TrainingPeaks Virtual: Please let me easily search for and re-ride past custom workouts
My coach has assigned me some nice indoor cycling workouts that I’ve ridden in TrainingPeaks Virtual. I’d like to ride some of them again occasionally, without having to nag my coach to take time to search for and re-copy them. I would love it if TPV included a section for “past workouts” in the list of workouts I can choose to ride (just like I can look through the default TPV workouts and, e.g., sort by duration).

Activity Type - Climbing
I'd really like to see 'Rock Climbing' as an activity type, including different sub types (Indoor, Outdoor, Bouldering), so they can be logged and included in stats.

Enhanced Organization for Workout Library via Sub-Folders
It would be incredibly helpful to have the ability to create sub-folders within the Workout Library. For example:
• Track Workouts > VO2 Max, Threshold, 5K-Specific, beginner
• Half Marathon Workouts > Long Runs, Peak Runs, Tempo SessionsThis added layer of structure would significantly improve library organization and efficiency, especially for coaches managing a diverse set of athletes and training focuses. The ability to filter or categorize workouts more specifically would streamline programming and save valuable time.

Mobile App needs Dark Mode
The iOS app needs dark mode. I'm surprised TBH that it wasn't included in the most recent update. This should be a standard, ootb expectation for iOS apps these days.

When typing comments in the Android app, the comments field is actually minimized or somehow hidden by some programming feature where it slides up and you can't see the comment field as you're typing

Enhancements to the workout library
In my opinion, the current state of the workout library does not live up to standards. There are crucial functionalities missing, especially when working together with other coaches.
Sub-Folders: This is the most important one. Being able to structure workouts by putting them in dedicated folders is a must. Right now, you can have e.g. one folder for running and have to make the differentiation by a naming convention in the workouts that get complicated real fast!
Editing shared workouts: When I share a folder or workout with a co-coach, I want him or her to be able to edit…

Make "shoes" an optional equipment item for swim workouts
Let's make Shoe Type optional on swim workouts, so that it isn't displayed be default.
I get that SwimRun is a thing (most people probably do not), but I'd be shocked if more than 1% of swim workouts are people swimming in their shoes.
Also, any Swim/Run event will likely have a run segment, and what I care about are road miles on the shoes, not how often they got wet. You do not include the yardage / meters of a swim on the shoes distance, do you?
I see that Pool Type was recently added, so it seems like…

80/20 metric in calendar
Is it possible to have a weekly metric on the calendar view for athletes and coached to see planned vs actual for the 80/20 rule, or derivatives of this? We know that we don't follow 80/20 all year round, this time of year in the northern hemisphere might be 90% aerobic / 10% anaerobic with some short bursts

Strength Metrics
I scrolled through the feedback and ideas of others, and it looks like you are making great efforts to make changes, so thank you TrainingPeaks Team!
If you have not already, I suggest looking at the App, Strong. They have a really great format, but I'd rather use TrainingPeaks because it's nice having both my cardio and strength workouts in one area. The new Strength app from TP is very good! For me to really love it and not want to supplement elsewhere, here is what I think could be useful.

60 votesHi all!
We’re excited to share that Exercise History is now live in the TrainingPeaks mobile app (v12.62.0)!
You can access this feature directly within your strength workouts to view past performances.
We appreciate your suggestions, and your input continues to drive updates like this. I'm going to keep this suggestion labeled as Planned as the remaining items are still on our roadmap.
Thanks for being a part of the TrainingPeaks community!

Limit the popup and banner and interstitial ads for coached athletes and add back the ability to do basic things like pair workouts to plan
I'm rarely moved to take the time to complain about something, but I can't remember the last time I had this bad of an experience. I'm an athlete who paid for one of your coaching plans, yet because I'm not paying your monthly fee I have to click through or close no less than 4 ads to actually use the interface. On top of that, you've removed the ability online and in the app to pair device captured workouts to planned workouts which breaks the entire model. I'd be tempted to pay for the subscription, but I refuse to be…

beginners
Absolute beginners, people coming into cycling for the first time who want a platform that will grow their abilities, have been left behind. Also, people, like myself, who are returning from injuries would be able to get 'build back' programs easily and without having to write themselves. I've got so many friends who want to start a cycling program, but still the 'beginning' training plans are just too ambitious. I'm talking drop dead from zero cycling programs.

Location of private notes
Yes, I would like to see "private notes" moved further down below "pre & post workout comments". As is, I often have to scroll to get to my pre comments which I write in every workout. I do not write in private notes every time. Thanks!

Training plan mis-applied to wrong dates
This is a bug, but I was asked to report here after first reporting to Customer Support
After purchasing a new training plan, it is possible to automatically apply starting "next Monday".
However, for international users, the localised intended date (e.g. 05/01/2026, January 5th) is then interpreted as a US format (MM/DD/YYYY) date, and the plan is applied starting May 1st.
Note that no date is ever actually input or selected by the user, this mixup is all internal to TrainingPeaks

Beta Messaging Improvement
The new Beta messaging feature is great, however, notifications are not provided when an athlete responds to a message. Without notifications, it is easy to miss a note and then defeats the purpose of having this function. Similar to other instant messaging/chat platforms (i.e., Slack, Micro Soft Teams, etc.), notifications in Training Peaks Beta messaging should be included.
