  1. ERG mode does not release after ending a workout.

End workout, exit workout, ERG mode will not disengage. Even ending the ride and returning to the Hub doesn't disengage ERG mode (or at least the resistance stays high).

I have to start a new ride (not a workout ride) in order for the resistance to drop to a reasonable level.

Many thanks for your suggestion and support for TrainingPeaks Virtual.

I'm delighted to say that this has now been implemented in the latest release (v0.4.11) which is out today.  This significantly improves the pairing infrastructure to resolve issues with ERG mode, sensors and dropouts.

  2. I see there are hotkeys for pausing (spacebar) and "Take a Break" feature (B key). When I do this though, the ride timer should also stop. I downloaded the FIT file, and it showed my timer and elapsed time were both 2:05, but my moving time was only 1:50. Bike computers allow you to set a speed for autopause or manual pause. I have mine set at 3mph.

Many thanks for your suggestion and support for TrainingPeaks Virtual.

TrainingPeaks Virtual already does exactly what you describe - the clock timer pauses and stats (such as distance travelled, elevation gained, calories expended etc) don't increase for the duration that you are on a break.

I suspect that some other issue might have affected your ride here, for example that the break accidentally was ended earlier than you expected - please feel free to contact support at virtual@trainingpeaks.com who can take a closer look.

  3. Would love to try out some iconic well known routes. Would be fun to have virtual events and challenges leading up to real event.

I'm delighted to say that the latest release (v0.4.27 - which is out today), introduces a brand new experience - GPXplore.- that enables you to ride any route you like simply by uploading a GPX file, exactly as you suggest.

Initially we've opened up testing of GPXplore to everyone with a number of iconic "World Routes", and will rollout the ability to upload your own routes over the course of September. Thank you again for your suggestion, and hope that you enjoy riding whatever routes you want, whenever you want, on TrainingPeaks Virtual.

  4. The screenshot photo option is cool, but the pics are not saving anywhere!

Many thanks for your suggestion and support for TrainingPeaks Virtual.

Screenshots are already saved out to your user folder on your device - for example, on a Windows PC they will be in the folder c:\users\<you>\documents\TPVirtual\Screenshots

  5. Allow an easy way to pause ride-sometimes things happen to make a stop necessary. Also please stop the average power rating from dropping when ride has been paused.
And please put app on AppleTV.

You can however already pause rides and take a break to do whatever you want for however long you want while maintaining your position within a group. Note that while this break mode is active, then your time / distance other stats will be locked, so you won't gain any "free miles"!

Simply select the button from the action bar at the bottom middle of the screen (icon is shaped like a person walking, not cycling!) or if you've got a keyboard then press the hotkey "B" for (B)reak. When you're done and want to resume again, just press it again to get back cycling.

  6. I cannot find a calendar/website to see upcoming events to select to ride/join. The only way I see is to go to the workout room, use the Virtual program, find something, then ride. With Z you can look online or use the Companion App to see upcoming events days in advance.

  7. Allow access to the menu when you are in a workout while the arrows to select the route are showing. It would be nice to change FTP or pause workout at any time during a session.

Many thanks for this suggestion, and your support for TrainingPeaks Virtual.

You can actually already do all these things within TrainingPeaks Virtual. To change the difficulty of a workout, just use the +/- hotkeys (or the +/- action buttons from the action bar at the bottom of the screen), and to pause a workout just press the spacebar, or use the hotkey "B" to take a (B)reak at any time. The arrow keys can also be used to select direction at a junction.

  8. OK, someone had to say it.

The graphics on TPV were always placeholders. When the resource is in place, they should be re-built from the ground up.

My preference would be to go for a stylised low-polygon approach, which allows for scalable graphics across the wide range of hardware options, with flexibility for cool animations and effects - it's also different to the other platforms out there. Whatever is chosen, it should have a consistent style.

I've attached some examples for reference.

We hope that you're enjoying the many new graphics updates in TrainingPeaks Virtual that have been recently released. From GeorgeTown to Ice Mountain, with wind farms, cruise ships, cliffs and a wide variety of animals and other things to see on the roadside, there's been a huge change in the graphics since this suggestion was first made.

Whilst there's a lot more work to do, and we intend to continually improve the graphics and so will never be really "done", now feels like a good time to close this wider idea and continue to work on the details over the coming months and years ahead!

  9. Please accommodate WKO iLevels when setting power zones, thank you. Or simply bring over the zones from TP which one can implement iLevels zones in.

Many thanks for your suggestion and support for TrainingPeaks Virtual.

I'm delighted to say that fully automatic synchronisation of power zone levels between TrainingPeaks and TrainingPeaks Virtual is now implemented. This means that you can now set your power zones however you wish (including using WKO iLevels) in TrainingPeaks, and these will then automatically mirror over into TrainingPeaks Virtual for you to use when riding.

  10. I like a relatively uncluttered screen, so tend to minimise the number of HUD elements. It’d be nice to be able to set some to free-ride only. The computer and profile are quite useful in free-ride, but largely meaningless during a workout. It’d be great to have a yes / no / free-ride-only setting. The workout elements are already workout only, which works great.

Many thanks for your suggestion and support for TrainingPeaks Virtual.

