Offline work in coaching edition and sync when Internet service returns
I see a real need for the TP Coaching Edition to have the functionality to be used offline when connectivity is not available so you can write programs. When service is established, a synch would occur.
18 votesThanks so much for your feedback. While we agree that off-line planning mode would provide an opportunity for training prep and analysis when connectivity is not available, this would require a major redesign of our platform and thus not something we could tackle in the near-term.

Bring back functionality of strength workouts
In Training Peaks Classic, you could create sets, reps, ranges, etc and add specific exercises while building out a strength workout. These exercises would have complete descriptions that were created, making them very easy to follow.
In the new software, all the classic workouts have become read only with no way to adjust exercises. All new strength workouts require all info to be placed into the workout description which is not only time consuming, but confusing and ineffective for athletes.
I think we can all agree that strength training is a very important part of endurance performance and injury prevention.…

Add Efficiency Factor and other advanced metrics to the Reporting Dashboard Chart.
These are extremely useful metrics, but they do no good when buried in the workout details.
It would be helpful to chart them over time, and correlate them against other metrics in the scatter plot

Allow user-selected First Day of the week (or at least allow Sunday as an option)
Please allow the calendar week to start on Sunday.
It is hard to reconcile this calendar with others when the weeks do not line up. Please fix this. I need Sunday to be the first day of the week so that it matches other calendars.

Pre-Activity Comments
I understand the intent of the pre-activity notes but from a user standpoint it does not make sense to me. Please consider a user accessible pre-activity section to record technique comments aside from the actual workout specifics. As a self coached athlete I would find this area useful to input work out tips and techniques to consider or pre-race focus ideas... Restricted areas within a personal training log don't make sense to me as a user... Please consider this as an RFE..

Workout duplicates, triplicates, etc
The new syncing tools (ex. Garmin AutoSync or tapiriik) are very handy for athletes. However they have introduced a new problem. Athletes without the necessary attention or guidance just activate everything from different platforms and the same workouts just start syncing without checking if that file is already at TP. The end result: duplicates, triplicates, etc. As a coach I would like to have a tool where duplicates, triplicates, etc would be detected and offered a solution to fix it. Thanks.

Add support for Pioneer device files (.db)
Pioneer head unit data is in .db format (sqlite I believe) and is supported by CyclingAnalytics. TrainingPeaks should support this filetype directly.

The premium accounts need to have a function in which I can create a training plan, save it in a personal library, and then apply and reapply as needed. I run several of the same races every year and want to simply apply a plan. I know I can copy a week, but going week by week from a year ago to "today" is an unnecessary step in what should be a click and drop style solution.

Update workouts in plans after editing in library
Here's how I think this could work. When you update a workout in your library, there could be a radio button that says "update workouts across all plans". When I make edits to a workout to improve it, sometimes it'd be nice to be able to make sure it's updated in all workouts. Sometimes this isn't necessary or desired, so having the option would be good. thanks

Customize fitness history
Would be great if we can customize the intervals in TP Fitness History. Standard are 5sec, 1m, 5m, 20m, 60m. would be great to be able to add our own (i.e. 10m, 30m, etc)
2 votesWe do not have plans to allow custom durations for the Peaks calculation. However, this is a feature of WKO.

offline mode for mobile apps
I would like to be able to see upcoming and recent workouts (7 days in either direction would be nice).
Use cases include sitting on a plane, or when I'm roaming and trying to minimize data usage.

Swim Types
For swim workouts, I would like the equipment option to be pool type (25m/50m/25y/OWS) rather than shoe. I could add these as shoe types, but then I would see them every time I enter a run as well. I don't see much use for shoe type under a swim anyway.

Best Bike Split - importing planned workouts
Just heard the news about the Best Bike Split purchase which I think is a really fantastic tool. I'm a premium subscriber to both TP and BBS and I'm looking forward to using both over the next year. I'm sure there will be a lot to work over the next few months regarding integration and there will be many requests. notes option for calendar
please add a notes option for calendar that is NOT counted as a workout. I've used "race" and "other" which only works intermittently and inconsistently which is itself frustrating.

The ability to manually add specific durations for peak power like 15" or 3'.

FTP / Weight graph (Power to weight ratio)
Based on the concept of thrust to weight ratio (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thrust-to-weight_ratio), it would be nice to have a graph that tracks:
FTP in seconds (power) / weight
I currently have to do this calculation myself and hide it in the 'waist' metric to display it as a graph.

trainingpeaks ConnectIQ App - existing device support (or lack thereof)
The new ConnectIQ app (released today) does not support the 920XT/Fenix3 and most other devices of that generation.
Given that the 935 and the Fenix5 devices have only been released in the very recent past...that means that your "new" app supports only a very small percentage of the real Garmin / TP user community. I understand the desire/need to announce support for the 935 on launch day....
...but, NOT providing support for the actual current userbase at the same time is VERY LAME.
3 votesThe app uses a few new features of the Connect IQ 2.2 SDK, which allows content to be downloaded, stored, and executed on the device. Unfortunately, the 920XT and Fenix 3 are both CIQ 1.x devices, so our app will not run on those devices.
Currently the supported devices are:
Edge 1000, 820, & 520
FR935
FR735XT – pending a firmware update
Fenix 5 – all variants
Fenix Chronos – pending a firmware updateIf you have a Fenix 3 or 920XT you can still get workouts from TrainingPeaks on to your device. I agree that it is a lot of steps, but you could do this in batch once or twice a week to save some time.

Auto Title Workouts Based on Location
TrainingPeaks should auto title non-planned workouts based on location similar to Garmin connect. Currently completed workouts are titled with "Untitled". This fills up my calendar and makes it hard to single out workouts. Instead each completed workout without a title should automatically be titled based on the workout's location data.

3 votesCurrently we leave it up to the HRV app developers to write data to TrainingPeaks. This is a more efficient solution and the data shows up in TrainingPeaks faster.
