mode" outside of this comment. I have updated my app and searched everywhere for a Zen Mode function, but I don't see it.

When new features are added, instructions should be provided somewhere.

Many thanks for your suggestion and support for TrainingPeaks Virtual.

There's no doubt that the documentation can be improved, and we'll make that happen.

In the meantime, Zen mode can be activated from Main Menu > Options > UI Settings and will turn off the display of other riders (and their chat) allowing you to ride in peace and just focus on your own training!

  16. Add target cadence values for intervals in the left Workout Data panel if they are specified in the workout. This is necessary so that you are prepared for changing cadence in the next interval.

  18. Towards the end of a custom workout this morning, the reported watts in the UI went off the rails, no longer matching what was actually happening at the trainer.

The recovery target was 95W, and TPV in ERG mode never deviated from that, and you can see that in the FIT file. To clear, TPV perfectly executed the workout; the issue is/was only that the UI was reporting wacky wattage.

Specifically, the UI was showing that I was outputting significantly more power than I actually was, even while CORRECTLY prompting me to INCREASE effort.

I'm trying to attach the fit…

  19. Concept :
The Session Race would be a points-based cycling race designed to encourage rider regrouping and tactical variety. After each key segment or "arch," a pacer bot is deployed—set to a fixed wattage and distance—once the first rider passes. This intentional pacing slows down the lead group and allows trailing riders to catch up, making the race more inclusive and strategic.

    Example on a varied circuit:

    Neutral zone: 1 km

Arch 1 (1.5 km sprint on false flat): Pacer bot at 200W for 3 km

    Arch 2 (800 m uphill): Pacer bot at 150W for 2 km

    Arch 3…