I'm delighted to say that the latest release of TrainingPeaks Virtual now fully supports a clutter free screen when riding workouts. Simply select "Focus Mode" when chosing your workout, and all the things that relate to the 3D virtual world (chat, maps, routes etc) are turned off automatically so you can focus completely on your workout and training.

  11. During a free ride, it should be possible to turn on ERG and lock it to your current power, and then you can shift the ERG value up/down 5w with another key. Functioning much like cruise control on a car.

This has many practical benefits - it means you can execute a flexible erg workout whilst free riding, for example ERG on the flat and then turn it off for a climb, and then back on. It would also allow you to maintain a certain power whilst you are distracted with something else.

Many thanks everyone for this suggestion, and your support for TrainingPeaks Virtual.

I'm delighted to say that the latest release out today (v0.4.24) now fully supports Cruise Control mode. Simply select by clicking on the Cruise Control icon on the action bar at the bottom of the screen (or if you're using a keyboard, then the hotkey 'C' will also work) to engage Cruise Control.

Power level can be easily adjusted using the +/- icons / hotkeys (the same as for Virtual Gearing) and will change in 5 Watt steps for single presses, and 10W increments if you repeatedly press quickly.

  12. I use Zwift to pull my Training Peaks workouts in so that I'm forced to do the set wattage which is based on my FTP in Training Peaks. Can this be done in the new platform?

Thank you for your suggestion, and support for TrainingPeaks Virtual.

Any workouts in your TrainingPeaks calendar will be seamlessly available to ride in TrainingPeaks Virtual without you needing to do any configuration. Just log in using your TrainingPeaks username and password and any workouts for that day will automatically appear in the Training tab of the Main Menu for you to ride.

  13. The ARR (all-rounder rank) list should be displayed publicly so that you can see how you stack up against other riders, and give you incentive to perform and progress. It also encourages you to race in different formats and distances.

The other good thing about ARR is that it is not sandbaggable, as your ARR is not used to determine which pen you enter in a race (that is the course specific rank which is hidden).

Many thanks for your suggestion, and support for TrainingPeaks Virtual.

I'm delighted to say that this is now fully implemented and if you look at profiles online (e.g. at https://tpvirtualhub.com) then you will see the riders All-Rounder Ranking (ARR) as requested.

  14. It would be nice if the training zones would sync up with the training zones you have input on training peaks account automatically rather than input each individually

Automatic sync of data between TrainingPeaks and TrainingPeaks Virtual (e.g. Name, FTP, TrainingZones, Weight etc) is now available in v0.4.4!

  15. Would be great to skip from one paced ride to another without stopping the ride. This works well after a warm up period where you want to start slower before stepping it up.

Thank you for your suggestion, and support for TrainingPeaks Virtual.

You can already join a pacer (or a friend, or a team mate) at any time by selecting the Join button (the icon looks like two people together) from the action bar at the bottom middle of the screen.

If you are on a device with a keyboard you can also use the "J" for (J)oin hotkey.

  16. I use TP username and password to log in to the game (came from TP premium subscription), this does not seem to work on the indievelohub.com. suggestions?

Apologies for the late reply to this, but for the record login to TPVirtualHub.com now uses your TrainingPeaks username and password as suggested.

Fun for the rider... but very important to promote TPV! 😉

I'm delighted to say that the latest release, out this week, now fully supports Strava screenshots. At the end of a ride you will now see a selection of screenshots (both any you manually took during the ride, plus some automatically taken at notable times such as completing a workout, finishing an event, or bagging an achievement). Simply select which ones you want and click Upload to upload them to Strava.

  18. Firstly, love it all. Well done! Inspired by the progress you’ve made. Secondly, I have a Tacx Neo and a pair of Assioma pedals. Love how their are metrics shown on screen for L/R balance etc but I can’t seem to get Smoothness and Effectiveness showing even when I have the trainer and pedals connected. Couldn’t find out how to do this or if I need different hardware. Tried searching for this answer, but couldn’t find anything. Hoping this is an easy fix, but perhaps a WIKI or similar for key feature questions would be helpful? Overall, keep up the…

Many thanks for your suggestions, and support for TrainingPeaks Virtual.

I strongly suspect that Smoothness and Effectiveness are currently only transmitted by your device when connected over ANT+, and not over Bluetooth.

Regarding documentation, there's already an initial collection of wiki style pages available at the following link, but obviously these can always be extended and improved further!

  19. Create a web site with all route maps - their detailed description and profile.
Ideally, it should be interactive - similar to https://zwiftmap.com/ or at least as informative as route descriptions on Zwift Insider.
Why - not everybody races, some people just workout or do social rides and it would very beneficial to be able to check routes before riding and navigate around without predefined routes as well.

I'm delighted to say that this has now been fully implemented. Simply go to https://tpvirtualhub.com/map and you can see all the routes together with the description, course profile etc.

  20. I recently reviewed the application but found it only accessible via computer, without an iOS version available for Apple TV that could link to mobile devices. This functionality is offered by Zwift, but unfortunately, I couldn’t find a similar feature in TrainingPeaks Virtual. This limitation prevented me from fully using the software, as I was unable to link my Wahoo KICKR trainer to my Mac. Expanding compatibility to include an iOS version with Apple TV connectivity would significantly enhance usability for users with similar setups.
